The original fittings for my old floor style air conditioner were problematic because they kept breaking at the hose connection ring and there was no way to fix it. These window panels just connects itself to the hose and you don’t have to have that extra piece that seems to break. The air conditioner works fine but I needed to have new fittings and a new hose and this works perfectly and fits really well in a vertical window if you glue the panels together at the overlap connection point. It’s not meant for vertical installation but if you glue or screw the vertical panels together it works great.

Soft plastic that breaks during the process of putting it together
I cannot stress enough, do not buy this piece of junk. The plastic is super fragile and the self-tapping screws breaks it to pieces. I didn’t get this thing together before it broke but even after fixing it with duct tape, the wind broke it. If a wind gust of 2mph comes through, you will wake up to a bang and crack!

I’ve had many portable AC’s over the years. The latest is Friedrich. The connector in the window installation kit was straight, not offset, and hit the window sill. It couldn’t be used. I ordered this one and it fit very well. Actually, it is the best one I’ve ever used.
