I must give 5 stars to this item because it is just as described in the posting. It is very easy to install and the wall anchors that come with it are the best I’ve ever used. I have several pewter sculptures displayed on the shelf and it handles it with ease. The approximate weight of the sculptures is around 25 lbs. It could easily handle more.The one thing I was not prepared for was how distressed the finish is. The ad calls it a rustic finish, but I would call it distressed. It has a rough texture, with minimal sanding and one of the shelves has a curved surface that is part of the rounded tree surface. Both shelves have dents and marks that were not finished out before stanning.All in all, this is a great product so long as you know that rustic is a loose term in the manufacturer’s vocabulary.All things considered; I would purchase this item again with the proper location in mind.

They are real wood. Stain looks just like the pictures. It comes with a guide sheet so you know where to place the holes without measuring. Just tape up the piece of paper, level and drill through the markings. Took us 10 minutes to do both. Very pleased!

Great shelves and GREAT customer service!! We ordered 2 sets of unfinished shelves, they arrived packaged wonderfully and we stained them and they looked great. We decided to add another set to the wall we were installing them on. The third set came and the knots in the shelves did not stain well, looked awful. Contacted the company and they were wonderful and responded promptly and our shelved were replaced with a new set that that stained beautifully! Love this company and their product. Would definitely order again! Bravo to a company that cares for their customers!

Okay so I ordered these because they had an overall high rating and a lot of reviews. After I had placed the order I began reading some of the reviews and got a little worried that I had made a mistake. Many of the one star reviews said the finish was poor, some of the shelves were warped and the hardware was no good. Since I had already placed the order all I could do was wait and see what I got. This review is based on what I received and you may have a different experience.I ordered the grey finish 24” shelves. Packaging was decent, no damage in shipping. The shelves had a nice matte finish with no chips or dents that other reviews noted. One of the shelves had a very slight twist but it was barely noticeable. Being real, solid wood I expected slight imperfections. If you want something perfectly straight I would suggest the fake wood options from ikea or Home Depot. The brackets seemed well made but were a bit thinner than I had expected from the description. The powder coat finish looked fine. The wall anchors were good quality metal self drilling anchors. I usually go buy these for most heavy items so I was surprised to see them included. The included template was accurate and worked fine to mark the wall for drilling. I would suggest always checking the template against the actual holes on the shelf before drilling your walls. Once I measured everything and had my holes marked it was a very simple process for anyone with basic home improvement skills. As for not needing a drill I can say it’s probably possible but a bad idea. It wouldn’t take much to mess up on the angle and not have a hole line up or end up out of level. I included a picture of all of the tools I used. The extra drill was just a convenience, you only need one. Some of the mounting brackets have a very slight angle so I would suggest holding them up to the wall to figure if there is an angle and make sure it’s pointed up when installed. The shelves slide onto the brackets and there is no way to lock them in place. Not a problem for my installation but this may be an issue for some. There is a slight gap between the shelf and the wall caused by the thickness of the brackets (maybe 1/8”). This isn’t too noticeable unless you look at the shelf from the sides right up against the wall. Again, in my situation this wasn’t a problem. They seem pretty sturdy even though I wasn’t lucky enough to have any holes line up with a stud. I wouldn’t put 50lbs on them but they should hold up to most uses.Overall I think they are decent quality and look nice installed. I would say that the price is a little high for what you’re getting. You could make these yourself for way cheaper but you’d need to spend some time and effort so you’re paying for the convenience. If you don’t mind the cost and can handle basic home improvement I would recommend these shelves.
