Product Overview
The Calphalon Premier Stainless Steel 6-Quart Stock Pot is engineered for cooks who demand precision, durability, and timeless elegance in their kitchen tools. With its heavy-gauge construction and superior heat distribution, this stock pot excels at everything from boiling pasta to simmering rich stews and heating large batches of soup. The refined stainless steel finish not only enhances the visual appeal of any kitchen but also supports effortless cleaning and long-term use. Designed for both everyday cooking and special occasions, this pot seamlessly transitions from stovetop to oven—up to 450°F—offering versatility that modern home chefs appreciate.
Key Features
- 3-Layer Metal Construction: At the heart of this stock pot lies a heavy-gauge aluminum core sandwiched between two layers of premium stainless steel. This design ensures exceptional thermal conductivity and even heat distribution, eliminating hot spots and supporting consistent browning, searing, and sautéing across the entire cooking surface.
- Dishwasher-Safe Finish: The polished stainless steel exterior resists staining and corrosion while remaining fully dishwasher safe. This feature simplifies cleanup after meals, making it ideal for busy households without compromising on shine or performance.
- Oven-Safe Design: Thanks to its robust build and heat-resistant materials, this stock pot is safe for use in ovens up to 450°F. This allows you to sear meat on the stovetop and then transfer the pot directly into the oven to finish cooking—perfect for recipes that benefit from dual-stage preparation.
- Generous 6-Quart Capacity: Measuring six quarts, this stock pot comfortably accommodates family-sized portions of pasta, small to medium pot roasts, hearty chili, flavorful stews, and more. It strikes a balance between utility and manageability, fitting most standard stove burners and kitchen cabinets.
- Classic Aesthetic Appeal: With its clean lines and mirror-polished stainless steel exterior, this pot adds a professional-grade look to any kitchen setup. Its understated elegance complements both contemporary and traditional decor styles, making it as visually pleasing during prep as it is functional in service.
Technical Specifications
- Capacity: 6 quarts (approximately 5.7 liters)
- Construction: 3-layer design—stainless steel outer layer, stainless steel inner layer, and a heavy-gauge aluminum core
- Oven Safety: Up to 450°F (232°C)
- Cleaning Method: Dishwasher safe; hand washing recommended to preserve luster over time
- Stovetop Compatibility: Suitable for gas, electric, and induction cooktops
Benefits & Use Cases
This stock pot is particularly well-suited for tasks requiring consistent, even heat over extended periods. Whether you’re boiling water for a generous pot of spaghetti, slow-simmering a vegetable-rich minestrone, or preparing a one-pan roast with vegetables, the 3-layer construction helps prevent scorching and ensures uniform cooking. The wide base maximizes surface area contact with heat sources, which is especially beneficial when reducing liquids or building sauces.
The oven-safe capability expands your culinary options significantly. Imagine searing a chuck roast in the pot over high heat, then transferring it directly into the oven to finish tender and juicy—all in one vessel. This kind of efficiency saves time and reduces cleanup, appealing to cooks who value convenience without sacrificing quality.
Cooking for six to eight people? This 6-quart size handles that crowd without feeling bulky. It’s also manageable enough for single or double servings if used creatively—such as doubling down on soups or sauces for meal prep. Users consistently report satisfaction with the pot’s ability to maintain temperature stability, whether bringing water to a rolling boil or gently warming stock.
Many home cooks appreciate how this pot bridges the gap between professional-grade performance and accessible home use. Its balance of durability, visual appeal, and ease of maintenance makes it a reliable staple in kitchens ranging from novice to experienced chefs.
Important Notes
- The included lid features a standard seal intended to retain steam and moisture during cooking. While some users find the fit secure and effective, others have noted variability in sealing performance—this may depend on minor differences in manufacturing or stacking over time. If a tighter seal is needed, consider using an additional oven-safe lid or silicone sealant ring as a workaround.
- Although the pot is dishwasher safe, prolonged exposure to harsh detergents can dull the reflective finish over many cycles. For best results, hand wash with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly to maintain its signature shine.
- Please note that the product package includes only the stock pot itself. No additional accessories such as trivets, utensils, or secondary lids are provided unless specified separately in your purchase listing.

Great Stainless Steel Pot
I really wanted a large but well built pot for making pasta and other dishes. I cannot exactly justify dropping big bucks on All Clad or another high end brand but liked the look, construction, and price of this.It has been wonderful and it is truly made well. Heats evenly and the lid is great. I need to have a glass lid as I’m nosy and like to peak at my food lol. The best part is that I can scrub by hand or toss it in the dishwasher and it cleans easily. Seriously a great well-built alternative to super high end brands at an affordable price.

Worth the price
Great heavy duty Dutch oven. Heats and cooks evenly. Wish I would have replaced my nonstick with this years ago.

Good cooking tools for your kitchen
Love the Calphalon cookware line. I recently purchased an induction stove and needed to add a few pieces of cookware. I already have their deep-frying pan and knew I wanted a stock pot from the same line. Much less heavy and easier for me to handle than my French cast iron porcelain cookware. It’s also slightly larger than my 6 qt cast iron, the extra depth is nice for when I make larger quantities of food. Wonderful stainless steel that cleans up like a breeze. The glass lids allow you to keep an eye on your cooking. The handles are large enough to make handling with oven mitts easy and secure. Well worth the investment, these will last a lifetime.

Very solid
Trying to use less teflon so purchased this. Takes a while to heat up but has even heat distribution. Narrow at the bottom and flares wider at the top. I am used to vertical, which is the only slight negative for me. I like larger cooking surface to also use like a skillet

Beware!!!
I placed an order for the 6 Qt .Calphalon Premier Stainless Steel Cookware on 11.23.24 On 11.27 I received it. Upon taking out the said item I happen to notice the plastic bag was not neatly placed over the lid. Then I notice one of the two (2) card boards that the lid is on the cardboard appears to been removed prior to me unboxing it. No big deal. Well my issues is this. This glass lid does NOT have the Calphalon brand stamp on it. On the packaging it shows the stamp, look at the reviews with photo’s. The reviews that claim leak issue appear to not have the Calphalon brand stamp on the glass lid. The good reviews with the photo’s Mohave the stamp on it. I own the signature set and they have the Calphalon brand on all my glass lids. Either the lids with no stamp are knock-offs or they are the one’s that have the seal leak issue.I suggest not only read reviews but all pay detail attention to photo’s as well as photo on packaging. I ordered a replacement and we shall see what becomes of that pot. I will follow-up on 12.03
