Bullnose Carpet Stair Treads, Non Slip Stair Treads for
$65.99
Product Overview
Bullnose Carpet Stair Treads are precision-engineered solutions designed specifically for protecting the vulnerable front edges of bullnose-style stairs. Unlike standard stair protectors, these non-slip treads focus on safeguarding the most worn area—the curved or rounded edge where scuffing, chipping, and impact damage typically occur. Made with high-quality fiber and a self-adhesive backing, they offer a secure, residue-free installation that doesn’t require glue, tape, or professional tools. Whether you have hardwood, laminate, painted wood, or tile steps, these treads deliver durable protection while enhancing comfort and reducing noise underfoot. Ideal for households with children, elderly family members, or pets, they combine practicality with everyday safety.
Key Features
- Self-Adhesive Backing: Equipped with a built-in adhesive layer instead of traditional glue or tape, the Bullnose Carpet Stair Tread adheres directly to the stair surface without leaving residue upon removal. This makes it safe for use on delicate flooring like hardwood and allows for easy repositioning if needed—though long-term stability is recommended for best performance.
- Skin-Friendly High-Quality Fiber: Constructed from premium-grade materials that are soft to the touch and gentle on skin, these treads ensure comfort whether walked on barefoot or in socks. The dense yet plush texture provides cushioning without compromising durability.
- Superior Noise Reduction: The soft carpet-like surface absorbs footstep impact, significantly reducing echo and creaking sounds—especially beneficial on upper floors or in multi-level homes where noise can carry. This contributes to a calmer, more peaceful household environment.
- Edge-Specific Protection: Most stair mats cover the full width of the step but fail to address the bullnose edge, which bears the brunt of daily wear. These treads are uniquely shaped to wrap around or sit precisely at the front curve of the stair, offering targeted defense against scratches, chips, and impacts that commonly ruin finished surfaces.
- Simple 20-Minute Installation: No tools, no mess—just peel off the protective film, align the mat over the stair edge, and press firmly for an instant hold. The process is straightforward: clean the surface, remove the backing, center the mat, and apply pressure. It’s perfect for DIY homeowners looking for quick, effective upgrades.
- Low-Maintenance Cleaning: Designed for convenience, these treads can be vacuumed regularly to remove dust and debris or fully removed and hand-washed in cold water using mild detergent. They dry quickly, retain their shape, and reattach securely—making them suitable for repeated cleaning without degradation.
- Non-Slip Surface: Beyond the adhesive base, the textured top surface enhances traction, reducing the risk of slips—even when stairs are slightly damp. This adds an extra layer of household safety beyond just edge protection.
- Pet and Family Friendly: The rounded front edge is softened by the carpet material, minimizing injury risks during accidental bumps or playful interactions between pets and people.

Benefits & Use Cases
The Bullnose Carpet Stair Treads excel in real-world home environments where stair edges take the most abuse. Homes with polished hardwood or painted steps often suffer unsightly scuffs along the front curve—especially in high-traffic areas like entryways or hallways. These treads provide a discreet, functional barrier that preserves both appearance and structural integrity. Their cushioned surface also improves walking comfort, making stairs gentler on joints and reducing fatigue over long periods.
Families benefit greatly from enhanced safety features: children learning to navigate stairs gain confidence knowing the leading edge is protected, while seniors appreciate the reduced slip hazard and softer landing. Pets—particularly active dogs or curious cats—are shielded from sharp corners during play or accidental tumbles. Because the treads stay locked in place thanks to dual-layer grip (adhesive + textured surface), there’s minimal shifting even under frequent use.
Beyond protection, aesthetics matter. The neutral, carpeted finish blends seamlessly with existing décor, avoiding the industrial look of metal edging or bulky foam pads. And because they’re removable, seasonal changes or renovations won’t leave permanent marks on your stairs.
Important Notes
- For optimal adhesion, ensure the stair surface is completely dry, clean, and free of dust or oils before installation.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals, bleach, or hot water when washing; this may degrade the fiber or weaken the adhesive over time.
- While the self-adhesive holds well initially, repeated peeling and reattachment can reduce stickiness. For best results, install once and leave in place long-term.
- The package includes one full set of treads. Measure your specific stair width and profile before ordering to confirm compatibility—especially important if your steps vary in size across the staircase.
- Not recommended for use on uneven, rough, or porous surfaces where adhesion may be compromised.

Great Quality and Style with Minor Issues
The quality of these stair treads is fantastic for the price, with a textured design that looks much better than flat carpet. The adhesive backing works fine, though it doesnât stick well on bullnose corners. A good trick is to press down the top edges before applying to avoid lifting. The protective film on the back can be tricky to peel off, as it doesnât come off in one piece. The warm beige color is nice, but it leans slightly pink in certain lighting, which was an unexpected surprise. Overall, very happy with the purchaseâmy dog loves it too!

Very happy with purchase
Works great. Looks great. Film on the back wasnât a big deal. Like other suggested, have a tweezer handy to help you grab a corner when it tears, which it will.

Look Great!
Was unsure which option to go with for our hardwood stairs to make them less slippery for my toddler, but am so glad I went with these! They are a gorgeous color and material and work well. Similar to others, my only complaint is that it’s difficult to peel the plastic on the back and there are a few places where they aren’t as sticky, but otherwise very happy with my purchase.

Made life better for my dying dog!
My 9.5 yo dog is dying of some kind of brain cancer or disease. We have no idea what it is and I have spent over $15k over the last two weeks on hospital visits, diagnostics and aggressive treatment options in every possible attempt to buy some more time with my once in a lifetime soul dog sho also happens to be my first dog. She’s had arthritis and his displaysia for a few years but around a month ago she started having neurological symptoms that have severely affected her quality of life. She has signs of vestibular disease, sometimes walking drunkenly and often losing her balance. Half of her face is paralyzed and she lost the ability to secrete tears in the eye on that side and has been slowly losing her sight due to an excessively dry cornea. All this has resulted in her having extreme difficulty navigating our home despite knowing it so well.Stairs have been out of the question as her back left leg just slides out when she puts weight on while on a slippery surface. We have hardwood floors throughout and I’ve been buying lots of rugs and runners to help her be able to walk and move a bit more comfortably. I’ve been sleeping downstairs with her every night for the last two weeks because she can’t go up the stairs and lifting her in her fragile state is very uncomfortable for her.I searched stair tread options and my wife preferred a runner and runner rods for a more permanent installation but I decided to try this as a cheaper option that was easy to install and remove. I also bought a cheaper set of stair treads, they were much thinner and much smaller and did not have the folded bullnose feature. I returned those immediately after I had the two side by side. These treads were so easy to install. After reading all the reviews about how hard it was to tear off the backing, I prepared myself by grabbing a metal pick from my wife’s cricut tools and that helped immensely with getting the backing removal started. Installing the first tread was a learning experience and iterating over the next two to figure out the best way to peel off the backing and apply the tread, I became really efficient and was able to install 12 treads in about 15 minutes.Tips for installation.- When you peel the corner where you start, first make sure the longer edge – which comes off easier – is coming up clean.- Focus on pulling the initial corner away from tread rather than trying to follow the backing as it comes off.- The shorter edges tend to rip , so I actually leave a good bit of slack for the short edge where you start so you can go back and remove that a bit easier, especially using a metal pick or some tweezers to help. It may take you 2-3 minutes for the first few but once you get thr hang of it you can peel the backing off in under a minute.- I made sure to sweep, vacuum, sweep again, and then mop my stairs to get a clean surface for installation.- There is no adhesive, the backing of the treads are just extremely tacky and stay in place once you press them to a surface and put some weight on them.- The folded bullnose didn’t install perfectly with my rounded bullnose stairs but it was good enough. Some of the edges look like they’re not completely flush with the wood, but thr rest pf the tread sticks to the wood so well that I don’t have to worry about these going anywhere. I’m very impressed.I just ordered a second set for the staircase at the front of the house which my older dog doesn’t really use. After a few days of using the stairs with the tread, it just feels so much nicer, more comfortable, and safer than the bare pine we had before. I have bad knees and occasionally when the pain flares up, it can be hard to go down stairs. These treads have helped me regain confidence for myself and my elderly dog to go up and down the stairs. No more sleeping in the living room and my dog can enjoy sleeping in our bedroom as she keeps fighting her cancer.I can’t recommend this product enough.

Easy install, looks expensive, doesnât move a bit!!
Love these, super easy to install, they look expensive and donât move one bit. Iâm not sure what the adhesive is on the back but itâs sticky without being sticky and holds but easy to pick up and move if place incorrectly.

Nice looking Carpet but not adhesive at all
The carpet treads look and feel nice but to call them self adhesive is a joke. After removing the clear film, they treads are slightly tacky (enough to maybe call them anti slip) but to not adhere to anything. I even tried to use double sided carpet tape and 3M VHB tape but the white backing is almost like a teflon and nothing sticks to it. I may resolve to just stapling them to the stairs.

Functional and pretty.
What a responsibly priced transformation. By looks and feel, I would give 5 star. Took off a star for meh on adhesive. Could be stronger. Also the adhesive does not come off in one sheet but shreds. Despite that, I do love the look and feel. My last treads were jute and would create a ton of fibers in the corners. Hopefully these won’t do that but time will tell. Great to protect wooden steps and for safety.

Bought for my elderly dog to use in our rental with many steps which are wooden & slippery.Positives are that much better grip for my dog, sewn well, much quieter and easier on the feet for us, easy to stick on and remove, which is important.Negatives that removing the transparent film (like cling wrap) off the backing which is time consuming and tricky.Recommend using pieces of gaffa tape (not clear tape) to start at the edges and pull away to reveal the protective film which is best to remove all of it. Also the colour is much more caramel than beige and there is nothing to prove its actually of the Brakki brand. I’d say its a copy, but a good one.

If you have a corner half way up your stairs on the turn, these will not work. These are for straight stairs only.

Love the look and quality. As stated by a few buyers it was hellish to get the backing off. So true. Initially you don’t think they are going to stick but so far rock solid.
