I wanted to get something to protect the stairs going from garage into house. I was always cleaning and repainting the stairs as they constantly got dirty and scuffed. These work so well. I didn’t permanently attach them as they are heavy enough and have the lip on the front that they stay in place. I’ve had them over 3 years.

Nice fairly thick stair treads. I installed them on wood deck stairs that were slippery in the winter. Makes the stairs safer and less slippery. Great value for the money. Easy to clean.

My dog has bad arthritis and was getting very reluctant to use the stairs on my front porch because she would often slip. 2 stairs are wood, 2 are rock steps. I was afraid of her falling. These stair treads make it much easier for her to feel secure and have stopped her from slipping. I put one tread on each of the wooden steps, and one on the rock step. She immediately learned to use them and is much more confident going up and down the steps without slipping. I didn’t use the adhesive because we’ve had so much rain the wood steps are still wet. I just laid them in place and they have stayed without shifting so far. I will probably nail them into the wood once it dries out. But for now they are staying put on the wood and the rock without any adhesive, so I can’t comment on the quality of the adhesive yet. The treads seem quite sturdy. I’m happy with this purchase and would purchase more in the future if they hold up well in the weather.

I’ve been meaning to update the stairway to our 140 year-old attic after someone else did so in the 1960’s. These stair treads are an attractive and safe addition to utility staircase. They are easy to cut and the rubber is very gripping. I used 6′ of a heavier double-sided carpet tape for each tread in my application since the smaller rolls supplied don’t provide enough adhesive space for my tastes. Good product!

I ordered two sets of 5 treads and one 3 pack for my attic. I did trim the front edge of the treads so that they did not hang over the edge of the stairs- a trip hazzard in my opinion. I used a T sqaure and a very sharp box cutter to remove the extra materials. Once I got the hang of it it was pretty easy.Where I had issues was the attachment methods. Here is what I did.1). Clean the wood steps and sand hogh spots2). Measure the lenght of the actual stair minus the length of the rubber treads and divide the answer by 2 so that you center the rubber tread.3). Place the rubber tread on the stair and mark all four corners/edges with a pencil4). Cut the supplied 3M adhesive strips to fit the front of the wood stairs and I also placed one half of a 3m strip in the right and left rear corners going along the long dimension of the stairs. This helps to hold the tread down.5). Take a 3m strip and cut it on the long length into four even-width pieces. These should be about .5″ wide. Apply these to the front edge of the stairs.6) Apply a good construction adhesive to the top of the stairs in an X pattern starting from the front corner diagonally across to the right top corner. Repeat for the right front to top left. Fill in the opne areas with a .25″ wide bead of adhesive.7). Reniove the top layer of each of the 3M adhesives and discard them8) Place the rubber tread at your marks on the stairs and smooth the front edge onto the glue strips.9). Push pn the top of the tread in all corness and across the tread from front to rear and frm left to right to spread the adhesive.10) I used brown 17g x 1″ panel nails to help secure the tread. I nailed 5 places on each front piece and then one in each corner on the horizontal surface plus 1 on the back edge in the middle. A total of 10 nails for my applicationSounds like a lot of work but the instruction leaves a lot to be desired so this was my plan and it worked.See the picture for the final product. Took me three hours to do 15 treads including prep, design, trimming and installation.

They came rolled up; not flat, and also were coming out of the box. (Need to use a stronger box). Not enough mounting tape to do a good job. Just went to Lowe’s and bought one more roll …for $10. Hope it’s enough! Wish they were stiffer so the flap that hangs over the edge would stay at a 45°angle against the step and not curve outward and be wavy along the edge – looks like a tripping hazard if the front of a shoe comes up and catches on them. Great idea just needs some improvement in material and more mounting tape. Shouldn’t have to go buy more for the price.

I bought these for two outdoor porch steps. The choice was a gutter above the steps (costly and labor) or these to protect the steps and keep them from being slippery. Perfect! Got three, laid down two and cut the third one in half to cover the steps. the thickness is perfect. I didn’t eve have to tack or velcro, they laid nicely on the steps with no fear of slippage or tripping. nice to see rubber products again!

Quality is great, they will be easy to keep clean. We used them on our garage steps. I didn’t use the adhesive strips provided. Instead I used contact cement to adhere them. I put them where I wanted, with a pencil drew the outline of the tread on the step. Then painted on the contact cement on the back side of the tread and the inside of the line drawn on the step. And then carefully placed it on the step. They look amazing and seem like they will hold up great! (2 of the treads came in a little bent, but with the adhesive cement it smoothed right out). This 3 pack being less than $30 is a steal in my opinion!

The size of 35 x 10 inches is perfect for the average step, providing ample coverage. The installation process was straightforward, and they stay on the wood without any need for additional fixtures. One of the standout features of these treads is their non-slip surface. The texture is designed effectively to prevent slips and falls, which is especially important in wet or icy conditions. Since installing them, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in safety on the steps.Durability-wise, these treads seem robust. They’ve held up well against various weather conditions, showing no signs of wear or tear. The pack of six is a great value for the price, providing enough treads for multiple steps. Overall, the Spurtar Rubber Stair Treads have enhanced the safety and appearance of my outdoor steps, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to improve stair safety.

Installed these on my wooden front porch steps and they work great.Pros: perfect thickness (not too thick or thin), included tape is sufficient length, strength, and grip.Cons: treads are not made of recycled rubber (quite inexcusable), instructions could be better (doesn’t mention taping the front bullnose, I recommend doing so for a tidier look).Suggestions for the Manufacturer: some colour options (brown would be nice), offer in deeper size (eg. 12 or 14 inches).
