Product Overview
This Radar Motion Sensor Light Bulb is an innovative smart lighting solution that combines energy-efficient LED performance with advanced radar-based motion detection. The 2-pack includes two A21 15W bulbs designed to automatically illuminate spaces when movement is detected and turn off after a period of inactivity—no switches or timers needed. Perfect for hallways, closets, garages, stairwells, basements, outdoor walkways, and more, these bulbs offer hands-free convenience while enhancing safety and security. Unlike traditional infrared sensors, this model uses intelligent radar technology that detects motion through walls, glass, doors, and other barriers, making it significantly more reliable in real-world home environments.
Key Features
- Intelligent Radar Motion Sensor: Equipped with a built-in radar sensor that outperforms standard PIR (passive infrared) systems. It senses motion across larger areas and greater distances, and crucially, can penetrate obstacles like glass, veneer, walls, and doors—ensuring reliable activation even when line of sight is blocked.
- Energy-Efficient LED Performance: Each bulb delivers the brightness equivalent to a 100W incandescent bulb while consuming only 15W, helping you save on electricity bills without sacrificing light quality. This makes them both eco-friendly and cost-effective over time.
- Daylight-Aware Operation: Integrated light sensor ensures the bulb remains off during daylight hours unless motion is detected in low-light conditions. This prevents unnecessary activation and conserves energy by ensuring lights only come on when truly needed at night or in dim settings.
- Automatic On/Off Functionality: Instantly activates upon detecting motion and turns off automatically after approximately 17 seconds once no movement is sensed—eliminating the need for manual switching.
- Universal Compatibility: Standard A21 (E26/E27) screw base fits most existing fixtures, allowing for straightforward installation in lamps, ceiling lights, pendants, or outdoor applications without requiring rewiring or additional hardware.

Benefits & Use Cases
These motion-sensing bulbs are ideal for spaces where consistent, automatic illumination improves convenience, safety, and energy efficiency. They’re especially useful in high-traffic areas like entryways, stairwells, garages, attics, sheds, and outdoor pathways—anywhere someone might enter or move around without needing to flip a switch. Because the radar sensor can detect movement through solid objects like walls and glass, they work effectively in multi-room homes or layouts where traditional line-of-sight sensors would fail. The daylight-responsive feature ensures lights don’t activate unnecessarily during bright conditions, reducing false triggers and saving power. This combination of smart sensing and efficient lighting makes them a practical upgrade for modern households seeking automation without complexity.
Important Notes & Operational Behavior
Understanding how the radar sensor functions is key to maximizing performance and minimizing unintended activations. The radar technology continuously monitors its detection zone and responds to any movement within range—even through barriers like drywall, glass, or doors. While this greatly improves reliability, it also means the bulb may detect minor movements such as swaying branches, animals passing nearby, or fans operating in the area. In windy weather, near pets, or in spaces with frequent ambient motion, false triggers could occur. Similarly, if there’s a persistent motion source behind a wall or door within the detection zone—such as a working fan or someone moving in another room—the bulb may not turn off automatically. For best results, install in locations where primary human traffic is expected and avoid mounting near frequently moving objects like ceiling fans or pet play zones. During daytime use, the built-in light sensor will keep the bulb inactive until darkness falls and motion is detected.
First-Time Setup & Troubleshooting
When first switched on, the motion bulb will illuminate immediately—even during daylight—and remain on for about 17 seconds before turning off if no motion is detected. This initial behavior allows you to confirm the bulb is functioning. However, if ambient lighting is bright (e.g., direct sunlight or strong indoor lighting), the light sensor will prevent activation regardless of movement until conditions become sufficiently dark. If the bulb stays on continuously or toggles repeatedly, it may be responding to background motion sources like HVAC systems, oscillating fans, or animals. Conversely, if the bulb doesn’t turn on at all, ensure the installation location isn’t exposed to strong daylight or artificial bright light that could override the motion trigger. Always verify the fixture is properly wired and securely fitted to avoid intermittent contact issues.
Why Choose Radar Over Traditional Sensors?
Most motion-activated devices rely on passive infrared (PIR) sensors that detect heat and movement within direct line of sight. These often miss activity behind furniture, walls, or through glass, leading to gaps in coverage. Radar technology, by contrast, emits low-power radio waves that bounce off moving objects and return data about distance, speed, and direction—enabling detection even when obstructed. This results in faster response times, wider coverage areas, and greater accuracy in complex environments. Whether you’re securing a dark basement, lighting a dim hallway, or illuminating a backyard path, radar sensing provides dependable automation that adapts to real-life home dynamics.
With their dual functionality as both LED bulbs and intelligent motion detectors, this 2-pack offers a streamlined, future-ready lighting solution. No extra sensors, no complicated wiring—just smart, responsive illumination wherever you need it.

1 out of 4 doesn’t work but seller made it good
This is a difficult review to write. On the positive side, these work inside coach light fixtures where the other motion detector technology does not. They are plenty bright and the three that work pick up motion appropriately, stay on as long as motion exists and then shut off after 17 seconds when the motion has finished. Great for security around our home since I don’t want the lights on all the time but also don’t want anyone on our property, uninvited at night. The difficult part comes in that one of the 4 bulbs doesn’t work property – it goes on and off constantly, motion or not. Moved it to another fixture but still does the same thing (all three are on the same circuit). I’m concerned that if I return it along with a good one (they come in packs of 2 so I’d have to return 2) and then get back two that don’t work properly. Reading other negative reviews, the actions of the one that doesn’t function properly seem to be a failure point for the product. On the other hand, once I contacted the company, they immediately made good on the defective product – best response from a seller on Amazon that I’ve ever experienced. I’m sure now that I will have 4 working bulbs.

Works Like A Charm!
I ordered these to replace day-night bulbs with sensors for covered fixtures flanking the garage. They work like charms! Love them.

works a little too well
Ok, i’m surprised that these flood type lamps are pretty bright. They are 5000k so they are that whiter light that is great to brighten up dark areas like my backyard. I have two bulb sockets that were mounted high near the the top corner of the roof to illuminate the backyard. So the two lamps are spaced about 45 degrees apart to shine on the whole yard. They aren’t pointed down but maybe a little farther out to the corners of the yard. With that said, they are mounted pretty high, over 12′ and they are detecting some sort of movement. The lights will come on every 5 seconds. Almost suspect that there’s something triggering it besides movement as it’s a regular cycle. I”m going to have to turn this off at night which defeats the purpose of this light as it will bother the neighbors as it flicks on and off every 5-10 seconds. So i’m going leave it on hoping that there is some sort of break in period, maybe the bulbs will get dustier and block some of the movement sensing? But i have to say, for a small light and movement sensor embedded inside the lamp itself, it sure is working beyond what i thought, as it said it should work at about 3-5 meters. Anyways, 4 stars for now as they are bright and the light is more then i need, but the motion sensor is a little bit too sensitive.Update: i put a 1″ piece of electrical tape cut in half length wise on each side of the 3/4″ sensor or what i assume is the sensor in the middle of the bulb face. So like 3/4″ on each side i put some tape. I’m not sure if it’s the tape, but at least it turns off for longer durations now. It’s still detecting motion quite easily, but usually after 12am it stays off at longer intervals. So not sure what you make of that, the trees moved less? possibly. At first i put the 1″ piece of tape covering the center and it didn’t seem to want to turn off for whatever reason. I want to try put a few more pieces of tape on it as i think this will solve the constant on and off. i think i’ll position it so it covers half that middle black looking sensor right in the center. it was windy yesterday night so it came on excessively, so i hope it’s not bothering the neighbors too much. The extra pieces of tape should desensitize it a little more and i think it’ll be perfect.Update2: As temps been dripping after midnight its been staying off longer. Maybe 4 hours at the longest. Usually after midnight. I still will add two more small strips of electrical tape on the other two sides blocking just a little of the center sensor to desensitize it just a bit more. There does seem to be some animal movement triggering so overall they do work.

Very pleased
Almost one year later and the light bulb is going strong (haven’t needed the second one yet) even after it went through the summer in the car garage when our days here in Texas were a string of 105 degrees and the garage would get to 100 degrees.*****Sometimes I get home late from work and need a light to come on automatically in my garage so I don’t trip over anything. I often enter by raising the garage door since I park in the driveway and haven’t repaired my old garage door opener. I had previously purchased an infrared motion detector bulb, but it wasn’t activating at the distance I needed. The new radar bulbs arrived today. My garage has a wall switch which in turn controls a mechanical overhead light switch. I screwed it in, pulled the mechanical chain, and shortly thereafter the radar bulb came on with a bright light. After approximately the 17 seconds expected, the light went off. This is because I had my garage door open in the 5:30 p.m. overcast winter light which was enough light for it to consider that daylight. I then gradually closed my garage door until it was almost completely closed and dark, and the light came on.I realized I would still need a light for a low light situation. So I moved the radar bulb to a lightstand on a table with a large shade on it, and replaced the original CFL in the overhead fixture. The overhead CFL was bright enough to keep the radar bulb from coming on, which is what I wanted. When I switched off the CFL at the wall, the radar bulb came on in the dark, even with the large shade. So all good there.I went out of my garage and closed the door to get the other bulb to make sure it worked. Upon returning, I slowly open the laundry room door to the garage maybe an inch, and it was dark, but when I opened it wider, the light came on. I switched out radar bulbs, and the other one also worked. I stood motionless in the garage, and the radar light went off. With a half step, it would then come on.Time will tell, but my initial impression based on the results is one of being very pleased. Hope this helps.

This highly sensitive, radar motion, sensing light bulb works well and gives off ample light for our front and back porches. They are a great option if putting up a motion sensor lamp isnât possible. They could be used indoors too. I would recommend these bulbs.

buen producto. aunque la sensibilidad es bastante alta y se enciende con movimiento de plantas, seria ideal que tuviese un regulador de la sensibilidad de detectar movimiento

I replaced the bulbs on the exterior garage lights as earlier we had to leave them on when returning late at night as our lane driveway through the neighbourhood doesn’t have any street lighting & sometimes we would forget to switch them off upon return which would result in them running till the next day and assumably was annoying for our neighbours if their blinds were up. I had debated changing the whole light casing initially as there are some available in the marketplace which have motion sensors inbuilt and thus work with regular bulbs but they are pricey & I didn’t really find a design I liked within my price range. So I looked for motion sensor bulbs instead as my existing lamp was working fine but the issue was that the glass in it was frosted and the bulb fitted sideways not downwards and many motion sensor bulbs only worked with clear glass and with vertical instalments where the bulb head was pointing at the floor, not the wall – till I found this one!! The motion sensor is very sensitive & it actually senses through walls, from a large distance and works with frosted glass. If it wouldn’t sense through walls then I could use it on my patio as well coz’ when I tried it had false triggers whenever anyone walked inside the house so had to take it off as it started to become a nuisance. Better pricing or quantity discounting could also help as I had to buy 2 packs of 2 at regular price whereas many other vendors offer better pricing for that quantity. The dawn to dusk feature also works well but during cloudy days it comes on even during daytime for the ones that have a ledge over them. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for motion-sensing lights.
