Prime-Line N 7411 Sliding Closet Door Roller Kit (1 Pair)
$11.99
Product Overview
This Prime-Line N 7411 sliding closet door roller kit offers a dependable solution for restoring smooth operation to bypass-style closet doors that have developed wear or damage over time. Designed specifically for older slider systems, this repair kit includes four roller assemblies—two for the front sliding panels and two for the rear-hung panel—ensuring balanced support across the entire door assembly. Each roller features a durable stamped steel bracket paired with a quiet, low-friction plastic wheel, providing reliable performance even after years of daily use. Ideal for homeowners, renters, or maintenance professionals seeking a straightforward fix without major renovations, this kit delivers long-lasting functionality with minimal effort.
Key Features
- Durable Construction: Built with sturdy stamped steel brackets that resist bending and maintain alignment under regular sliding motion. The plastic wheels ensure quiet operation while reducing wear on both the rollers and the closet track.
- Dual Offset Configurations: Includes one pair of 1/4-inch offset rollers for front panels and one pair of 1/2-inch offset rollers for the rear-hung door. This dual design accommodates varying door heights and panel depths, ensuring proper tracking and smooth glide regardless of installation setup.
- Top-Hung Side-Mount Design: All rollers mount from the side at the top of the door panel, simplifying installation and maintaining vertical stability. This design works especially well in spaces where bottom tracks are absent or impractical.
- Optimized Wheel Profile: Each 7/8-inch diameter wheel features convex (rounded) edges that glide smoothly along the track while minimizing snagging and friction. The rounded profile helps prevent binding during opening and closing, even on uneven or slightly misaligned tracks.
- Broad Compatibility: Engineered for use with Acme and Stanley bypass sliding closet doors, as well as many other older-style models. These rollers adapt effectively to a range of door heights and track levels, making them a versatile choice for retrofits and repairs.

Benefits & Use Cases
Over time, standard closet door rollers can degrade due to frequent use, material fatigue, or exposure to household dust and debris. When original rollers begin to squeak, bind, or fall out of alignment, they compromise both the functionality and aesthetics of the door. This Prime-Line N 7411 kit addresses these common issues by replacing each roller with a robust, precision-engineered component designed for extended durability.
The inclusion of both 1/4-inch and 1/2-inch offset rollers makes this kit particularly effective for asymmetrical door setups. In many traditional bypass sliding doors, the front panel slides within the frame while the rear panel hangs independently. The front panel typically requires less vertical adjustment due to its proximity to the track, hence the smaller 1/4-inch offset. Conversely, the rear panel often needs greater lift to clear the track properly, which is why the 1/2-inch offset rollers are essential. By providing both options in a single kit, users can achieve balanced tracking and smooth operation without guessing about correct fitment.
The top-hung, side-mount configuration simplifies installation significantly. Unlike bottom-roller systems that require access beneath the door, side-mounted rollers attach directly to the edge of the door panel near the top. This allows for easier removal and reinstallation, even in tight closets with limited clearance. Additionally, because the mounting point is higher on the door, it helps maintain vertical stability and reduces the risk of the door tilting or wobbling during movement.
Customers frequently note that these rollers perform reliably on doors that have been in service for over two decades. The combination of durable materials and thoughtful design ensures that once installed, the system continues to function quietly and smoothly without frequent readjustment. Whether replacing broken hardware or upgrading aging components, this kit provides a cost-effective way to restore full functionality to sliding closet doors.
Important Notes
This kit contains exactly four roller assemblies—two for the front sliding panels and two for the rear panel—and is intended solely as a replacement component. No screws, bolts, or other fasteners are included unless explicitly stated on the packaging; users should verify they have the necessary hardware for secure mounting. Installation generally requires only basic hand tools such as a screwdriver or wrench, though the door may need to be temporarily removed from its track to access the mounting points.
While the kit is compatible with Acme and Stanley brand doors, it also fits many third-party bypass sliding closet systems produced before modern standardization. To ensure proper fit, customers are advised to measure their existing rollers and confirm offset dimensions before ordering. Misalignment or incorrect roller selection can result in poor tracking or increased wear on the track itself.
User feedback consistently highlights the build quality and reliability of these rollers, with many describing them as solid, well-made, and an excellent value for the price. They serve as a practical alternative to full door replacement, especially when structural integrity remains intact but hardware has simply worn out over time. For anyone seeking a dependable, no-fuss solution to closet door troubles, this roller kit offers a proven path forward.

Two sets with different offsets
I found the track for an old pocket door hidden behind the trim of a doorway with no door. It still had one roller of a straight style apparently no longer made. I used these rollers, not knowing whether the wide or narrow offset would be best. The narrow worked, though it was a bit tight against the door opening. I think the original roller was 7/8 inch but these worked on the track. One goof I made – I did not make sure the door jamb on the closing side was vertical before installing. As it happens, it was over an inch out of plumb. To avoid taking the trim apart (having used an air nailer and 16 gauge Brad nails), I added an additional tapered jamb board and a couple of side pieces so the door does close. This was entirely on me, had nothing to do with the hardware. But it’s also important to use the screw locations and the hardware’s curved slots to adjust the door level, while you are installing the rollers before the top trim is installed. All in all these rollers were solid, well made, and designed to be adapted for height and level.
