A lock anyone can handle!
My dirty door aside, this thing has been quite the upgrade. If youâve ever installed a doorknob before, this will be cakewalk to installâ¦exactly the same, has 3 sizes of screws and some other âextrasâ (real men donât read directions, amiright?). If youâve never installed a doorknob before, still a cinch. Heck, this thing even comes with cutout templates if youâre truly starting from scratch! And those extras are and extra set of handle lock screw and little rubber nubs to cover screw holes.Back to those directionsâ¦they could use some fine tuning, but I think most can figure them out, and if not, a quick internet search will get you any answers you need from their quite helpful website.I do wish there was another retaining screw towards the top of the lock, but I also understand that would require drilling new holes into most doorsâ¦and it hasnât slipped on me yet.It also doesnât have any lock LED indicators on the inside, nor does the app seem to tell you the current state (a little more on the app later as it is very app dependent). Actual functions of the lock have worked like a charm, durability seems to be up there with the knob thatâs been on it for years. Fingerprint reader has been flawless, keypad is a little touchy, but thatâs better than not sensitive enough, I suppose. Programming the fobs was easy enough, and they work well, but we find codes/fingerprint are more convenient than digging into pocket for a fob. Last little tidbit, there is a âsecure lockâ button on the inside handleâ¦a little too easy to bump on/off when opening/closing the door. Now to the app. I rated it 3 on the Apple App Store. Comes with an ad on the bottom without an option to purchase it away. Very easy to use to just lock and unlock, set up codes, and fingerprintsâ¦but to change deeper settingsâ¦the app menu navigations isnât always the most intuitive and is bulked down with commercial applications as well and features that are only available to add on components (of which Iâve been bamboozled into purchasingâ¦the Wi-Fi gateway, if you inquire). Again, their website is very helpful in locating how and where settings are in the app.Batteries not included, takes 4 AA.If youâre still reading, they have solved the issue of âwho left the door openâ!!! There are currently 4 of us in the house and I assigned all of us different codesâ¦you can track history as to door opening/closing and who dunnit. Turns out it was me all along ð¤¦ââï¸

Lots of features, fingerprint read is pretty good
I have several fingerprint activated locks. This lock is typical of most, but has some nice features that I haven’t seen on others. Installation was straight forward and I did not encounter any issues. Make sure you check your measurements ahead of time that it won’t interfere with a deadbolt if you have one on your door. The App is easy to navigate. If you want to have the ability to check status or remotely unlock this you will need to purchase a separate Wifi gateway (typical of most), otherwise you need to be within a few feet of the lock to communicate via Bluetooth. Learning fingerprints was easy, but it only accepted 4 different positions of the finger during the learn. I like when the reader requires more, to give better reliability regardless of finger position. You will have to learn a new fingerprint for each finger you want to use (I usually do the index and thumb on each hand). The fingerprint read overall is fairly accurate. I get an unlock usually on the first read or sometimes up to 3. One of my other locks does not like a dry finger (when you are cold) and won’t open. This fingerprint reader did pretty good, but still struggled with the dry finger. One feature I was not aware of is that after several misreads, an alarm goes off and the lock is disabled. This Tamper Alert can be turned off in the App if you don’t want to use it. There is also a Privacy feature that basically disables all fingerprints and codes except the Admin. Make sure you set the Admin account up! If you add an optional door sensor, you can get the door status from the lock as well. This lock also comes with a couple of RFID cards that you can put on your keyring. Once you learn each card, all you need to do is swipe it on the lock to open the door. I have mixed feelings about using these – they are very handy and work reliably, but if I lose my keys, someone has an easy way to get in (I don’t keep the hard keys on my keyring). This lock can be paired with a wireless door sensor (not included with this model) to get a door status and also lock the door immediately as soon as it is sensed closed. Olumat does not sell the sensor seperately, but you can find compatible ones on Amazon (I purchased this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6M3DLT3?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title ) Overall I would recommend this lock.

Everything you need
I have installed a few WiFi Smart door locks on our new house … front door, pool bath, and door from owner’s suite to backyard. Two of the three are WiFi, while one is Bluetooth only. The WiFi locks are superior because we can change passcodes, turn off auto-lock, etc even when we’re not home. We can only change settings on the BT lock when we’re in close proximity. The only hassle with the WiFi locks is that they require a WiFi gateway near the door lock. I had to buy those separately for my other two WiFi locks. Now we have a 3rd Smart lock. I am VERY happy with this set! The materials and construction are top notch. It is a WiFi door lock, and it includes a WiFi gateway. Having installed other Smart locks, I only needed the instructions to get the QR code for the app used to program codes and such into the lock. Even so, I did look over each step of the instructions out of curiosity (some instructions are terrible. These are good.) The kit also included spare bags of hardware for whatever door thicknesses you might have.Installation was as easy, and set-up with the app was simple. The project took about 30min to remove the old handset, install this set, download the app, program the fobs, program fingerprints, and program a couple of codes. I tested everything, and it all worked great! I love using the auto-lock feature on all of our doors. I have ours set at 90sec which gives us plenty of time to make a couple of trips with groceries if needed. We’ve found it convenient to turn the auto-lock off if we’re hosting a party.
