Sometimes I am torn between constantly replacing cheap but sharp knives and getting a much more expensive “elite” set that would supposedly last for years. The Carote set feels like it is an excellent balance between the two.The wooden handles not only look nice, but they are very well sanded and feel super smooth and comfortable to touch. It is hard to describe how nice it is feels unless you experience it firsthand.The blades are much sharper than my usual “cheap but super sharp” options. How effortless it is to slice carrots, potatoes, onions and meat. Things that would need “back and forth” slicing usually are sliced with one stroke. It is VERY satisfying.The set comes with safe guards, which I can see can be useful for some parents with small kids, but little kids should not be able to reach into knife drawers anyway. I packed away the safe guards in my case and I do not intend to use them, which to me feels a bit of a waste. I would have been happier with a storage block, even if the price were a bit higher.Overall, I really cannot find any faults with the sharpness, the utility / selection of different knifes and the craftsmanship of these knives. 5 stars, highly recommended.

Product was ordered 22 Dec 2024, delivered 10 Jan. 2025, with no damage.This CAROTE 12 piece kitchen knife set contains 1, 8 inch Chef knife, 1, 8 inch Bread knife, 1,8 inch Butcher khife, 1, 7 inch Sandoku knife, 1, 5 inch Utility knife, 1, 3.5 inch Pairing knife with a blade cover for each. The knives are made from a non-specified stainless steel with a,ceramic coating . The handle is made of plastic,with no information on tang. I have recently evaluated 3 kitchen knife sets and this is not my pick for first place Right out of the box, all 3 sets passed the âcut paper testâ and this set was right in the middle for sharpness. Without knowing what metal was used and information on handle construction I cannot give a complete evaluation. I am not comfortable with the plastic handle, nor how the blade will perform over time. The handle does not fit my hand very well and is just to small. The blade’s finish is nice and the workmanship is good. I would like to recommend this set, but just do not know enough. They look good and cut good at present, but I’m just not sure. For the price I think it’s worth taking a chanc

Excellent value, SUPER sharp out of the box!
What a lovely set!The handles are much nicer than I was expecting (think wood, but smoother yet nicely grippy), and the blades are really nice and sharp. I don’t know how durable they are yet, but they’re holding up well so far, even the Santoku, which is my go-to prep knife now. I have more expensive knives to compare to, and I wasn’t expecting much from such a low-cost set, but they’re remarkable.I have to commend the sellers on the packaging too – all entirely recyclable, no plastic nonsense to cut into, no unnecessary extra stuff to get through at all. Just a simple, elegant box and paper wrapped knives. Very nice.For the price these are selling for, they’re an absolute STEAL. The covers stay on nicely, overall build quality seems solid, and for a general purpose kitchen set they’re really all you need. 5-Stars and then some!

Super high quality and sharp knives. The faux wood handles are durable but look really nice and are easy to clean. Coating on the blade has held up to my usage. Every part of these knives look high quality including the covers, overall I highly recommend this set.

I am so excited about these knives! They are extremely sharp so thankfully they do come with protective covers. The handles have a wood look but theyâre not, but they are very smooth. I think they will last quite a long time. They ARE dishwasher safe but the instructions say itâs best to handwash them. Overall they are a fantastic deal and I am super impressed by the quality.
