Not even a week in winter and the electronicmechanism and fingerprint mechanism already stopped working. When get reply from support, support was helpful and agree to a replacement, so that is better – but still product advertisement seems a bit misleading that it would be ‘for all weather.’

Been using it for about a month. The temperature has been hovering around -11Â°C at night and -5 in the days. The finger print reader can be a bit unresponsive at time but it’s not related to the temperature. It’s just slow to react and it has a lot of false negative. On a more positive note, the lock never jammed due to the cold. I also did not encounter any problems related to the gateway and controlling the lock remotely.Installation was very simple. It’s basically the same as any other Smart Lock. The door is sandwich between a metal plate and the front of the lock, there is a wire between the front and the back of the lock and the back of the lock is screwed on the metal plate. The smart lock require 4 AA batteries.The software for this lock is called Smart Life. This is a platform that I used before. there is actually a lot of Smart Device using this app. I already have a meat thermometer, a robot vacuum and some smart plug that uses this app. Adding this lock was extremely simple. It took exactly one tap on the app to add the lock. The Smart Life app is fairly clean and easy to get around. It didn’t took a lot to get use to it. To be honest though, Once it’s setup, I will never use the app again.Over all, this is an okay smart lock. There is nothing really outstanding since there is a lot of other smart lock which offer the same set of feature.

This is my second Hornbill smart lock, but is the first one with a gateway, which is a game changer.The quality and build of this lock is very good, and similar to my other smart lock. With that one though, it was not possible to unlock the door “from a distance” if for instance you wanted someone to check on the house unplanned. The only way to manage that was to basically provide them with your code, which then meant reprogramming the lock. With this, you can unlock the door for them when they get to the house. You can then lock the door, and confirm the status after they have left, which is fantastic.Installation is really simple. The lock is battery powered, and the batteries are on the warm side of the house, so it is fairly resistant to extremely cold temperatures (it is currently -30 oC here after the sun has set, and the lock still functions well). Fingerprint scanning is the preferred method of using this in our family, but there are multiple options available, including keyfobs (original keyfobs from the first lock also work with this), pre-determined codes you set up, the app and finally, actual keys. The keypad is not very quick at recognizing entries and can be a bit frustrating to try and use, but if you do set up codes for guests, you just have to instruct them to be patient when entering the code and to enter the code too fast.This is a great lock that can be integrated easily with Alexa and is truly “remote”. At time of writing this review there is a substantial discount and an additional $20 coupon available which makes this a very good buy. If you want a very convenient deadbolt that allows a lot of flexibility, and gives you the ability to confirm your door is locked no matter where you are, this is the lock you want.

Ultimate convenience and security!
This smart door lock has made life so much easier! The fingerprint sensor works quickly, and the app is really intuitive to use. I love that I can lock and unlock the door remotely, and the integration with Alexa is a nice bonus. The keypad lights up at night, which is super convenient. The only downside is that installation took a little longer than expected, but once it’s in, it’s perfect. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a more secure and smart home!

So easy a toddler count install it. Iâm a girl and it took 15 minutes to install. No drilling needed. App finds and adds products immediately. Gateway self connected. It was a dream to use with Google home. You set up a code and you can tell your Google âhey Google unlock the front doorâ it asks you for the code and then opens immediately.Got them for the front and back door so one gateway controls both.The key cards are great and can be used on multiple locks.

Great service
The lock was easy to install but we could not get it to connect to the app. I called customer service and someone named Tara responded via text and arranged Face Time call. Tara was wonderful and figured out that the original lock was defective. She ordered a replacement which we received in one day. She scheduled a Face Time call and led us through the complete installation and use of the app. We love how the lock looks and works with our code or our fingerprints and we appreciate how Tara really helped us get it installed

Great security upgrade, solid deadbolt, several ways of entry, very easy to install
if you are looking for a new deadbolt, or just want to upgrade to something more modern, this is a great option. It is a very affordable, well-made, deadbolt, with multiple ways of entry.It is very easy to install, and should only take 10 minutes max. The rest you have to fine-tune in the companion app. It is very user-friendly, and allows you to set unique fingerprints, pin numbers, you can use RF ID cards, two are included, or even the emergency key, also two included. That way you know who entered, and when. You can also delete users, just as easy as you added them, so nobody can access the area, without your permission, or knowledge. Great product, great price, very easy to set up and use, it looks great, and works exactly like it is supposed to. Highly recommended.
