The new Moccamaster KBGV Select makes it easy to brew either a half or full carafe – the selector switch allows you to choose the amount you prefer. It features a glass carafe and an automatic drip-stop brew-basket that stops the flow of coffee when the carafe is removed. The KBGV Select brews a full 40 oz carafe of coffee in four to six minutes; after brewing, the coffee is kept warm on our unique hot plate. The hot plate’s independent heating element ensures that your coffee is held at the perfect temperature, no matter what amount you’ve brewed. All Moccamaster Coffee Brewers are handmade in the Netherlands and backed by an industry-leading 5-year warranty.

Love this Amazing, fast and smooth Coffe Maker <3 <3 <3
I got rid of my Breville Brewmaster Precision Brewer and replaced it with the Moccamaster KBGV Select. I couldn't be happier. First and foremost the brewmaster allowed for setting the temp but never made a cup hotter than 136 degrees unless you brewed a half carafe or more (approx, 32 ounces). Granted, the Brewmaster is bigger but what is the point of having a temp setting if it doesn't work. I wasted a ton of coffee just to get something hot (and no, the microwave ruins the coffee). This beautiful unit however can brew a single cup at a piping 186 degrees within 4 minutes; and it tastes great! The only downside is that you have no control over the bloom. Basically blooming is soaking the beans for a set amount of time before releasing to the carafe. I typically bloom for about 30 seconds. But here is a trick, start the brew before putting the carafe under the maker and you have a poor man's bloom! I never wait long enough to have it overflow over the top. This is pretty much unnecessary on this coffee pot as the coffee comes out great every time. Finally I have found a simple coffee pot that simply does what it was designed for without over architecting needless technology or any gimmicks. Some other tips:Never put tap water into these machines. Use distilled water and you will rarely if ever have to descale the unit.If you grind your own beans you can simply set the grinder to a set time for the measure. No need to use the spoon or anything.Everybody has a favorite coffee roaster. I stumbled upon Two Brothers out of Chicago and they have a consist process that gives me exactly what I am looking for in coffee. I use other brands for espresso.Enjoy your coffee!!!

Is It As Good As They Claim
I ask myself, what does a cup of coffee from a near $400 coffee maker taste like? Is it better than a $20 Mr coffee coffee maker? Thereâs videos and reviews across the internet from âexpertsâ who swear by this machine, I need to know for myself. Well, prime day discount made it closer to acceptable. Love the color options, finally settled on midnight blue. But letâs start with the gripes. For that price the water reservoir being plastic is sadly disappointing. And like everyone else who reviews these machines, the plastic bits are cheap and the carafe feels dainty, like a fragile toy. These things are disappointing. I literally sat by the door waiting for this to be delivered and I ripped it out of the box, set it up and fired up my first cup of joe from a very expensive luxury coffee maker. I even broke out some fancy crackers for the affair. I used the same beans, same grind, same amounts, same water, same cup, same creamer and sweetener, just like I do everyday and what I found was the coffe brewed in this tasted better. It tasted like coffee, not burnt, less acidic and I couldnât be happier. It looks awesome, no buzzers, bells or computers, just flip the button and in near silent hyper speed, coffee. The pluses far out weigh the cheapy plastic bits and carafe. (You can see it right next to my old coffee maker in the pics). A+++.

Expensive but very good Coffee Maker
The Moccamaster KGBV is expensive but it is a very nice coffee maker. I have been eyeing this coffee maker for several years and when my ancient Melitta BCM-4CB finally started to falter, I decided to upgrade. This is probably the finest drip style coffee maker made. I have a Pavoni I use for espresso and cappuccino and this Moccamaster is just as well made and as solid. The heating element is copper and heats the water quickly. This coffee maker will brew a pot as fast as a Bunn and is a lot easier to maintain and clean. Since the water reservoir and heating element are separate from the brew basket there is little risk of spilling used coffee grounds into the water reservoir as seems to happen frequently with cheaper coffee maker designs. Also it is heavy enough that I don’t think a damn cat on the counter or a clumsy adult in the kitchen could easily knock it off and break it, but they probably will try. The Moccamaster KGBV is Expensive with a capital E compared to most other coffee makers but it is a very good coffee maker.

After 12 years of solid enjoyment with an earlier version we purchase a new Mocamaster. Love the heating element and half pot over. The glass carafe makes for easy cleaning. Coffee tastes delicious.

The product came damaged! It’s a shame that after seeing so many reviews of this excellent product it comes this way. I gave myself the opportunity to make such a big expense and I am very disappointed.

No solo es bonita, veloz y fácil de usar. Lo más importantes es el excelente café que se obtiene.

Our grind and brew machine died on us and so we started using a French press and/or Areo press. Both options worked fine, but I like to make a pot in the morning so my wife can have a cup, and I can take the rest to work in a thermos.I started watching reviews on drip coffee makers and came across this unit. Everything about it was appealing.-THE LOOK- Aesthetically, it’s stunning. Timeless, classic look. It’s very clean, the textured finish looks very durable, doesn’t finger print, and the color choices are excellent. (I wanted the pistachio color but once I pulled the trigger couldn’t wait for it to be shipped so opted for my second choice). While brewing it looks neat as the water bubbles up the center column and into the outlet.-THE BREWING OPTIONS- Very basic controls, but the half pot select allows you to not only brew a half pot, but modifies blooming duration. From there the sky is the limit with grind options and strength without all the buttons and programming. It’s also pretty fast- full pot in 6 minutes.-THE TASTE- I’ve had it 5 days and have made 7-8 pots… It’s the best tasting coffee (obviously the beans, grind and everything can make the difference… but when I have a Tim Hortons or Starbucks it’s just not the same) and I drink black coffee.-THE DESIGN- If it ain’t broke… this design has been around for 50 years and is hand made in the Netherlands and comes with a 5 year warranty. It’s not ground breaking but that’s the point. Keep it simple. Quality parts, copper heating element, and separate elements for water heating and the carafe. The removable water outlet arm is a nice touch if it gets a fingerprint on it or if your need to clean- simply pop off.-THE PRICE- Ok, so this is super expensive for “just a coffee brewer” but personally I’d rather spend big money on a quality piece that has service able parts, rather than a machine 1/3 the price that may only last 2-4 years. This is a lifetime machine if cared for. Personally I drink at least 3 large black coffees/ day. Starbucks dark roast black is $4.00 CAD. It’ll pay for itself in no time.-THE ONLY NEGATIVE- The glass carafe seems really fragile and thin. I’m paranoid it will break. I do not allow anyone to operate my machine as I’m scared they wouldn’t be as careful as I when I rinse it.So if you buy pre ground coffee and want an easy pot of coffee, or like to grind fresh and experiment in grams per liter, ground size etc… but must have the best- buy this.
