It is what we hoped for! Sturdy, fun and perfect for 7 year old + friends. It’s much bigger than the pictures make it look. Which was my holdup to begin with. I thought it would be too small, but it’s not. Perfect height. Love how as an adult I can stand at the edge of the bed and he is high up enough I can lean my elbows on the bed and smile at him back.MATTRESS I bought an 8inch Novila which was perfect height. Not too high, still has support and he feels protected and cozy inside the rails. Not afraid of falling over. I love the driftwood color!

My hubby is very handy with construction and putting things together. He has constructed a bed from lumber for one of our other kids. Like many people, he just lacks the time. Enter this cute bed for our 5 year old. PROS: He said it was very well constructed and solid. Even some holes that needed to be predrilled or fit very precisely, were as they should be. We had no cracked boards as some others mentioned. Instructions were clear and it is solid. CONS: Two of the large boards on the sides are very rough and not sanded as others mentioned. Also there are lots of pieces to this bed!!! Including a 75 page picture manual. Even for a handy man like my husband, it took over 3 hours to put together without stopping! Its true that the paint job could be better but that doesn’t bother me too greatly. The little shelf on the side is small and kind of useless. I will replace it with something else. The play area underneath is great for little kids but if I had to do over, I would not have gotten the drawer option. The drawer sticks out inside and takes up a lot of the play area. I included a photo of my 6 foot hubby telling our girl goodnight so you can see the size a little more accurately. Personally, I dont see a child using this much past the age of 9 or 10 as it is shorter/smaller than your average loft bed. My daughter is happy though, so ultimately we are satisfied.

Bed is very sturdy and looks nice but assembly took over 3 hours with power tools. If you have the time and the patience I would 100% recommend

We bought this bed for our 5 year old. The quality is amazing for the price. We have a Pottery Barn bed set for our son and this is on par with that. The assembly was easy enough, but probably a two person job to get the sides connected. My husband and I spent about 3.5 hours putting it together. You have an option to make the cubby hole on the left or right side. It easily held my adult self on top. I even stood on it and it was solid.
