Ideal for homeowners seeking advanced security and everyday convenience, this lock combines innovation with reliability to enhance daily routines. It supports remote control from anywhere via built-in Wi-Fi—no additional bridge required—allowing real-time management through a mobile app. With support for five unlocking methods—including palm scanning—and compatibility with voice assistants like Alexa, the KD10 model offers flexibility for diverse household needs. Whether you’re at home or away, this smart deadbolt provides a faster, more accurate alternative to traditional keys or fingerprint locks.
Key Features
- Palm Vein Recognition Technology: Utilizes near-infrared light to scan unique vein patterns beneath the skin, offering high accuracy that remains unaffected by dry, cracked, sweaty, or dirty fingers. This makes it especially suitable for elderly users and children who may struggle with traditional biometric systems due to skin conditions or age-related changes.
- 5-in-1 Unlocking Methods: Supports palm vein scanning, mobile app control, voice commands (Alexa-compatible), password entry, and physical key backup for reliable access in any scenario—ensuring peace of mind even during power outages or technical glitches.
- Built-In Wi-Fi & App Control: No extra Wi-Fi bridge needed. Remotely manage your lock via smartphone using iOS 11+ or Android 6.0+. Features include real-time notifications, temporary passcode sharing, and virtual defense against code guessing attempts.
- Anti-Hijacking Alarm: Activates an alert during forced entry or unauthorized tampering attempts, adding a third layer of physical and digital protection to safeguard your home and loved ones.
- Rechargeable Battery System: Equipped with a 7800mAh lithium-ion battery that delivers up to 8 months of operation based on 10 uses per day, fully charging in just 4–6 hours.

Benefits & Use Cases
The GHome Smart Door Lock excels in environments where security, accessibility, and smart integration are priorities. Its palm vein system is particularly beneficial for families with members who struggle with traditional biometrics—such as the elderly or young children—due to skin conditions, dryness, or pigmentation issues that can interfere with fingerprint sensors. The ability to generate temporary access codes allows homeowners to grant short-term entry to guests, delivery personnel, or service providers without compromising main account credentials, enhancing both convenience and security.
Real-time alerts ensure immediate awareness of door activity, while remote locking capabilities offer peace of mind when leaving the house or returning from work. The inclusion of physical keys as a fallback ensures functionality even during power outages or technical failures, making it a truly resilient solution. Voice control compatibility enhances hands-free operation—ideal for individuals carrying groceries, managing multiple tasks, or assisting others with mobility needs.
Additionally, since palm vein data is stored locally on your personal device only (not on cloud servers), privacy and security are preserved. This approach minimizes the risk of remote hacking or data breaches associated with cloud-based biometric storage. For optimal performance, simply keep the sensor clean and avoid obstructing the scanning area. While the lock operates independently of external internet stability, consistent Wi-Fi connectivity enables full app functionality, including remote monitoring and guest access management.
Important Notes
Installation requires standard deadbolt compatibility and basic DIY skills. Ensure your door meets dimensional requirements before purchase. Always maintain at least one working key as a backup method. For best results, pair the lock with a compatible smart home ecosystem such as Alexa-enabled devices. Regular software updates delivered through the mobile app help maintain optimal performance and security standards. As with any smart device, ensure your smartphone meets the minimum OS requirements (iOS 11+ or Android 6.0+) for a smooth connection and full feature access.

Easy to install and fast to lock/unlock with your palm, the Gosund app, or the Amazon Alexa device.
As soon as I received my purchase of the KD10 Ghome Smart lock, I immediately installed it.They provided an overlay paper/schematic to drill holes on the door, but I didn’t need it. For me, I already had a deadbolt on my door. So all I did was to remove the existing one and install the KD10.There is only 1 tool that I need to complete the installation. That is you need a narrow long-neck screw driver (about 6″ long, not including the handle). There is one screw at the bottom of the device requires a long reach to secure the screw. The whole installation process took me about 30 minutes including removing the old deadbolt and installing the KD10. Everything fits perfectly in the cutouts on my door. Only the part that aligning the center pin took me some time. I still believe anyone can do this job.The lock comes with a USB-C cable but didn’t include a USB power adapter. You don’t need it on day one as the included battery already had charge. But you will need an USB power adapter some time in the future to charge the battery.Once you created an account in the Gosund app, you can pair the door lock with your phone. I highly suggest to complete this process before registering your/family’s vein print to reduce confusion as the lock remembers every single event. From the Alexa/Google Home app, add the Gosund skill and then you can unlock the door with voice.Lastly, I could unlock my door in a dim-lit/dark place. It’s truly phenomenal. I’m sure you will like it too.

Excellent Lock with Palm Reader
Great product and love the the palm reader. We currently use a smart lock that uses finger print which can be challenging sometimes as the lick can get really hot. The palm reader takes it to another level.I’m giving it 4 stars vs five right now because the keypad isn’t lit enough to see it outside doing the day. It’s very dim. Would be nice to have control in the app the app that allows us to manage the lighting.Installation was pretty straightforward.

Connection issues
Works great with the palm vein recognition and entering the code. The lock will not connect to their app however and their customer service is useless. They keep telling me to do the same things over and over.I tried with 2 iPads, 2 iPhones and even 2 of these locks. It will not connect via Bluetooth or WiFi. I have many other of their devices connected to the app, so I donât think itâs lack of understanding of how their app works. I like the palm recognition part but am missing out on the connected features.

Easy to install and setup
I got this smart lock 2 months ago and, so far it seems like a great product. It was easy to install and, the app set up was very easy also. I love that all passcodes can be controlled via the app. The palm reading is such a game changer. This lock is well worth the money. I really love that you can use your palm with this lock.

Watch the online video instruction; also you need precision screwdrivers
I was lucky with the installation of this new electronic deadbolt; my current deadbolt was exactly the same size as the new bolt mechanism. The instruction book was very long and had large enough print to read easily. However, what I found extremely helpful was the online video on installation. My only complaint about that video was that it went extremely fast. Each step of the installation was only about 2 seconds on the video, so I had to keep stopping it and rewinding. There are three tiny screws that require a precision screwdriver (not included). I found the instructions on programming it confusing. Ultimately I did not get it connected to my cell phone. The keypad is very sensitive in that you have to push the numbers firmly and quickly, otherwise you have to start over. The palm reader does work, you just need to present your palm in the same manner it was originally scanned. There is an interior finger lock and the key works well from the outside. I would have given this a “5” if the keypad wasn’t so fussy and I could get it to work with my phone.
