So Far So Good. Very Likeable
This unit had some mixed reviews but I decided to go with it for the price of similar models and I have so say, so far, my wife and I are very happy with it. We can issue codes, give someone a fob, assign fingerprints, and track who is unlocking the door based on their specific code. Installation was very simple. The lock itself cam with a feature to add an additional point whereby it mounts through the door and I took full advantage of that. Should it not work out, I did add a small hole to my door, but I have a feeling all will be well with this one. Time will tell. Super happy for now.

Easy to install and app is easy to navigate
I work in the maintenance field and work with locks and handles all the time. This unit is solid in build and the design is very clean. The app is very much like other lock brands so I was very familiar with navigating it and programming the keypad. Programming worked perfectly first try for each input and never lost communication with my phone. Key pad is smooth and responds very well to touch. The finger print reader worked every time with every person programmed and this is currently installed in a cold location. The manual lock turns very smooth with no resistance and latches smoothly. I donât know how the battery life will last as itâs fairly new. The fit was perfect with two options for door depth. I would recommend this lock.

Solid lock with lots of features – Worth the money!
I purchased this to change the locks on our new home after closing, and installed it on June 30th.The installation was super simple – the instructions were clear, the included template was very helpful, and there were also video guides available as well if needed (although I didn’t need to use them). While the container/shell is made from a hard plastic, all of the moving parts and mechanisms are made of metal and are solid and durable. The lock feels extremely secure and reliable. The companion app that comes along with the lock is very well made, and while there are some weird translation issues (which is normal for products like these), everything works exactly as expected with no hiccups or bugs. There are TONS of features available – the lock is super customizable and everything can be managed from the app easily. New admins can be added very easily as well.In particular, I like that I can generate a new code on the door and set it to expire whenever, thus eliminating the need for hidden keys or anything like that. Whenever a handyman or friend/family member need to come by and we aren’t here, I can just make them a new code and set it to expire the next day and never have to worry about them getting back into the front door again.I also really like that there’s an auto-lock option – it’s a great way to have peace of mind that the front door is always locked. You can set it to 5/10/15/30 seconds, or choose “custom” and set it to whatever timeframe you want (in seconds). For us, we have a 10 minute auto-lock set, which means that even if we forget after going in and out over and over again (moving and whatnot), we know that the door will always be locked after ten minutes. The fingerprint setup is a breeze, the RFID reader works reliably, everything is great – if I had to point out any one con, it would be with the keypad screen – it’s kind of a pain to reliably wake up sometimes, and lags a bit when coming on. But that’s the only real downside we have been able to find with it. Other than that, this lock is awesome, feature rich, reliable and well built. Worth the money.PS: Also, Veise’s customer service is awesome. When I first got the lock, I realized that I only got 1 RFID scanner instead of 2, and after reaching out to them, they explained that other RFID cards can be used with the lock, and then refunded me back 30% of the total cost to cover the cost of purchasing new ones separately. All of this happened within 12 hours of me reaching out the first time. Nice job, Veise! 🙂

Good features, performs well, fingerprint is great, but device auto-locks even if door is open
Overall I am happy with this smart lock, and would recommend it in spite of the flaw mentioned in the headline. The Veise smart lock was not difficult to install (it took 10-15 minutes), and the app has many features. All the features I have used function well, especially the fingerprint reader. The one time I contacted tech support (via email), they responded in a few hours. I did not try to call the tech support number, so I cannot comment on that. The smart lock can pair with a wi-fi gateway so that you don’t have to be near to the lock to control it, but like all smart lock gateways I have seen, it does not work with the most modern 5 GHz wi-fi signal, so if you also purchase the wi-fi gateway, make sure your home router supports the older 2.4 GHz signal (most routers do), and that the distance between the gateway and the door lock is within 32 feet (9.75 meters). The fingerprint reader works 99% of the time and unlocks in about one second (much better than the Bosma fingerprint reader I used to have!). When fingerprint reader didn’t work, it was because my finger was wet (a problem with all fingerprint readers), I removed my finger too quickly, or I did not position my finger correctly. The reason I gave this smart lock 4 stars instead of 5: the app has a setting for auto-lock after a set amount of time that the user can choose, but the device automatically locks even if the door is open. If it auto-locked only when it was closed, I would give it 5 stars. After looking in the settings of the app and not finding a way to auto-lock only if the door is closed, I contacted the company asking if it was possible if this was possible. They said it was not. On a positive note, their tech support responded to my email within a few hours.I was going to ask Veise if they could perhaps implement this feature, because in their app DDlock I saw in the settings something that says, “Door Sensor” that might seem to let the app know if the door is open or closed. And then I thought the name of the app, DDlock, seemed strange to me, why isn’t the name of the app “Veise”?So I did a little research, and there is another company that makes this lock and the app, and Veise simply puts their name on it and sells it. This is *not* a bad thing, but buyers should be aware that Veise has no control over the features (or the bugs!) of the smart lock or the app.
