Perfect for Price
Item arrived on time on pallet at my door. Neighbor spotted delivery and it was a little rushed but they seemed to have the right equipment (powered lift). Item was very heavy but two people moved into house in two pieces without too much trouble. Packaging was intact and seemed ok. Table looked great and unit went together without issue. Unfortunately, when we went to sit down at the table we noticed a crack in the table top (it was very fine at first but grew as it took the weight). The table top was cracked on bottom edge of packaging consistent with package orientation.Messaged Modway with description and photos. Within 10 days they had another table top delivered (they did not replace the base as it was undamaged). Again delivery was on time and this time the table top was perfect. Customer service was prompt and friendly and I could not be happier with the result.Table finish is exactly as described and shown in the photos. Of course I would love to afford real marble but for the price you cannot beat this. Surface finish is similar to hard epoxy coating. It actually has a little give to it so when you drop a wine glass it does not always shatter! The description of “lacquered, chip-resistant finish” is very accurate. Table is sturdy and the base is perfectly weighted for the table top. Please note the 54 inch table top is heavy (package states 77kg/170lbs). I would suggest to Modway that:1. The packaging be improved to support the table top by its base rather than on the stone edge. I am not sure how many of these they replace, but screwing a piece (or two) of wood to the table base and integrating this into the pallet with padding might save a lot of damaged goods. The pallet was well constructed but the internal table top padding/support is a little insufficient. Would be happy to discuss with Modway further if they wish.2. Please assure that the delivery crew are trained in handling this piece. On both occasions I observed inconsistent handling of the table top (neighbor said it was a little rushed and I saw them “roll the pallet” on the second delivery).

Great Purchase, Beautiful, Sturdy Table
Your search is over. This is the table. I purchased the 40″ round table with white top and white base. I am the type that over-researches and can be turned off by one bad review. If you’re like me, let me put your mind at ease: the negative reviews here I just did not find to be the case for me. This was worth every penny. The table is gorgeous and sleek. The enamel is in perfect condition, no chips or scratches, after 4 months (though I do keep a table cloth on it and we don’t have kids, so it doesn’t get a lot of wear anyway). The surface is glossy and almost a little reflective as you can see in the pictures. It arrived within two days, well-packaged. It came in two pieces (the top and the base), and the top, while not too heavy, was a little bulky to carry so I recommend having two people to carry it if you are taking it up stairs. It was very easy to put together– took us less than 15 minutes. You just lay the top down on a blanket and then screw the bottom on.Size-wise 40″ was exactly what we needed. We live in a loft-style apartment and don’t have a separate dining room, so creating a dining space was a little tricky. I couldn’t have something too big that would overpower the living room, but also wanted something with enough space to have friends over for dinner. I considered the oval, but am happy I went with the round, and 40″ turned out to be the perfect size. It doesn’t look too small (tiny tables scream “college apartment” to me), but doesn’t take up a ton of room either. On a usual day we have it tucked into the corner, and pull it out when we have company. It fits 3 roomily, 4 cozily, and could probably squeeze 5 or even 6 (though 6 may be ambitious) if you’re playing a card game or something.Highly recommend.

I hate buying furniture online
I have had nightmare stories of no-returns, freight troubles, etc. So, let me get out of the way now: THIS PIECE IS TERRIFIC. It was just what I wanted, and the quality exceeded expectations. I will hopefully help others with some advice on the delivery and assembly.First, this piece came by freight delivery. The total weight of the item is 244 lbs. Not including packaging. This last part is important. The piece comes disassembled on a wood palette and the boxes are framed with wood, adding considerable size and weight to the packaging. The freight company called and asked whether I wanted white glove service. WARNING: this company’s white glove is to bring the pieces up an elevator to the 4th floor, bring into the apartment, remove and dispose of packaging, BUT NOT ASSEMBLE THE UNIT, for a whopping $150. Since we had a dolly, and my sons could help, we declined the service. The unit came and the freight guys brought it in on a pallet. I looked at the size of the pallet and I said they should have let us know -pallets like that don’t fit into elevators. I got them to, reluctantly, take the pallet with them and leave the boxes.I will repeat that the unit and base together are 240 lbs. The base is probably only about 40 lbs. of that, so know that the table top is both large, heavy and awkward.**If you are dealing with stairs or elevators and don’t have help, take the white glove service.** You will still face a challenge assembling the unit but you won’t potentially injure yourself carting it up.Once we transported the crates into the apartment, we noticed that one side of the crate had staples connecting the wood and the other has screws. Place the staple side facing down so that we could easily unscrew the wood crate protecting the top (otherwise you’ll need a crowbar or long clawed hammer and there will be lots of muscle involved).Once the top was unpacked, we placed it bottom side up and unpacked the base. (Note that the plastic hardware bag was broken so make sure you have all the hardware before discarding the bag.) We placed the base upright near the top and then I lifted the top on end and flipped and lowered it to on the base while my son held the base steady. If you have two adults, then you can simply deadlift the top and lower it on the base.Assembly was simply screwing the 4 bolts into the bottom of the base and to the top with the included Allen wrench.Be aware that the one big downside here is the amount of packing material that needs to be discarded (2 huge boxes worth). Some of it is recyclable, but a lot of it is Styrofoam, which stinks. Also, in breaking down the crate, you will have wood with lots of exposed, sharp staples, so, again, that might recommend the white glove service for some people who don’t want to break down crates.Overall, I was impressed by the care taken to package the unit, and as I said, the table is terrific. No one can tell this isn’t real marble. The pattern is perfect (no pixelation as someone else mentioned). I would totally recommend this piece!Hope this helps others.
