Great Value Smart Door Lock
We swapped out our 1st gen August lock with this SMONET lock and matching handle (B09V571VMK). The combination looks great. The quality of the hardware is mid-range at best, but wanted to try a value lock first before upgrading to a name brand like Kwikset or Yale down the road. For $120 (after coupon), the SMONET lock works as advertised and quickly setup the pin code and fingerprints for the whole family, which all work well. We’ve only had it for a few days, so can’t speak to its longevity, but the install was relatively simple and the app is straight forward and easy to use. The most difficult part was aligning the lock plate, which required some chiseling of the door frame, but would need to be done for any new lock.In general, It just works, which is what we wanted, not an overly complex lock/app that tries to upsell the customer on accessories or subscriptions (which has regrettably become the norm these days). My favorite feature is the auto-lock settings, which can be set from 10-60 seconds after the door is unlocked. We never need to worry about an unlocked front door again as long as it’s closed. We also bought the gateway (B0811J4PL8) in order to unlock the door when not home and to control the lock from Google Home & Alexa. If you decide to do the same, it needs to be linked to the “ScienerSmart” app/service for Google Home and the “TTLock” app/service for Alexa. It’s a bit confusing to have different names for everything (SMONET for the hardware, “Next Lock” for the Android/IOS app, “TTLock” for Alexa and “ScienerSmart” for Google Home. Once you figure this out, then can control the lock across all your smart devices. Google Home actually works better than Alexa and can unlock the door (with a code) from my google next. Alexa linked to the lock fine, but currently can’t unlock the door as it says that I need to enable locking in the App, which I’ve done, but still doesn’t work; I’ll troubleshoot this more, but no luck on the first attempt. To address some of the other critical reviews, this lock and company is likely based in Southern China and wouldn’t expect to have a perfect owners manual or packaging; I don’t think it was copy-edited by a native English speaker. That said, these types of locks are a dime a dozen in East Asia and trust that they’re working off of proven technology that just needed adaptation for the North American Market. Some feedback for the SMONET folks…..If you want to up your game and improve review scores, I’d recommend hiring out a professional copy-edit company in Hong Kong, Singapore, USA and spend a bit more on the packaging to have thicker cardboard and replace the foam insulators with ECO/Cardboard options (take inspiration from Xioami or Anker). I’m sure these marginal improvements would allow you to better compete with the larger brands on the platform.

Great price, Works well
Great lock. Easy to install. Only issue I’ve had is that the finger print reader works intermittently, and it’s silly that I need to buy an additional device to get it to work with Amazom Alexa. Key fob and pass codes work flawlessly. Would definitely recommend this lock.

Great Door Lock
After 6 months of regular use, this keyless lock has performed brilliantly. Installation was very easy. It is easy to use and program custom codes for guests that need to come in while we are away. The batteries have lasted with no issues, and having a physical key in case they do is another plus. I will definitely be buying another one of these for our other entry door.

Great lock with a lot of options
I bought this lock for the RFID tag feature, my elderly mothers hands shake and there is times were typing in a pin will take 5 minutes or even can not put the pin in to unlock the door. I am coming from a Zwave/Zigbee Yale pin pad lock, this is my second smart lock and I can say I am really impressed with the lock for the features and the price. I got this when it amazon had a $30 off coupon but I honestly would buy it again if the coupon was not an option again. Before you buyIf you are thinking about getting this lock I would say do it, there is two things which I think you should know first about it though. I did not read all the info about the product before I bought it, the big thing for some people will be that this lock requires a hole to be drilled in the door to support the lock(there is a picture of the required hold on the pictures that I missed). The box does include a drill bit to drill the whole which works really well. (I ended up assembling the lock before installing in the door to test the working function of it and if I like the features about it, before I installed it permanently) The other thing which may not be a big deal to anyone is you have to download the TTLock app to set up the lock, I have an android phone and the app is well laid out.The ReviewThe lock itself seems and feels to be decently built, the locking motion is smooth and does not bind at all internally. After drilling the hole, the installation of the lock is pretty easy. The box includes all the hardware that is needed for installation plus 4 AA batteries and two RFID cards. The lock communicates over bluetooth to set up the lock and to use the functions of it as well. The pairing of the lock was super simple and easy, I was able to set up two finger prints, a 4 digit pin and a RFID card in under 5 minutes. I can honestly say the app for administration and functionality of the lock is really fantastic definitely makes this lock something I would recommend to anyone. There is alot more features that this lock and app has to offer that for me personally I won’t use but it is nice to have the option for them, you can create and share an admin key through the app to allow there people in the house to manage the lock as well. I do not plan on using my phone to lock/unlock the door often, but if I was I would probably get the wifi gateway so I can do it at a distance farther then the 33ft the bluetooth is limited to. The actual functions of unlocking the door via, fingerprint, RFID card, and passcode is really fast and a great improvement over the speed of the old Yale lock.Last remarksI currently have had this lock installed for around a week now and have had no issues with it, I live in Arizona so I am curious to see how it will stand up in our summer heat. I will give an update later on (current date 11/2020) about the summer months and how the lock as been doing. If you are thinking about ditching the old just key locks I would say do it, no having to search for keys when you get home has been amazing.Update 10/2022The lock is working well, I would recommend buying it still. The battery life is pretty good also, I use Duracell batteries and they last close to a year. I also bought the wifi bridge to the control the lock remotely and it works just like you are controlling it via Bluetooth. With the bridge the app will tell you who unlocked the door and what time and also when the battery is getting low. The only thing I would add is if you live in a climate where it rains often be prepared to have to wipe the lock dry before you can use the fingerprint or keypad.

I am delivering on my promise to provide feedback during Canadian winter.I reduced my rating from 4 to 1 because:- It is -6 degrees celsius and the lock completely gave up.- Fingerprint Does NOT open or lock- Code Does NOT open or lock- Remote by app Does NOT open or lock- Last thing I wanted to do is to give my tenant the physical key, which I had to do today after they were locked out a few times!I am getting rid of this lock, it is nothing but waste of money and embarrassment!I am leaving My Previous review so you don’t think I am having malicious intentions. My attitude is always positive at first:Good lock for the price. I just have 2 suggestions for the manufacturer:1- The touch screen is not responding to the touch sometimes. I just installed it today which is a warm day in May around 23 degrees C. Hopefully it’ll function in the Canadian winter.2- The default page of the app doesn’t show if the lock is “Locked” or ” Unlocked”. You should go to the records to show if it is locked or unlocked. It would help if it shows it instantly on the default page

I recently purchased the Smonet Smart Door Lock and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! I have this lock installed in my front entrance security door. My wife and I use the fingerprint feature for entry. Also with a “bluetooth bridge” ($40) which connects the lock to our wifi, I can use Google assistance for remote functions such as checking to see if the door is locked and if not, then google can remotely lock it for meWe also love the temporary passcode feature for those unexpected visits when we are not home and the ability to assign several passcodes is invaluable when you have contractors or cleaners going in and out because apart from the convenience, you also get a log of who enters and exits your home and when. All and all a great smart lock, BIG on features at a very reasonable cost. The only thing I wish it had is a direct WIFI capability without the need for a “bridge” and when Simonet comes up with a WIFI model, I’ll be sure to order one.Remember that for the best functionality you will also need a WIFI door sensor (about $20). This way google assistant can tell if the door is open or closed and the lock can be set to automatically lock, as soon as the door is closed so you will never have to remember to lock the door.Customer service is also great. In fact when my first lock developed an issue after 4 months, I simply contacted Simonet for support and they sent me a brand new lock under warranty.I could not ask for more and definitely recommend this smart looking smart lock.

Love everything about it except we didn’t get any low battery notification except when the device started to malfunction when they ran low. Could have been a pickle if we got locked out lol. Replaced batteries and back to being great again. Hopefully in an app update the battery sensor will be improved upon and a push notification will be sent out when they need replacing. Other than that everything is great especially for the cost! The fingerprint sensor is especially accurate which is usually a sticky issue with these types of products. Highly recommend with the one caveat

Update: I did speak to customer service and they were brilliant very nice helpful they said they will send a new product as it was under warrantyHonestly the installation at first was fine. Then my battery died and swapped the with some rechargeable ones I bought and the system was not opening. So I bought new batters again and still the stupid door does not open. I spent an hr and half tonight trying and trying. The online documents were that helpful and videos. I couldn’t find the instruction manual. I looked at the troubleshooting n user guide but 90 % of the time my android phone can’t open that pdf file. Sounds like the motor isn’t strong enough
