Minka Aire F868 is quiet and works on its own or as a part of your smart home.
I have installed five of these in my home. I like the look of the fan, the quiet operation, and the smooth integration with my Smarthome (Alexa and Hubitat). The fan comes in a number of nice color choices and is easier to install than many ceiling fans of the same size. Even on a tall ceiling, you don’t have to lift a heavy completed fan up and instead you install in manageable pieces. The fan uses “Smart by Bond” automation which means it uses the Bond control system but over WiFi. This also means that there is no need to purchase a Bond Hub to control it. As smart home products go, this was super easy to integrate. If you prefer the included RF remote control, that’s great as well. I paired this product with the WC600 wall switch so that guests can easily operate it from the wall switch without searching for the remote. I own several other Minka Aire fans and still like this model the best for the ease of installation and integration.

Gives off a beautiful “moon glow” light
Beautiful and modern. Easy to install close to ceiling. I attached the remote control holster on the wall ð§± and put the remote in the carriage to make it a wall switch. Very quiet so we can watch TV. Love it

Great Looking Ceiling Fan
Installation was relatively easy, the instructions and the labeling on the wires and the connections were easy to follow and the whole installation took under 2 hours, including the time to disassamble and remove the old ceiling fan. The new fan looks great, the light is fairly bright and has a reasonable light temperature – not too cold, but not too soft either. The remote is already programmed and you won’t need to reprogram it unless you have another Minka ceiling fan in your home that you want to control separately. Compared to my previous ceiling fan, this one needs to spin faster to deliver the same airflow, since it has 3 blades, compared to 5, and the blade angle is smaller. This is not an issue as this fan spins very fast when you use the highest setting (6), but it is a bit noisier, though it doesn’t bother me much. All in all, this is a great looking fan and the materials and build are high quality. The blades are made of what seems like plastic, but it immitates wood pretty good, and reduces the weight and is more efficient, plus the blades will be much less prone to warping over time. The housing around the light is metal and the base is sturdy and leaves enough room to hide the wiring.

Love this fan!
I decided on a more modern-looking 60″ 3-blade fan to replace my old 54″ 4-blade in my bedroom. Appearance-wise, this fan looks great. As far as air movement, it is so much better than my old one. Easy to install, and it works well with Alexa, the app, and the remote. Dimmable light is also nice – bright at night, soft when all you want is just a little. It runs quietly up to the 3rd speed, but anything above that you can hear the whirring of the moving air. No mechanical noise, however. Minor point: I did end up with one “dummy” wall switch (my old fan had separate switches for the fan and light); this fan requires only one. It doesn’t bother me enough to go to the trouble of downsizing the two-switch box and repairing the drywall, though.

False Advertising, very limited smarts, no ecobee integration
This fan was easy enough to put up, about 2 hours. It looks alright and it is very quiet.However, this fan is barely smart. The listing and the sellers stickers on the box all day it works with Ecobee. It does not work with Ecobee. It barely works with Alexa. The bond app is nice, but there is almost no way to integrate this fan into your smart home.The best Alexa can do is turn the fan off and on and adjust the fan speed. The Bond app makes no mention of Ecobee, it lists SmartThings, Google Home, and Alexa. From within the Alexa app you can adjust the speed or turn the fan off/on. There is a slider called âbreezeâ but it does nothing.The only reason I bought this fan is to integrate it with Ecobee or at least set up a routine in Alexa to solve a specific problem. All it had to do was turn on when Ecobee was in heating mode, switch to winter mode, and then turn off when Ecobee turns the furnace off.Nope. This fan has nothing to do with Ecobee at all.For anyone expecting this fan to do anything beyond off/on via âsmartâ skills, do not buy this.

Great fan, hard to install.
It may have been me, but this has been the most difficult fan install I have ever done. The control box did not want to fit causing a major headache. There are also a lot of wires to connect with connectors. The remote seems reliable but I am not a huge fan of the extra light button for a light that my fan does not have. The reverse direction button is located prominently in the bottom middle of the speed controls which may be hit accidentally.Now on to the good, the noise levels are superb and the airflow is impressive. The smart controls are well thought out. I appreciate that in the app, the fan can choose to remember the last used light and speed setting when turning on and off via the switch, or default to a certain setting if desired. The color of the light is warm and not changeable, which I prefer.
