Note whether the door is right-handed or left-handed.
For right-handed doors, the spindle goes horizontally through the deadbolt.For left-handed doors, the spindle goes vertically through the deadbolt.(Read the manual carefully before installing)
The smart lock does not respond when attempting to lock or unlock via the app, or it fails to unlock properly.
1.Ensure the lock spindle is installed correctly: vertical for left-handed doors and horizontal for right-handed doors.
2.Check if the app setting for left-handed or right-handed door opening is selected correctly.
The smart lock cannot unlock automatically.
The lock requires a twist to lock or unlock and does not support automatic locking or unlocking.
The charging cable needs to be a USB-A to Type-C data cable.
You cannot use a Type-C to Type-C cable, as it will prevent the lock from charging. Additionally, please fully charge the lock before using it.
Recommended usage range for the F08 smart deadbolt.
install the lock on the front door, gate door, or garage door. Avoid installing it on a fence gate, as gaps may allow a hand to reach in and unlock the inner lock. This lock is not suitable for doors with gaps that access the inner lock.

Works well
Fit in deadbolt hole without any modifications. Had to download an app but it was easy. Set up for my finger and my wife’s finger were not an issue and it looks and feels good quality.

Great BUT
So this is a wonderful product! We needed a smaller keyless deadbolt to fit with our big doorknob, and this has been great. The only thing I will say is that it NEEDS to be charged with a portable charger, USB-A to USB-C. I tried avoiding having to buy a portable charger, but the times that I have charged it by using a wall plug in, it didnât even last a week. But using a portable charger has actually charged it fully and it has lasted. As annoying as it is, it is essential!

Quick install + fast print reader
Helpful to know up front what this does and does not do. It does work great for using up to 20 fingerprints to unlock and lock the door with no problem. It also can connect to phone via Bluetooth if needed to adjust settings or add prints. What it does not do is connect to WiFi or Amazon or google directly which means no remote locking or unlocking. Also doesnât seem to have an auto lock feature, but for the price itâs great and was easy to install – my finger print is now my key (also comes with a set of real keys). Also to recharge a portable usb c charger or long usb c cable would be needed (not included).

Second lock stopped working.
These locks are not water resistant. I have 2 of them. One is on my front door under a covered porch and it has been fine. The other one is on my building. The first one I had was malfunctioning so I thought it was just a glitch because the one on my front door has been fine. So I returned it and got a replacement. After a good rain, now it has stopped working again . It is completely dead. I tried charging it just to make sure but itâs completely dead and now I canât return it and Iâm stuck with a 50 dollar âsmartâ deadbolt that I have to use a key on. Should have just bought a regular deadbolt.

With its waterproof design, I feel confident itâll hold up in any weather but that is not something I would need utmost in a locker. This is the perfect size for my gate
All the other ones are bulky requires 4 AA batteries. The compactness is perfect fit. Everything is perfect except for 2 things. It would be nice if I can set it to auto lock. Secondly it would be nice if it can connect to gateway so I can control it remotely like the Smonet smart lock. I like how it has battery indicator on the app.

Lock is greatâ¦.but wonât connect to G3 Gateway
Geektale F-08. The lock itself is great, if youâre standing right next to it with your phone. Or if you donât need to unlock it from afar. I purchased a G3 gateway that the company itself told me would be compatible, and it will not acknowledge the lock. I cannot add the lock. I donât like having a deadbolt that cannot be unlocked remotely. If Iâm not home, I want to be able to let emergency personnel in should they need to get in.
