Not as advertised, not made of wood, it is particle board, covered with a plastic sticky Mac-tac, which is already peeling off, shame on Amazon for allowing such false adverting on the products allowed to be sold through them . Did not to want to even give 1 star, but could not submit without .

Customer Service was great and I’m very happy with this shelf!
UPDATE: I emailed the manufacturer on the Friday late afternoon when I received the shelf to notify them that it came without any hardware in the box. I heard back from them first thing Monday morning and they promptly express shipped me the hardware kit. Once I got what I needed it took me about 15 minutes to organize and lay the pieces out. Then the assembly itself took me approximately 1 hour. I am very pleased with this shelf and impressed by the manufacturer’s fast response and quick turnaround to help. The shelf is quite adorable and very sturdy! I’m so glad I didn’t return it.********Delivered on time but sadly I’m unable to put this together because it came without ANY of the hardware. The hardware bag was completely empty. I emailed the manufacturer so hopefully they can send me out a hardware kit. I will update my review once I am able to put it together.

Two of the cam locks wonât tighten.
Not to bad to assemble. However once I had it mostly done I discover that no matter how hard I try, two of the cam locks for the screws to two different shelves will not tighten. The rest of the unit was secure so donât think it will cause a problem. Still holds weight. Nice looking piece. The hardware is not separated though and all thrown in one bag. Which isnât really a problem but some of the cam locks were stuck on screws. Which was mildly frustrating.

A lot better than expected
The shelf arrived with everything intact. It was easily to assemble, took me 1 episode of Best of The Worst to finish it. It took a drill and and screw driver to finish everything. You don’t need a drill but it’s just quicker. The shelf is a little cheaper quality than Ikea but it did perfectly matches my Ikea TV stand. My 9 pound cat did climb it and the shelf didn’t wobble so thats a plus. Expect a lot of saw dust from the packaging. Overall it’s a really nice shelf, pretty good quality, and was better than expected.

Pass on this one
So Iâm going to say pass on this one, which is rare in a review for me. This LOOKS good, from far away but its as cheaply made as can be. The wood is about as strong as styrofoam. The cuts of wood are unaligned, each shelf is about a 1/16 to 1/8th off with the dowels âguidingâ the backs onto them. The hardware strips if you even look at it wrong. The shipping packaging is poor, all the flat surface have obvious rub marks. The vinyl is about as thin as paper, it has a ton of knicks or edges that are rising up, I even added a small tear by SLIDING one of the shelves against another piece on accident. The holes for the main screws that the shelves sit on are plastic filled with a hole drilled in it that isnât big enough for half of them, which I overcame but the best part is because it uses this cheap system lining up all the screws to be perfectly straight or, in some cases, crooked to accomodate the poor dowels and cuts of wood. All-in-all, it was a nightmare to build if you want it to be correct. Once its together it feels rather sturdy, surprisingly enough. But if youâre closer than 3 ft away any imperfections will be shining brighter than the sun on it. If you want an affordable shelf that will only give you a migraine and be sturdy enough to hold some things, this could work. If you expect any form of quality, youâre better off elsewhere. The ONLY reason I didnât return it is because I am admittedly too lazy to deal with repackaging it and taking it to Kohls to ship back.

Attractive not super sturdy
Very attractive, easy to put together. Directions were simple to follow. I only needed a Phillips screwdriver! My only complaint is that it isnât super sturdy, but it was also pretty inexpensive so no real complaints.

Nice ladder bookcase – very pleased!
I purchased 2 of these ladder bookcases for my office/guest room and am very pleased with them. There were no damaged pieces and all of the hardware needed to assemble them was included. My husband assembled them both for me in about 2 hours. They are a very nice color. They are veneer but have the textured look of gray weathered wood that is very nice. They are nice and sturdy as well. Highly recommend!

Not the best quality
It arrived broken (in peaces, the vinyl was separating from the particle board,and the dowls were snaped off in the corresponding holes) and the styrofoam it was used to ship with was everywhere it was messy missed the return date due to being busy but it wasnt a good buying experience

Excellent ladder bookshelf
Great quality for this ladder bookshelf. Easy to assemble, sturdy, holds plenty of items, great price. The only issue was that one of the pieces came with no pre-drilled holes but we had the tools to fix that. I would highly recommend this for the price. Looks great!
