Oak veneers give texture to the jet black finish. The table is sturdy and doesn’t slide around. Proportions of the width of base to width of table top are a decorators dream. I am using cane backed chairs with high arms and the chairs slide under the table with room to spare. Everyone who has visited is wowed by this table. Thank you to the maker of the table for all the help getting table delivered when FedEx dropped the ball and delivered the base but left the table top sitting at their Atlanta Hub for three days. My calls to bring this to FedEx’s attention got no results but they listened to the sender. Great service after the sale.
