Customer service was top notch!
This unit is replacing another key pad I’ve had for more than 14 years so I’m well versed in the ease and convenience of having one, but mind you, my unit was 14 years old, so there have been advances since. This unit is fabulous! The lock/unlock is smooth, quick, and much quieter than my last one. It is quite attractive. I didn’t install it, but I watched it installed and it looked straightforward and easy enough. I had a bit of trouble on the technical end regarding the app but I reached out and Eunice took away all of my issues and made it so simple for me. We are on a 12 hr time difference but I was being taken care of on a personal level nonetheless. It was easiest to be reached through Whatsapp so that is where we had a real time dialogue to address my issues until they were resolved and I was comfortable. I even got follow up messages to ensure I was all set and needed nothing further. And so very pleasant! Quite a refreshing experience. Much appreciated. Let me back up…these issues had nothing to do with the app or the unit. I have technical issues with pretty much everything, regardless. It just doesn’t come naturally to me. I love my new lock set. The price was more than fair, the quality is more than the price reflects, the lock is pretty, quick, quiet, smooth and has every which way to access your home via fingerprint, key pad, and key. One thing that did make me a little less than comfortable with my old lock is what I would do if the batteries died and I was on the outside. With this unit there is a USB to use with a battery pack if needed. This lock set is one that I would, and will, choose over and over as needed. Highly recommend. I’ve already forwarded the specifics to purchase to others so they can have to same convenience unlocked in their lives.

Nice, but could be better
This lock was easy to install. Directions area good and comes with a nice easy to read guide. The package was well protected to prevent damage during shipping.It looks nice from the outside, but the wife was not happy with the black plastic unit on the inside. She was willing to live with it since this lock was on a back laundry door. She would not want this for a more visible door. We suggest it be a white box since most doors are of a light color to help blend in. Our door is white. Even better, make that box to be thin aluminum to better match the lower handle or have silver color paint.I am not a fan of having to create a separate account with an email in order to use the smart phone app. I used a fake email since I don’t like to be tracked. The app is needed in order to create pass codes or fingerprints. It would be better to allow doing this directly on the lock, but that is not available.The Bluetooth hub that comes with it isn’t really necessary unless you want to communicate with the lock from something like Amazon Alexa or Google. I don’t use those, but did experiment setting it up to see how it works. I’m EXTREMELY knowledgeable of software, electronics engineering and Wifi / Bluetooth devices and found the hub to be very finicky to get connected. It would be detected by the app but would not install. I kept moving around the house and making sure I had only 2.4 GHz band activated. Finally, after the 5th try, it connected to my WiFi.Even with the shortcomings to us, the lock works smoothly, and the features of the app were easy to use. Once set up, it has been reliable, and the fingerprint detection has been fast and accurate every time for both of us. I do like the ability to autolock from a wide range of times as long as 30 minutes. Many such locks on the market have a maximum time of a few seconds or a couple minutes. This one obviously allows much longer time if needed.Lastly, I appreciate the proactive email from their support department before the lock arrived and a way to contact them if needed. That was unexpected and nice.

Horrible – forgets config
Hornbill is supposed to be good, not this product. It consistently forgets or can’t read finger prints.I have reprogrammed multiple prints, multiple times.Now we just use the key like a regular lock.Not worth the money, install time or the frustration that it will give you.

Amazing customer service.
Easy to install good instructions. After installing it the dead bolt would not turn all the way and only turned fully with the key turning it. Messed around but couldn’t figure it out. I Called customer service and they returned my call the same day, video called, walked me through the correct steps and had the lock fully functioning in no time. The product is well built and feels solid.
