I’ve only used it once on a small project & it worked fine.
I needed to drill holes in my portable laptop desk so I could put a secure strap on to hold my laptop in place. Portable laptops used to come with this feature but I couldn’t find any that do so anymore so this DIY really helped me prevent my laptop from slipping past the lip retainer
