This 6-Quart enamel Dutch oven is great for cooking, marinating, refrigeration and freezing. The color Porcelain enamel on cast iron can be used on gas, electric, ceramic and Induction cooktop, as well as in the oven. Not recommended for use on outdoor grills or over open outdoor flames. Not for use in microwaves. Lodge Color Porcelain enamel on cast iron cookware is cast from molten iron in individual Sand . The porcelain surface eliminates the need to season cast iron. The cast iron vessel has superior heat distribution and retention, evenly heating bottom sidewalls and even the lid. Tightly fitting lid seals in moisture. The excellent heat retention Reduces the amount of energy needed for cooking. Three layers of very hard, glossy porcelain enamel are chip resistant and easy to clean. Lid knob is oven safe to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. The black rim on the pot is matte porcelain, not exposed cast iron. Hygienic porcelain enamel is non-reactive with food. Although dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water is recommended to preserve the cookware’s original appearance. 10 3/4″ Diameter, 4 1/2″ Deep.
A flawless pairing of form and function that doesn’t quit, the Lodge Dutch Oven is an enameled cast iron classic that’s great for preparing and serving memorable meals.
WHAT IS PORCELAIN ENAMEL ON CAST IRON? It is actually glass that becomes bonded to the cast iron at high temperatures. A particulate of glass, called frit, is applied to the cast iron vessel and then baked at temperatures between 1200 and 1400° F. The glass frit melts and fuses to the cast iron, forming a bond. Porcelain enamel on cast iron is heat tolerant and impervious to water and other consumables.

Surprised Me with The Quality
I bought this dutch oven as a place holder until I could afford a Le Creuset one. But this worked so well I never did need to buy the more expensive brand. Cooks evenly, the color pops in the kitchen and it cleans up easily.

Great Kitchen Pot
The quality of the Dutch oven is as advertised, very sturdy (heavy yes), and it was perfect for cooking a pot roast. The color choices are also great. It cleaned very easily, and I look forward to its continued use.

Superior performance at a reasonable price!
I was looking at a much more expensive dutch oven to bake bread and this Lodge pot came up as an alternative. The price could not be beat and the size is perfect for bread, roasts, whole chicken, you name it. Plus after plating the meat and veggies you can put the pan directly onto a stove top to whip up gravy for truly a one pot meal. I purchased the 6 quart and it is HEAVY. I’m 70 years old and wouldn’t feel safe picking up anything heavier from the oven, especially when full of meat and vegetables. It’s plenty big enough for a big loaf of sourdough bread. If you’re looking for a versatile dutch oven at a great price this is the one!

Excellent quality, & affordable. Don’t be afraid of light colors!
I purchsed in Oyster which is close to white. While others stated light colors will get brown spots on them, which is true – it comes clean off with barkeepers friend or baking soda and some elbow grease with a scrub daddy. Worth the effort. I keep this on my stove top because it’s so pretty. I bake bread daily which comes out perfect and this dutch oven makes outstanding roasts. Just buy one!Hoping Lodge comes out with more soft tones & pastels in the future.

Kitchen workhorse…
I recently purchased the Lodge Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven, and it has quickly become my favorite kitchen companion. This versatile piece of cookware is truly a game-changer for home cooking. The first thing that impressed me was its incredible heat performance. With the ability to withstand temperatures up to 500°F, I can broil, braise, bake, or roast virtually anything13. The heat distribution is remarkableâit evenly heats throughout the bottom and sidewalls, ensuring perfectly cooked meals every time3.The porcelain enamel coating is a standout feature. Applied at extremely high temperatures, this glass-based coating creates a smooth, non-stick surface that makes cooking and cleaning a breeze23. I’ve noticed it promotes beautiful caramelization and resists staining, which is a huge plus for someone who loves to cook. What I appreciate most is its versatility. Whether I’m making a hearty stew, a tender pot roast, or a batch of beans, the tightly fitting lid seals in moisture perfectly3. The light-colored interior is also fantasticâit makes it easy to monitor browning and develop a rich fond3.Compared to more expensive brands like Le Creuset, the Lodge offers exceptional performance at a fraction of the price13. It’s durable, easy to use, and has quickly become my go-to pot for almost every cooking method. The only minor drawback is that the base is slightly smaller than some high-end models, which can make browning large batches of meat a bit more challenging3. However, this is a small trade-off for such an excellent piece of cookware.I would absolutely reorder this Dutch oven without hesitation. It’s a kitchen workhorse that combines style, performance, and value in one fantastic package.

Excellent value
This Lodge Dutch Oven is a real workhorse in the kitchen. The vibrant red color is a nice touch, and it’s surprisingly lightweight for cast iron. I’ve used it for everything from braising beef to baking bread, and it always delivers delicious results. The enamel coating makes cleanup a breeze, and I love that I can go straight from stovetop to oven without any fuss. Highly recommend!

Beautiful and functional. But check lid fit
I bought this enameled Lodge 6-quart in red via Amazon a month ago and I’m mostly happy with it. It’s beautiful, cooks very well and is pretty easy to clean. The pot is heavy, which means you’ll have to be careful moving it. But that weight helps it retain heat when you add your food, so it sears beautifully. My only concern is that the **lid doesn’t fit perfectly** on the pot. My photos show a gap on one side while the other overlap,.which shows me it’s **not** a tight seal. While baking a roast in the oven, I’ve seen steam coming from the gap under the lid, which means it’s not staying in the food. Reviews on Amazon suggest the lid fit is hit or miss.Maybe you’ll get a higher quality product buying directly from Lodge? Not sure.Good luck, Lodge’s enameled dutch oven is a great kitchen tool that’s useful for more recipes than I’d ever expected.

Yeah, it is heavy because it is made of iron, but this thing became the MVP in my kitchen! Awesome!

I purchased the 6qt enameled dutch oven in Caribbean Blue and am extremely happy with it. I have used it on the stove top and in the oven. This is the first enameled dutch oven that I have owned but I do own several other cast iron dutch ovens, mainly for camping and bread.Pros:looks great – the blue is very similar to the Le Creuset that I havegood size for familyoff-white interior makes it easy to see what you are cookingretains heat very wellcleans up easilygreat value for the money!heavy because it is cast iron, but not too heavygood fitting lidcan handle high temperaturesnice big handlesgood heat distributionCons:I would have liked a less round bottom to increase cooking surface, but this really isn’t a big problem. If you want a good sized, attractive enameled dutch oven and don’t want to pay a premium price for a Le Creuset or a Staub, I can heartily recommend this Lodge!
