Works as described, except in the cold.
This is a neat product. Two things; it doesnât work super well when itâs under 25 degrees Fahrenheit, at least on concrete. The second is that if you order this, unwrap it and leave it in a well ventilated area for at least 24-48 hours so it can off gas. It has a strong petrochemical smell when you first open it. Other than that I donât have any complaints.

Works as described
I used this on a wood floor to keep the ladder from sliding when propped against the wall and it worked as described – no slippage and worked with a tall ladder that had a wide base, just fitting inside the edges of the mat. True, it may be a little pricey for a piece of rubber-like material, but it was worth it for me to avoid potentially big problems if the ladder slid out from under me.

The smell is real
The smell is real, like the other reviews mentioned. I keep it in the shed so I only smell it when I take it out to use it. I’ve left it in the shed for over 3 weeks and the smell is still very pungent. Besides the smell, the product meets my need for extra safety when using the ladder. It’s a good trade off for me as it’s safety vs smell. I haven’t tried rinsing it with water or washing it to rid the smell. Seem like the smell comes from the lubricant to prvent the rubber from drying out when stored in-stock. From the smell, the lubricant is very likely oil based.

Generally works but reeks of chemical
Works ok on dry level surfaces, but not on any smooth surface (such as a roof membrane) that has any dampness to it. This mat reeks of chemical. I’ve let it air out for over a month and still cant store the thing inside anywhere (in the garage, in the vehicle, etc). Is so bad it gives me headaches and if I take it anywhere have to strap the thing to the roof.

Protects you and your floor!
This rubber mat prevents the ladder from sliding on your floor and from scratching it up. Has a strong rubber smell upon receipt, but I let it air out a couple days in the garage and it was no longer noticeable after that.

Make sure to check the size of your ladder to ensure both feet fit the width of the rubber mat. This initially looked like a good fit but not all ladders are that narrow.

I gave this product a positive review when it was being sold for a tenner which it still should be. It’s nothing more than a simple rubber mat. It was a brilliant product at the price.Then they went and jacked it up to it’s current ridiculous price of 44 quid which in no plane of existence is it worth that. I really hope the sellers see this feedback and bring it back to 10-15 quid and they will sell a lot more of them. Shocking greediness.
