great bunkie board at great price
Our guestroom queen platform bed wooden support slats were falling apart. I just got a new expensive mattress for the bed and read that metal bunkie board would provide more support and keep the mattress healthier for longer. After reading the reviews on this ZINUS metal bunkie board, I ordered it. It took a couple of days longer than I expected to receive it but it was during the holiday madness. Arrived in 1 long, flat box. All the pieces were there. Instructions were clear, and it was SO quick and easy to assemble! Everything clicked into place and nothing was defective or the wrong size etc. It fit well in the queen platform bed frame. There was maybe an inch or less of space between the bunkie board and edge of the platform, but it did not slide around. The mattress fit exactly in the platform frame so it did not slide around on the bunkie board so I did not have to use the adhesive on some of the slats that were supposed to hold the mattress in place. All in all, it was a great product that was very easy for 1 person to assemble, and it did exactly what it was supposed to do for a GREAT price! I have no complaints.

Still need bed slats …
This fit the two antique bed frames (double/full size beds) we purchased them for, really well from head to foot. The width is slightly less than the ledge the bed slats sit on, so we kept the bed slats, and placed the bunkie board on the slats. It works as a box spring replacement perfectly well. The beds we have are antiques, and the slats kept getting spit out, usually around midnight, and dumping the poor sleeper onto the floor with a loud BANG! Discovering that the slats had shrunk in our dry climate (Colorado) and the head board ‘leg’ was loose causing a slow, creeping, bow legged effect which drifted the side rail outward as the weight on the mattress pushed down/outward and the slats suddenly lost purchase. We remedied this by screwing the slats to the frame-ledge before adding the bunkie board. The bunkie boards are sturdy, don’t rattle and now that we’ve screwed the loose parts down, everyone sleeps through the night without ‘sudden relocation’. Assembly is easy. The second box arrived looking like it’d been through a shredder, and it wasn’t until assembling the parts that I found some mangled corners. but I was able to bend the two mangled corners back into place with a pair of simple pliers (I’m a 60 yr old woman, so we’re not talking about a beefy welding wizard here). My hubby was supposed to help, but he was on a business trip with the second one arrived, so I huffed and puffed the assembly solo. The instructions are blessedly simple and it doesn’t take long at all. And the huffing and puffing was due to manhandling the mattress onto the bed by myself. The bunkie board I simply assembled on top of the bed slats – no lifting required, and the room was too small to do it anywhere else. Just watch your feet going between the slats carefully so you don’t embarrass yourself (not that anyone would trip over a bed slat, like, umm, I might have …)

Great alternative to deep box springs and foundations under the deep mattresses
Box is not light as this a well built and sturdy bunkie board. Once I realized that bunkie boards were made for cases where you didnât want height of mattress and box spring, it was clearly the best option for me. Fairly easy to put together but check all of the pieces, one in our set was marked wrong but it all came together fairly easily. I built on the bed frame putting top, bottom, left and right sides together and then setting the small slats. Very sturdy. I had a 9â foundation under a 13â mattress which made it a climb to get into the bed in our guest bedroom. This was easy and so sturdy. I do wish I didnât uncover the adhesive strips that are on 4 of the slats as the mattress really didnât move much within the bed frame and this does keep the mattress stuck a bit off center which only noticeable when I put mattress pad and sheets on – one side tighter to the frame than the other but not a big deal.So much cheaper and easier than getting a thinner queen sized foundation.

Width a tad short but otherwise perfect for my needs
I have one of those fabric bed frames with fabric headboard. Its really beautiful. However the boarder frame on the inside that goes around the inside of the bed where u put the slats down is wood. I’ve had 2 of these bed frame beds and both had wood slats. One came with a ton of slats and the other came with only 4. The wood slats broke on the first bed, they arent very good for these beds in my opinion. Not strong and sturdy wood slats at all. But my point is this product is a perfect solution. I ended up throwing out the frame on the bed that broke because where the breaks were it couldnt be salvaged. I didnt want that to happen with bed number 2. I put the frame together and the 4 weak slats. Then this product came to mind. My first bed was a regular mattress and I guess the wood slats replace box spring so I didnt have box spring. The mattress was older and everyone in my house had a memory foam mattress so I finally upgraded. I have a queen frame and queen mattress. Not only was I worried these weak wood slats wood break again but my mattress was sinking between the slats. Everything felt like a horrible nightmare bedtime wise. This product saved me. It was completely simple and quick to put together. You simply attach each side together to form the rectangle board frame. All hardware and tools are included. Only took a few minutes to do. Then you just snap all the slats in. The just push down into all the little openings, you dont even have to mess with twisting and turning more screws. I hate putting furniture together but this was a simple fast easy breeze. I laid this board right over the wood slats and it damn near was a perfect fit. The length is perfect fit for a queen bed. I gave 4 stars and would have gave 5 stars but I found one issue. Now this holds my mattress up where its supposed to be, no more sinking and unevenness. The bed supports it well, everything is strong and sturdy. 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the width. Its a little short but not by much at all. I couldnt find anything with a tad bit bigger width that I needed and all descriptions with these measurements said its for the average standard size queen so I just took my chances. Its still enough for me to love it and keep it but if I had to guess I’d say it could be about a centimeter to a half inch longer in width and it would have fit right in snuggly. This is why I had to lay it over the wood slates or one side wouldnt sit up properly on the wood boarder on the inside frame. It was either the description or other reviews that said laying it over the current frame/slats was fine and it is. Hope this info helps. I’d buy again if another bed in the house has issues with the wood slats again

I bought this to turn my standard bed frame into a low profile bed and it is perfect. It was super easy to put together and it fits the frame perfectly. It is supportive for my new mattress and works great. I have no complaints at this time. It feels solid and it doesn’t slide around like people say it does, but it does make the mattress easy to move if needed to. I didn’t use the sticker things, because the mattress doesn’t need to be stuck in place.I highly recommend it for anybody who wants to do something like that or just wants bed slats. Excellent product and excellent quality. I put it together myself in no time at all.

The wooden slat supports in my current bed frame had crumbled and broke, no longer allowing my slats to fit in correctly to support my mattress. This bunkie board solved the issue completely, fit my queen size frame like a glove and now my mattress lays on top so nicely. I have never been so excited to sleep lol the sticky strips on the top and bottom are helpful to prevent the mattress from sliding off. The hardware is so beautifully packaged and the assembly is quick and simple. One person can easily complete on their own. We only had one issue with the one bolt not threading on the middle post, however with 3 screws itâs secure and very tight so itâs a minor factory flaw. Not worth complaining much about, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. However the factory flaw, we do highly recommend! Very durable and of high quality, the cost seems high for metal, but I am very impressed!

This was an amazing find. We purchased a new mattress for our king sized bed. Like most new mattresses today, it did not require a box spring. The problem we had was that our bed frame was designed for use with one as it only had 3 slats. We tried putting our new 21â matress on top of our old box spring, but as you can imagine this made the bed so extremely high, that I couldnât get in it without a struggle. We thought we would need to get a new bed in order to accommodate our new mattress. Then I stumbled upon this AMAZING product! This replaced our thick, high boxspring, by fitting perfectly inside our existing bed frame. We now have a bed frame with multiple support slats, and can put our mattress directly on this new support system! My bed is now a normal height, and this product works flawlessly! My husband says it was easy to assemble as well, and came with clear instructions. We are thrilled with this purchase!!!

Solid, easy to build. Would give this 5 stars but some small design issues. The sides are about 1 or 2 inches too short to fit in the bedframe perfectly (with a small gap of course). It does not fall off my standard metal bed frame, but if you have frame with lip that is tad short it could fall off. I used pieces of the foam packaging it came with to wedge in the gap so it won’t slide around even an inch. The other issue is the gap between the rails will leave pretty sizable dents in your foam mattress on the bottom side. A tight cloth cover really should be added with this frame to stop this from happening. As such you could use pieces of cardboard or some thin plywood to cover the frame to avoid any uneven wear to the underside of the mattress. Once the mattress is on there is no movement to the base or sounds of squeaky metal. It comes with some sticky tape to help stop your mattress from sliding, but honestly you will likely need to buy some mattress stoppers or a foam anti-slide topper because there is zero friction so the mattress easily shifts off the frame each night.

I am a very handsome big bear. I purchased a bed from one of those places where you have 1000 parts that you have to put together by following crappy instructions. The trouble with these companies is that they use cheap pine boards to make up the slats and supports for the bed. I knew that after time these would start to dry out and crack as there are so many knots in the cheap wood that it is bound to fail. I called the store to complain about it, but they just told me I could buy replacement slats which were, well, pine board. After weeks of searching bed companies online, I found this SPECTACULAR product. I measured carefully and figured this would fit into the bed frame making it a much stronger support. So I ordered it in QUEEN and waited. The package arrived and EVERYTHING was inside, packaged so amazingly well. And get this, unlike those other stores that give you EXACTLY the amount of parts you need, these people give you extra of the screws as well as the plastic wedge holders that hold the slats in. Only a caring company would bother to give you free extra parts saving you a trip back to the store, lining up for and hour only to get ONE part to complete the project.I mean look at the instructions: COLOURED and CLEARLY LABELLED! These instructions made it so easy to put the frame together step by step. And look what else they included. In addition to the standard Allen Key they send, they also put in this RATCHET which is FABULOUS! No more banging my hands against the wood when the screw is in a tight place. And you get to KEEP it.Every bed is different based on whether or not there are enough boards along the sides to sit this on. My bed had wood along the side pieces which was a bit wider than the frame itself. I used sheets of thin styrofoam on both sides of the frame to center it to the bed. If you don’t have styrofoam, small wedges will work. My bed does not have any wood supports on the headboard or the foot board. This concerned me as that meant only the sides were supported. I went and purchased some L brackets to support the head and food board along that axis. You’ll see them in my pictures. Now, if you are a big person like me, expecting this to withhold a lot of weight particularly in the middle if you don’t put in some kind of support underneath is going to end up disappointing you. The pine boards had two “feet” that connected the middle beam to the floor. If you are smart, you will also pick up some adjustable feet that you can put under the middle beam for support. I used the old wood as a spacer to make sure the pressure was along the spine. THIS FRAME IS PERFECT. Now my mattress is secure, I can move around in the bed without worrying about the Gods of Pine forsaking me and sending me to the floor.I seriously cannot think of a better solution to BEAR-ifying my bed! GREAT COMPANY. GREAT PRODUCT.I am a verified buyer. You can tell them Daddy Bear sent you!!!!!
