Product Overview

The CS Unitec ETN 2001 P is a professional-grade wet and dry concrete core drill engineered in Germany for demanding construction and renovation applications. Designed to deliver consistent, high-torque performance, this 110V power tool excels when drilling into reinforced concrete, brick, block, stone, asphalt, marble, and ceramic materials. Whether used handheld or mounted on a support rig, the ETN 2001 P provides precision and reliability for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural installation projects where accurate hole placement and clean finishes are essential. With a maximum core diameter capacity of up to 4 inches, it’s ideal for routing conduits, utility lines, and ventilation shafts through solid masonry without compromising structural integrity.

Key Features

  • 15 Amp, 110V Motor: Delivers robust power specifically optimized for continuous wet drilling through dense and reinforced concrete, ensuring reliable operation even under prolonged use. The motor generates sufficient torque to maintain cutting efficiency when encountering steel rebar or hard aggregates.
  • 2-Speed Gearbox (0–800 / 0–1570 RPM): Offers two distinct speed settings that allow operators to adapt to varying material conditions—lower speeds provide greater control during deep penetration or tough substrates, while higher speeds enhance productivity on softer or standard concrete mixes.
  • Oil Bath Gearbox: Enclosed in a sealed oil bath system, the gearbox receives constant lubrication and cooling, significantly reducing friction, heat buildup, and wear over time. This design ensures smooth gear engagement and extends service life in harsh job site environments.
  • Mechanical Clutch: Incorporates an overload protection mechanism that automatically disengages the drive train if excessive resistance is encountered—such as hitting embedded rebar or reaching maximum depth—thereby safeguarding both the motor and operator from sudden jolts or damage.
  • Wet/Dry Drilling Compatibility: Supports wet drilling using water-cooled diamond cores to minimize heat, reduce dust generation, and improve bit longevity. It can also be used in dry mode with compatible dust extraction systems for indoor or enclosed spaces where water use is limited.
  • Rig-Mountable Design: Includes mounting interfaces and compatibility with standard support rigs, enabling stable, vertical, overhead, or horizontal drilling operations. This feature is particularly valuable for large-diameter coring jobs requiring straight, precise holes.
  • Up to 4-Inch Core Capacity: Accommodates industry-standard 4-inch (102 mm) diamond core bits, making it suitable for common utility penetrations without requiring custom adapters or specialized tooling.
  • Made in Germany: Built to German engineering standards, emphasizing precision manufacturing, quality materials, and rigorous testing to ensure long-term durability and dependable performance in industrial settings.

Benefits & Use Cases

The CS Unitec ETN 2001 P is engineered for professionals who require dependable, repeatable performance in challenging demolition, retrofit, or new construction scenarios. Its dual-speed capability allows users to optimize drilling parameters based on material density—switching to lower RPMs when penetrating heavily reinforced zones and increasing speed on standard concrete slabs. The oil bath gearbox ensures consistent performance during extended shifts, reducing downtime for maintenance or cooling breaks. In dry-drilling applications, pairing the unit with a high-capacity dust extractor enhances safety by capturing airborne silica particles, helping comply with occupational health regulations.

When rig-mounted, the drill maintains excellent alignment and reduces operator fatigue, making it well-suited for floor-level coring, wall penetrations, and ceiling installations in commercial buildings, hospitals, or data centers. The mechanical clutch adds a layer of operational security, especially when navigating unpredictable subsurface conditions like hidden utilities or variable aggregate content. Because it uses widely available 4-inch diamond cores, the tool integrates seamlessly into existing workflows without requiring proprietary consumables or additional setup time.

This level of versatility and build quality makes the ETN 2001 P a preferred choice among contractors, facility managers, and specialty trade workers operating in environments where precision, safety, and tool longevity are non-negotiable.

Important Notes

The CS Unitec ETN 2001 P is designed for industrial and professional use due to its heavy-duty motor and robust construction. It operates exclusively on 110V single-phase electrical systems—verify local voltage compatibility before installation. Always follow OSHA and ANSI safety guidelines when operating wet or dry core drills, including wearing ANSI-approved eye protection, hearing protection, and respiratory equipment during dry drilling.

While the mechanical clutch helps mitigate kickback risks, it does not eliminate the need for proper technique, secure mounting, or awareness of subsurface hazards such as rebar, plumbing, or electrical conduits. Package contents may vary depending on configuration; confirm included components such as mounting brackets, coolant delivery hoses, side handles, or control switches prior to use. As a high-performance tool made in Germany, the ETN 2001 P reflects superior craftsmanship but requires periodic inspection and maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations to sustain peak performance over time.

    durable
We actually bought 2 for the Seawall company use. Into our 4th year and still running well after thousands of hours coring 4 inch holes 10 to 20 inches deep

    Works fine but….
I used this drill yesterday to drill a single 2” diameter hole for a handrail post in concrete….all good worked as expected no problem. But getting the core bit off is another story. I have an entire metal shop full of vises and wrenches of various sizes and I could not get the dam thing unscrewed. Be aware that you need 2 wrenches large enough to fit around the bit end …. I feel like the manufacturer should provide the proper tools with the drill to unscrew the bit after use. Or have designed it so the bit doesn’t jam onto the tool under normal use.

    Hand Held Core Drill!
I personally haven’t used it. I bought it, paid for it and my guys use it. It’s left our shop a handful of times and they love it.
