High Quality Attractive Shelves and a GREAT seller
Bravo! Enthusiastic 5-Stars. We ordered a total of 5 large wooden book shelves. They are high-quality, attractive, heavy-weight wood shelving units with a nice cherry wood finish.Four of the five shelves were fine, but the fifth unit was damaged during shipping. These are big heavy boxes, so didn’t know what to expect from the seller.BisonOffice has been amazing. Super responsive, helpful, and constructive. I’ve been able to photograph the damaged parts and they are sending our replacements. What a pleasure to do business with a honest and competent company selling reasonably priced, high-quality products.

Alot of styrofoam
Assembly was reasonable using a drill! The back piece is very flimsy and has plastic tape holding it together, stuck to which is a considerable amount of the styrofoam packaging. Styrofoam has been floating around the room for days since opening and assembling the shelf. I understand something has to insulate the shelving in order to ship, but this is the kind of styrofoam I think we all wish was illegal to use. Shelves are sturdy, and look nicer than expected once all put together- with the exception of the back part being very waify.

Not the quality expected for the price
To start with, only 2 pieces and the backing were labeled, so it was a mystery as to what and how to assemble the pieces. One of the shelves was separated from its overhanging piece straight from the box. It can be repaired with some glue and a vice, but I shouldn’t have to be immediately repairing while assembling. Lastly, the backing was so poorly taped together that it wouldn’t sit squarely on unit. We had to untape, and reconfigure the pieces to cover the back. Overall, it’s a nice looking bookshelf, and very solid.

Lovely home for my books.
This is a sturdy bookcase, suitable for a bibliophile like me. It is not my dream bookcase (you know, the ornate kind with ladders), but it is a relatively affordable alternative for a book home that doesnât bow or buckle under pressure like the cheap ones from the local stores.It was a little hectic to construct (we had duplicates of steps 5 and 6 and completely missing steps 7 and 8 so we had to wing it). But it is definitely worth the trouble. The backing is not the flimsy cheap cardboard and the instructions have you place extra screws in to secure backing to the dividers. If you arenât careful, to can miss/nick the dividers like we did. I chalk it up to user error. The backing has a small gap near the middle but once install is complete I donât even think Iâll notice. I still have to anchor it to the wall and install the shelves before my books move to their new home, but so far I am extremely pleased with my purchase. Will likely purchase a second because I donât think it is large enough to house my entire book collection.

Just assembled, and loaded with books, our third one!
First off, I agree the instructions may be a bit murky in spots, but any mistakes during assembly are easily remedied by easy dis-assembly followed by reassembly (thoroughly tested that part out). Our second and third bookcases went together without any do overs. We purchased the three bookcases over three years, one each year. Quality has always been first rate. Just for everyone’s information, three years ago, the entire kit was shipped in a single box. Pity the person delivering that package! Two boxes are a big improvement.The instructions have stayed exactly the same during this time, so no use complaining about that in your review. Think of the instructions as, well, just guidelines. You will need to use a bit of smarts to figure the puzzle out.Once assembled, and loaded with items, especially books, these bookshelves do look very good. Shelf height is easily adjusted. The whole piece is very sturdy, no sagging shelves what-so-ever.

Good bookcase with minor complaints.
I just received and assembled this bookcase. It is a fairly heavy and solid bookcase for the price. However, I have two minor complaints. First, the instructions were not easy to follow. Luckily I am pretty good at building and assembling things so I was able to figure it out. Second, the back panels of the bookcase are simply taped together instead of folded like other furniture backings that I have seen. The center of the backing had a visible gap that I could not get to close up, so I had to improvise and fix it myself. My unit was covered in styrofoam, which some ultimately ended up in the small gaps on the backing. It was a pain to clean since the styrofoam was sticking to the tape in the folds of the backing (see picture of small piece that I intentionally left for photo). Overall though I am fairly satisfied with the product. Just be prepared to spend some time cleaning it.

Nice looking, well built and good value
The bookcase looks very nice and well built. It’s a good value for under $600. I saw similar bookcases selling for over $900 elsewhere. It came in two boxes, which need 2 people to bring inside. Installation is not easy, but a lot of fun. It took me almost 5 hours to put the pieces together. People complained about the instruction manual is not clear. I found it not true. The step-by-step instruction is clear and just needs to be read carefully. The bookcase is very sturdy once installed. It is very heavy (over 200 lbs) and requires two people to move it, or you can put furniture pads at the bottom and then slide push to the position. Make sure that you secure it to the wall at the top to prevend tipping with the included hardware. Overall, I am very pleased with the bookcase and would definitely recommend it.
