Loaded first light, how hard the plastic was, clips were a struggle to engage for battery housing.Brand new energizer batteries. Contacts would not engage properly and the led lights fluttered in and out and only lit up when I pressed housing together.Three times I took apart to reset batteries ony to get same crap result.And oh boy what a struggle to get the clips released to remove batteries. Thought they were going to break each time I tried.Packed it up and scratching me head about other reviews.To returns now.

Bought this two pack of lights after trying a MR BEAM twice,, both mr beam lights at 58 dollars each did not work! Got both of these for less than the price of a single mr beam and they work perfectly! Would highly recommend this product.

Important Installation Tip
These lights are quite good. They have a long detection range, bright white LEDs, and a good pattern. They take 4 D cells which last me well over a year in my driveway. Since they don’t depend on the sun hitting them for power you can mount them under your eaves, in the shade, or inside a building. I’d like to give 5 stars, but two things stop me. First, where the stalk mounts to the base it can only move in a single plane so you have to get the base mounted in the direction you want to move the stalk rather than adjusting it after installation. A ball and ring mount would fix that.issue.Second, you have to be VERY careful to not touch the O-ring seal. If you touch it at all it will come out of the ring and come up against the three locks. If you don’t notice, it will cause two issues when you try to install the light in the housing: (1) You’ll tear the seal, eliminating the waterproofing and (2) it will be near impossible to engage the three locks because the seal is in the way – and the more you push and turn, the better your chance of destroying the seal. It’s also very difficult to get the seal to stay on the ring when you put it back.I have reduced my rating by another star because I have found that one of the pair is extraordinarily sensitive – so it is on almost the entire night. Anything turns it on. It went through 4 D’s in a week, and now the second set is dead, too. I aimed it at the ground, but to no avail. Eight dollars a week in Alkaline D cells is not OK!

Nice and bright!
I find the lights on this is bright and provides good lighting from my basement garage to the back door of my house, including stairs. I would recommend this light for areas that you want to ensure safety.

Lights stay on
Used the light to light up the back yard and it seems that the motion detector does not work. Light just stays on

we have a dog, this is exactly what we needed, she goes in and out when she wants and we no longer worry about turning the light on and off! It’s perfect and works very well

Ordered them for the dog and I to go out at night. Motions detector works perfectly and they are nice and bright. I had a hard time closing the housing that locks in the batteries, but if this is the only thing I have to complain about, that is pretty darn good!
