Benefits & Use Cases
This mini hand drill excels in precision-demanding environments such as electronics prototyping, PCB drilling, jewelry making, model building, and small-scale woodworking. It’s particularly effective when working with thin materials including PVC plastic sheets, wooden boards, acrylic panels, paper, pearl, walnut shells, and bodhi seeds—all under 1/4 inch (about 6mm) in thickness. The included JT0 chuck ensures secure bit retention even at high speeds, while the lightweight build reduces user fatigue during repetitive tasks. Users appreciate its straightforward setup and reliable torque output for small, intricate projects that require steady control and minimal vibration.
Designed for both beginners and experienced users, this drill is especially valued for its ease of operation and consistent performance on delicate surfaces. The motor shaft diameter of 2.3mm allows for precise alignment with most micro accessories and adapters commonly used in crafting and prototyping. Its ability to function effectively in manual, battery-powered, or externally powered configurations makes it highly adaptable to different project requirements. Whether you’re assembling a custom electronics project or creating detailed art pieces, this tool provides the balance of power and finesse needed for success.
Additionally, the quick-connect wire terminals eliminate the need for soldering, enabling rapid assembly and disassembly for testing or storage. This feature is particularly useful for educational settings, makerspaces, or anyone who frequently switches between projects. The included chuck key ensures that changing bits is simple and secure, reducing downtime between tasks. With 10 pre-sized twist drill bits covering a wide range of common diameters, users can begin working immediately without needing to source additional accessories.
Important Notes
This drill motor does not include a power supply unit—only the motor, chuck, drill bits, chuck key, shaft adapter, and wire terminals are provided. A compatible DC power source must be sourced separately, ideally within the recommended voltage and current range (e.g., 5V 1A or 12V 500mAh). Due to its compact size and moderate wattage (20W), continuous operation should be avoided to prevent overheating. While praised for build quality and chuck reliability, some users note limitations regarding sustained usage and the need for an external power adapter. Always ensure proper ventilation and avoid applying excessive pressure to maintain optimal performance and tool longevity.

Awesome idea and much stronger than you’d think
Great for trying to drill in very tight spots like inside of speaker boxes

Great motor
This is a fantastic motor, I suggest 2 or more amps.
Truth Be Told –
Great Electric Drill Motor kit
This is a very nice simple 12v electric motor drill kitLIKES:1. SIMPLE kit…GREAT FOR DIY2. INCLUDED NEEDED ACCESSORIES such as the INCLUDED DRILL CHUCK3. SIMPLE to set up and FUNCTIONS GREATDISLIKES:1. Product does NOT INCLUDE a On/Off switch and it would be nice if this kit had a way to adjust the rpm speed for this Electric Drill Motor within the kit

Pleasantly Surprised
I needed a micro drill but my toy budget is severely limited. I saw this and thought “Well, for $11, what the heck. If it doesn’t work, I can always use the motor for something.” Well, it works! I really thought the chuck would be crude and inaccurate but it works as well as any drill chuck I have. The motor has plenty of power for the tiny drills it will be using. It DOES turn a bit fast, but an inexpensive DC motor controller will fix that. The adapter to mount the chuck to the motor shaft needs to be snugged up occasionally, but that’s minor.

Nice Surprise!
For the price, this is nice for drilling very small holes in wood or plastic.Being powered by 12vdc max it can’t be expected to develop a great amount of torque. It is what you see! Very simple and will need a power source, to which I added an on-off switch.Would not use commercially but great for model building and tinkers!

Handy tool.
This is the handiest darn tool I think I’ve ever had. While my Dremel is mounted in a press for PCB drilling I keep this one at my work bench for touch up work on the PCBs. Just have it running on 12V from a lab power supply. I also like the key for tightning the bit. The Dremel has a twist type collet which you really need a wrench for to get the bit tight but the key works better.

Good motors, but the chuck mount is not centered.
Good motors, but the chuck mount is not centered causing a lot of vibration. A little too wobbly for what I needed.I wanted to make a miniature drill press using these motors and chuck. It wouldn’t work with the amount of play this has.I had to make my own chuck mount to make it right.
