The shelves are great. The idea behind is great as well. The cons are that once you install the shelves, they are wobbly and flimsy. I re-drilled additional holes on the flimsy support bracket and screwed it into a wall stud. Even like this, the shelves do not stay firmly against the wall but instead if you pull down with the slightest effort, the whole shelf bends down. I attempted to make them sturdier but regardless of how many anchors I put in the wall, the design results end up with a flimsy shelf. I believe that if the mounting bracket was made differently with additional back wall support, the shelf would be great. Since, I drilled holes on the brackets, I am unable to return, however, had I known of their flimsiness, I would have just returned them.

The shelf is fine (this is the second set like these I’ve bought) for the indicated load, the bracket is fine, and they even come with a little spirit level. The oversized drywall screws, on the other hand, should be considered “novelty” use only. Do yourself a favor and throw them out immediately–use normal 1/4 or 5/16 drywall imserts or toggle bolts, which will actually hold the bracket firmly against the wall and eliminate the “wobble” several have memtioned. Tomorrow I get to go pick up some drywall patch compound, fill those stupid holes, and thank the gods the bracket has wide slots so I can put proper mounts a half inch to the sides.

The description states the shelves hold 55lbs and I can confirm that they don’t even hold 20 lbs. My construction contractor even tried to install these for me drilling into a brick wall and they started sagging around 15lbs and couldn’t hold the weight at 20lbs.I notified Amazon Customer Service and they were NOT helpful at all.I’m so disappointed because these look so great, but can’t hold any weight! You can maybe confidently put 10lbs on here, so just beware.
