Best affordable coffee maker you can find
I am a pretty serious coffee snob – I have a lot of coffee making apparatus (pour over, chemex) and an elaborate espresso machine setup, as well as multiple grinders. I never thought I would actually own an automatic coffee machine but when it came time to buy one I asked my coffee geek friends and they consistently recommended the Bonavita as one of the top choices. It was also the most affordable among the choices they recommended (the others being the Technivorm Moccamaster, the Ratio Eight, Ratio Six, and various others). That said it costs more than many other mainstream brand coffee makers. But here’s the thing – this machine works like a charm, and it does exactly what a good coffee maker should. It heats the water up to the right temperature, pre-infuses (if you turn that mode on which I do), and evenly distributes the water to saturate the coffee grounds, and extract a delicious pot of coffee. It’s quick, easy, and makes consistently flavorful coffee. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for a long time, I’ve had no issues with that at all – but as others have pointed out you do need to put the lid on right after the pot is done brewing because you cannot brew with the lid on, and obviously heat escapes quickly without the lid on. Others have complained about pouring with the lid off, and even some complain about pouring with the lid on. I haven’t found either to be an issue, you just have to sort of get the hang of it.I’ve made dark and light roasts with different grinds (coarser and finer) and been quite happy with the results. A good burr grinder is a must obviously, but these days you can get a good one for relatively little (I am using a Breville and it works like a charm).I’d strongly recommend this to serious coffee drinkers – it’s a bit of a no-frills design but it’s the best automated version of pour over I’ve found and if you care more about the flavor of your coffee than bells and whistles, this is a great machine for you.

It’s worth every penny
I was really nervous buying this brewer because of others reviews. I had bought a Mr. Coffee and put hot water in as they suggested before using. With two hot water cycles, it left my backsplash wall and my upper cupboards wet (even pulled away and out from the cupboard). It was nearly as expensive as the Bonavita. I promptly returned it and became nervous of buying another coffee maker. Will they all leave that much steam in the air now? (I had my first coffee maker for nearly 25 years.)I LOVE my Bonavita. The taste is exceptional. I didn’t even realize my other coffee sitting on a burner actually made it bitter. I had no idea what I was missing. Second, it is designed where it looks classy and clean. I like that it doesn’t have a clock feature. It’s one button and it’s easy to clean, wipe off. Third,it is FAST. It brews a pot very fast. (Love the beep feature when it’s done too.) Fourth, it is plenty hot and even an hour later, it’s still hot where I don’t have to heat it back up. I was really nervous that it gets cold fast after I read other reviews. No, it is not luke-warm even an hour later, and it still tastes as great as when I first made it. I bought this model because of more insulation, and the temperature of the coffee is not an issue.I know people complain that you can’t put the top on the pot with the grounds in place. But, I just take the grounds out, dump them, and rinse it out anyway after the pot is done brewing. I don’t see what the big deal is. Also, I read people have difficulty filling the water reservoir. I haven’t had an issue with filling the reservoir either or leakage of the pot. I I would rather have this height than makers being 14-16″ tall. I was looking for one around 12″ that was streamlined. And, I found it. So, don’t let other’s reviews hold you back. I am frugal, and I so glad I bought it.

Decent⦠if overpriced
Just brewed my first pot. My first impression after taking it out of the box was that it felt light and plastic-y, which I wasnât expecting at this price point. It has fewer parts (e.g., no heating element, no spring mechanism on the basket to avoid dripping), so I am confused why it costs so much. This is simple and makes good coffee though. Common sense, no frills. The big selling point on this for me was having something that produces consistent water temps and a shower head. I am happy with it overall, but donât think it should cost 2-3x more than other coffee pots.

Bought this on a recommendation from a friend and happy that I did. It took 11 days to get to Edmonton and when I opened it I discovered that the cheaper 1900 model arrived instead of the 1901 that reviews recommended because the basket would tip and make a mess. We decided to test it before we returned it and found that removing the pot with the basket was easy if you removed it over the sink and removed the grounds later. I received the refund for the price difference in only 2 days along with an apology. I believe the the cheaper 1900 with the basket on top might deliver warmer coffee just be careful sliding it out and warm the pot first with hot tap water for better tasting coffee that stays warm longer. Small footprint, low height and one button a plus but the water resivor could use larger cup markings and on both sides. A black ink marker solved that deficiency for consistent results and the best coffee flavour and strength.

We bought this to replace an old mr. Coffee machine that broke. We decided to buy something a bit more expensive and would be more flavourful. After a lot of research and review reading, we settled on this one. While itâs not as strong as a true pour over, itâs quite delicious. We are not coffee snobs, but do enjoy a great tasting cup of coffee. For us itâs great, and brews fast for when we are on the go. It also pours water evenly over the whole filter, which is great! It is easy to clean and minimal mess! I high recommend this coffee maker if you really love coffee, are not a total coffee snob and just want something delicious and simple!

La mejor cafetera que he tenido, ya llevamos tres meses con ella y muy bien. En la jarra térmica el café puede durar caliente 8hrs y a veces un poco más.
