Decent Lock
Updated! The company reached out and assisted in this issue.Updated! Decent Lock but the Gateway it is difficult connecting (bluetooth) to Google Home, App is lame at best!! I connected the Gateway to the Life Smart App ok, and the Google Home app picks up the Gateway ok. Note: When using Google Home to lock/unlock, the big rectangular lock Icons are blue when locked and grey/not colored when unlocked (took a while to figure this out). Initially (the first 24 hrs) the Smart Life app often showed a small note in green at the bottom stating the locks s as “not connected to Bluetooth, which means you cannot use the app. Then as of today (24-48 hrs later) it does not seem to be happening. There is no reason this should be have happened and it was very concerning/frustrating. I have an updated Samsung phone 2023/Galaxy S23 and the locks are new. I think the Bluetooth protocols are old or not compatible with newer phones. It connected and disconnected randomly.The result is the lock work with the app ok and now Google Home but it is glitchy and the manufacturer should tell you these things, admit it is glitchy, and give you tips on how to deal with it or fix it and do proper testing with different internet wifi’, Bluetooth protocols, etc. Finally the Instructions in the package show pictures/screenshots of the app that are old, the screenshots show a green line item called Settings and now it says More in the app which is confusing, and also the More fields/line items are wonky/out of place for that screen. The Smart Scenes are not explained at all in the instructions, they are VERY hard to figure out and the two header line item categories don’t make any sense nor do the next pages they lead you too? The navigation layout is very bad too! It seems like some 16 yr old developer in his first college developer course produced them. Zero user testing was done I’m sure. What a horrible attempt at the higher level Smart if/then functionality. Obviously, the owner and senior mgt at Hornbill have never used this app and don’t care about their product.

Instructions.
Need better troubleshooting instructions. Call customer service they said ibwouks get s probe that night no call. Got an email the next morning.They are lucky I understandåå§å宿. I was able to fix it. Myself.BTW The app was displayed I. Traditional chinese.If the rep on-the-phone ells you that support will call I expect a phone call not an Email.I was looking at buying another lock set nut I need to see changes.Better app other than TTLock app. It has Ads Dont understand why you need. 2 apps to run the doorlock. IBTW The I strictly. Video they supplied didn’t cover my issue.

Stopped working less than 2 months
Will not turn on at all despite replacing batteries. Customer service located in china. Will update review if they replace it. Its been very Cold in NY but if it can’t survive the Cold than it shouldn’t be rated for it. I wouldn’t buy I again. The only reason I want it replaced is because of the door/door jam being adjusted to fit for it. Don’t waste your money. But something more reliable

Great lock, even better customer service!
If you’re looking for a stylish smart door lock, look no further! This lock allows many ways to get into your home, including the ability to unlock remotely. Not only is the lock pretty, the battery life is better than others, and it is very easy to set up and use. My only issue is that it cannot be used on my door! 🙁 The deadbolt has a rectangular metal piece that is supposed to be placed in the inset on the side of the door. My door is metal and doesn’t have this inset. We cannot drill screws into the door, and the door won’t close if we lay the piece flat. Our old deadbolt had a round part to secure it, and we need the same part for this lock. We even tried to use the piece from our old lock but it didn’t fit properly. I contacted customer service and am thankful Barrett was on the other end of the call. He was wonderful! He texted, called, and FaceTimed with me to see my door and try to fix my issue. Barrett informed me that the rectangular metal piece cannot be removed but he will bring my issue to his supervisor’s attention. Hopefully the company will begin making that piece removable and include the round part for people who have doors like mine. I would definitely buy it!

I love this smart lock however Iâve been having connection issue with the remote locking, I will connect it and it will keep disconnecting.. 🙁
