Product Overview
The Anona Holo Wi-Fi Smart Lock is a keyless entry door lock designed to modernize home security with smart technology. Ideal for homeowners seeking convenience, remote access, and enhanced protection, this smart lock integrates seamlessly into existing door setups without requiring major renovations. It transforms standard deadbolts into intelligent entry points using app-based controls, voice assistants, and automated features. With non-destructive installation and compatibility across major smart ecosystems, the Anona Holo offers peace of mind by ensuring your home remains secure—even when you’re away.
Key Features
- Matter Ecosystem Support: The Anona Holo Smart Lock is compatible with third-party ecosystems such as Alexa and Apple HomeKit. This allows users to control their locks through voice commands and integrate them into a broader smart home network, enabling seamless connectivity and automation.
- Upgrade Your Deadbolts with Easy Installation: Designed to work with most single-cylinder deadbolts, the Anona Holo can be installed on the inside of the door using just a screwdriver. This makes it possible to retrofit existing doors with smart functionality without damaging the structure or requiring professional hardware changes.
- Auto-Lock & Anomaly Detection: Equipped with an internal inertial sensor, the lock automatically detects when the door is closed and engages the locking mechanism. If the door remains open beyond a safe duration or the lock becomes jammed, an alarm triggers via built-in buzzer or through app notifications, alerting users to potential issues in real time.
- Durable Battery Life: Powered by four AA batteries, the Anona Holo operates efficiently in standard Wi-Fi mode for 4 to 6 months before needing replacement. For extended travel periods, a low-power mode helps conserve energy and prolong battery life.
- Personalized Management: Say goodbye to hiding keys under the doormat. The app-based management system allows multiple users to have access, with customizable permissions and entry logs. Users describe the build quality as solid, with a premium-feeling aluminum shell and responsive keypad, making it a reliable first-generation smart lock.

Benefits & Use Cases
The Anona Holo Smart Lock is ideal for individuals who value both convenience and security in their daily routines. Whether you frequently forget to lock your door, travel often, or simply want to manage access for guests remotely, this lock provides practical solutions. Its app-based control allows you to grant temporary access to family members, house sitters, or service providers without physical keys. The auto-lock feature reduces human error by ensuring the door secures itself once closed. Additionally, anomaly detection gives reassurance by notifying you immediately if something is wrong—such as a stuck lock or prolonged door exposure—making it especially useful for short-term rentals or vacation homes. The integration with Alexa and Apple HomeKit means you can use familiar voice commands like ‘Lock the front door’ or ‘Check if the door is locked’ within your existing smart home setup.
Important Notes
The Anona Holo Smart Lock is designed for easy DIY installation and does not require drilling or structural modifications. However, it only works with standard single-cylinder deadbolts, so compatibility should be verified before purchase. Always ensure proper alignment between the lock mechanism and existing bolt housing to avoid operational issues. Batteries are included, but replacements will be needed every 4–6 months depending on usage. While the lock supports Matter, full functionality may depend on your router’s compatibility with the Matter protocol and your smart hub’s support. Users appreciate the solid construction and reasonable price point, though it is described as a first-generation product, which may mean some refinements could come in future updates.

A good improvement for your old lock
It is very easy to install. This lock is a good replacement option for your old lock without too much change on your door. It works well with the Anona app and notifies you of the door closing/opening and the lock/unlock status. The only drawback is the adapter is made of plastic, and the surface finish is not as good as expected.

Works great with only a few minuses.
My lock works great…. not sure about the battery life, but the install was easy. I had to get a cheap replacement Quickset deadbolt as mine had a double tail piece design. The lock is a really nice design, but pretty big. Wish it was half as “thick” but I guess that’s because of the batteries. I like that it’s only visible on the inside and the outside uses your existing deadbolt. Pairing it to Alexa was a tad tedious, but I eventually got it to pair and set up.The app is nice, but would be nice if it had a few more features. If you leave the door open and alarm will sound after 10 minutes. I can’t seem to find where to deactivate that feature. For the money, it’s cheaper and nicer looking than anything else I could find.

Very good first generation product
I just received both the Holo lock and keypad from Anona Security. My initial impression is that the company made a great product on their first release to market. The packaging was premium and in my opinion looked as good as those from the large market leaders like Google and Apple. The lock itself feels premium being made of metal with an ingenious front cover plate that fixes to the body with very strong magnets. The install was straightforward and would have taken only 5 minutes or so IF I had actually followed the install instructions. The keypad seems solid too although it is all plastic. Even so, the buttons feel responsive and the backlight is handy. I do wish the keypad had the standard layout of 4 rows of 3 buttons that everyone is used to on their phones instead of 3 rows of 4 like Anona Security decided to go with. It just feels very awkward especially if your lock code has a 9 or 0 in it. The Anona Security application for Android is well laid out with most features youâll find in significantly more expensive locks. I do hope Google Home support gets added soon. I also think adding an auto unlock feature like the August lock has had for quite a while will be a feature many customers will like. All in all, I am very pleased with this lock and keypad and look forward to firmware updates that add more useful features.

Does NOT work with Alexa
After a whole month of back and forth with Anona support, no resolution. Support person seems nice but no clue of whatâs wrong. Even after their âengineerâ reviewed the log, still no clue. They keep asking me to repeat the same binding procedures listed in their document. Eventually, they offered to send a new unit. The new unit did not connect to Alexa either. If you just want a lock with remote control, Anona is OK. But if you wanted a smart lock to integrate with your smart home, look to another lock.

The easiest smart lock I’ve ever used
This lock is the easiest install of any smart lock I’ve ever used.I didn’t even have to remove my existing deadbolt, I just had to swap the inside thumbturn of my existing lock with the included backplate. Then I attached the smart lock module to the backplate. That’s it! I inserted 4 AA batteries and I was up and running in minutes. The app found the lock and set it up quickly and without any issues. It has the auto-lock feature but unlike my other smart lock, it can detect whether the door is open or closed and will not auto lock the door until it is closed. My old smart lock would count 30 seconds and blindly lock, usually while the door was still open. They have an optional keypad that you can pair with this lock which will give you pushbutton code access. It also has “matter” support so it can pair with Alexa, Apple, etc. I love being able to say “Alexa, lock the front door” and within a second or two, the lock responds. For the price, I think this might be the best smart lock available.

Once installed, it’s great! Installation can be easy or interesting
I love the ability to unlock this thing with the original key OR with my phone. The auto-lock feature once the door closes is either a blessing or a curse depending on how smart the people are that you live with ð¤£ð¤·ââï¸ installation was easy-ish, but it did require a fair amount of positioning and “fiddling” to get it to fit correctly with my existing deadbolt. Once you get it correct however, it works great.Takes 4 AA batteries and battery life is great so far, but do yourself a favor and buy 4 rechargeable batteries and save yourself a bunch of money over the life of this thing.
