Great Seagrass Rug, But Know What You’re Buying
I’ve read the reviews on this rug so I see that a lot of folks have been disappointed. I bought it and was delighted, but I think the difference is that I was very aware of what I was buying and not everyone is. So, before you buy, here’s some info on this rug and those like it. (Also, for those who can’t get it to uncurl, the trick is to roll it back up the opposite way. The natural fibers will overwrite the fiber’s memory quicker.)I have a number of sisal and seagrass rugs, including everything from custom jobs for my stairs and kitchen to this one from Amazon that I had zero familiarity with other than background on material and weave. Lots of folks think all seagrass is the same or that sisal is the same as this, but none of that is true. This particular rug is woven into a less tight and more textured pattern, using a sturdy seagrass that takes a beating, but isn’t soft on the feet. It’s best used in places where wear needs to be hidden, but comfort on tender bare feet isn’t a must. It’s not for places where people wear skinny high heels either.I got this to replace one in my kitchen, which has hardwood floors, in a high traffic area for the dog as well as people. For that purpose, it’s perfect. The variations in color make any dribbles from glasses or dog drool invisible. The texture gives it stability for my dog as he races madly for dinner time, completely freaking out because there’s food involved. It’s also great because it’s winter and people are walking around in socks and this gives some protection from slips. So, I would say this is perfect for that.If you’re looking for a flatter weave with less texture against the feet, then you might want a boucle sisal and not a seagrass like this one, though those also stain far more easily. Also those are more pricey, if that’s a consideration. A sisal in a plain, tight weave of the exact same size with the exact same color border cost 2.3 times as much as this last year, so that’s something to consider. It was good quality, yes, but it’s more expensive in general than looser seagrass.

    A natural floor upgrade
I love how it covers my ugly linoleum floor beautifully. It is soft and warm to walk on, and gave the room an instant lift. I have two smaller rugs exactly like it, and they have held up quite well in busier areas. Very pleased

Nice, sturdy rug, but VERY hard to uncurl
I love the thickness and quality of this rug, but I wish they’d ship them flat! This particular material is not easy at all to uncurl–we’ve had 50lb weights sitting on either end for over a month, and it’s still curling at the edges! I’ve tried taping the rug down as well, but it’s too strong and will still curl up. You’ll likely have to iron this one or steam it to get it flat in a timely fashion!

    Prickly Rug
I came upon Farmhouse Seagrass Rug after looking at several other rugs. I was looking for a natural and simple looking rug to which seagrass rug fits what I wanted. The delivery was timely. It’s a 4×6 rug, and it came in a HUGE delivery box for such a small rug. It was, however, well packaged. When I laid it down on the floor, it has a natural scented seagrass odor. It’s pleasant. I didn’t have the same problem that some reviewers indicated that the corners kept rolling up or they curled up. I didn’t have that problem. With that said, I must say it’s definitely not the most comfortable rug to walk on bare feet. It’s really prickly, and in many areas there are sharp piercing materials that can cut into the bottoms of your feet. I don’t recommend walking on the rug with bare feet. I don’t like wearing shoes inside the house since I like to to keep the floor clean, so perhaps wearing socks on the rug might be better. I might go in search of a different rug that will be softer on my bare feet. This rug is best on an outside patio where you can step on it with your shoes avoiding getting pricked on the bottom of your feet by the materials.Overall it’s still a nice and beautiful rug. It’s just not for indoors where you can walk on with bare feet or let alone lie or sit on it.

Beautiful rug with true navy border
Rug is beautiful! Tightly woven so I’m hoping it holds up in my high traffic area. Vacuums easily. No holes or empty spots noted. The rug doesn’t want to quite lay flat yet. I tried rolling it the opposite way, stacking heavy items on the corners and spritzing with water and covering with a towel then ironing, to no avail. But that is my only issue with this rug. I’m still hoping it will give up and I’ll win the fight! I love it!Update: after 3 days and several times of rolling it in the opposite direction, the rug lays perfectly!

    Looks great!
Mine, as with everyone’s, came tightly rolled up. I wetted it down, rolled it up the opposite way in the sun and laid a couple of ankle weights over it for a little while, about 30 minutes. I unrolled it and it laid almost flat. I put double-sided carpet tape at each corner and a couple of strips along the middle. I placed it down and put the ankle weights at each corner, but put a couple of cut 2×4’s on the corners that were still a tiny bit curled up. We’ll see what it’s like tomorrow. But looks promising.

    Inconsistent
Weave direction and quality are not consistent and the color is darker than pictured. I purchased 2 of these to use as runners on my stairs. I had to return one because there were big gaps in the weave and a lot of loose and pulled fibers. I purchased a replacement which still had some imperfections but nothing I couldn’t get passed. Then we started installation and when we came to the second rug we realized the weave was running horizontally instead of vertically. For the price and if you just need a one off runner or rug they are worth a try but I would not purchase again for use on stairs.

For the price it’s okay, but any foot traffic makes the rug fray
My home does not have much traffic but the rug is starting to fall apart. For the price I guess it makes sense, but I wouldn’t reccomend for daily use

This rug is phenomenal, I can’t say enough good things about it! Yes it arrived rolled up but I have no idea why people are complaining. I am only a petite female and I put a couple medium weight boxes and within a day they were almost flat. Then I rolled it backwards once and it sits perfectly flat. The value for this rug is absolutely amazing. I would not hesitate to buy more for other areas if I need them.

Very nice runner. Real sea grass smell. Lovely border. Unfortunately too hard for our children and dog’s feet. Returned to get a soft carpet one.

Quality is really good but unexpected size, it is completely misleading from the pictures shown on Amazon, hoping to be used for a living room but it is more like a door mat 😒
