I never use the hardware given by the manufacturer. Those plastic anchors don’t work and are a pain to get in half the time. I use self tapping steel anchors to support shelves. With them, these shelves sit just fine on the wall.I haven’t put anything super heavy on them, but I did test to make sure the shelf wouldn’t move off the bracket.
