Good storage with obvious design oversight
This is a well-made and handy organizer, and I would have given at least 4 or maybe 5 stars. BUT the manufacturer could have made it so much easier to install in my space. Like many cabinet styles, ours have a wooden frame that extends maybe 1/8 inch above the cabinet floor. No big deal, you say? Well, that slight lip is just high enough to block the unit from sliding out. So, I have a sliding drawer that will not slide.So, number 1, the horrible installation instructions do not mention this as a potential issue. And number 2, they could have spent about two cents to include spacers or stand-offs to solve the issue, for when it exists — and it will exist often. Or just make the mounting rails themselves taller. But since they did neither, I had to solve their poor design.I felt the easiest thing to do was to stack two large washers between the cabinet floor and the rails. This raises the unit just high enough to clear the frame and allow it slide out as intended. You can see an example of the washer in the first photo and may notice it beneath the screw in left side rail also.Their description says, “Installation canât be easier without any tool needed,” but that is not true. Heck, they include a tool — a hex wrench. My recommendation is to eliminate the sticky pads and instead reinvest the money in a solution to raise the unit to the correct height. I’m betting that is an issue for most users in the US. Without that solution, it’s a sliding drawer that does not slide unless you figure it out for yourself. 4 stars for the product, 1 star for making me solve their lack of real-world installation knowledge.
