    Perfect for a small kitchen
Loved the style and size. Definitely a great price and made to last .I didn’t do well with the template due to constructional issues with my cabinet design. No issues with microwave design and easy to use templet Back wall bracket no issues. I went to Lowe’s and bought for 10 bucks a metal 45 degree bar and it’ locked in.Best deal I’ve seen for slimline microwaves

    Faberware OTR low profile microwave.
LOVE this microwave!! This unit is very efficient, food cooks and thaws evenly. I really appreciate the low profile. This microwave looks very “high end” and fit exactly above my range. It is only 11 inches tall but roomy enough for standard cookware. It is easy to use, display is easy to read. Love how it cooks. Would buy again.

Good OTR microwave with low profile
I bought this OTR microwave to free up counter space. I replaced my range hood with outside vent with this Farberware OTR microwave. I needed no mods to my current setup as the range hood was top vented. The micro has top or rear vent options and of course re-circulation option if you are not venting. The instructions are clear and if you know what you are looking for on replacement, it is obvious enough. (Look at the one you are replacing).Pros:1. Low profile. This was a must with my cabinet drop at being right at 12″. Anything more, and it would hang below the cabinets and create less space for cooking. This delivered on space saving at a total of ~10.375″H. Width is standard (30″), depth is right at 19″ to the OD of door, which is acceptable and about where the hood was. The 19″ is likely due to the rear mounting bracket and the screw heads on the back of the microwave that are about .125″ from surface.2. Sensor cook. Not convection, but better than choosing time and power cook. Results vary, but not bad.3. Options for display brightness.4. Two lower LED cook lights. These are acceptable and provide enough light for range cooking.5. Two vents for range cooking. Acceptable. Not as strong or same level CFM as the range hood, but (2) speeds. The grease filters are not easily placed, but stay in position once located.6. Rear Mounting Bracket is good, template is OK. Makes it easier to get into position.7. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye.Cons.1. Buttons are not illuminated like the clock. Not a game ender, but would be nice to have. If in darker time of day, the clock LED will overpower the eye in trying to view the buttons, over head light required, or younger eyes than 50 years might work.2. Not convection. I knew this going in, so this isn’t a con really.3. Inside height (ID) is 6.5″ if on the turntable. This fits 99% of my bowls and dishes so no big deal for me, but some may be used to more. This is a low profile OTR micro, and to be expected.4. Plug type. Expect to plug this micro in (typical 110, 20amp). My range hood was hardwired, so I had to add a receptical for this behind it (inside the wall). Just added install time and at the time, there was no clear specs on this on the specs portion on Amazon.5. Some others have mentioned that there is a slight gap between the door and the micro that creates a small bump sound due to the door having about a 0.06″ gap while pressing buttons. This is easily remedied by using a round felt stopper. I had some left over from other projects I used and it worked perfectly. Place them where the picture is (x2) circled in blue.6. Top mounting template is not fun. I skipped and just measured. Measure the CTC and locate the holes you need according to the template.7. Grease filters fit is not conducive to placement.Overall, this OTR microwave has performed well, so far. It is a 1000W and delivers in the wattage range. You will want someone to help you hold it in place while mounting the top bolts.I was not paid or provided the product for this review, but probably should have been with the time I put into it.

    Excellent overall.
Ok. I’ve used this for about three months and thought it time to write a review based on more than instant reactions. Admittedly, we haven’t had a new counter top microwave since forever, so one has to assume progress has been made, and that that old Sharp microwave has had its day. Nonetheless, this Farberware microwave is really, really good, not just for the money, not just compared to the old Sharp, but objectively in its own right. For us, a quiet unit was nonnegotiable. (We suffered with a Viking over the range microwave, about as quiet as a 747 on takeoff, for years before switching to a GE—and realized we had been suffering needlessly. The old Sharp was clearly failing. Still, it had a wonderful design, with the controls across the top, rather than down the right side. This meant a relatively small box could hold a very large plate. True, the numbers stopped reading. True, the beep eventually stopped beeping. The time setting could no longer we trusted…So after studying reviews and specs like a divinity student trying to Devine the meaning of god, we decided to go with this unit. What a joy: quiet, warms foods up quickly, the ‘soften’ feature really softens, and the automatic reheat feature works fairly well. It has three instant on buttons (1, 2, and 3 minutes, respectively) plus a 30 second on button. So if you need a minute and a half, it’s touch ‘1’, then touch ‘On-30seconds’ and done. Is it perfect? No. We’d wish the display were backlit because reading all those little buttons is challenging. Did I say it was quiet?

    Piece of garbage
Bought it in May and the handle is peeling! They will replace it but I have to bear the cost of reinstalling a new one which is over $100. Also, first I have to have it removed and cut the cord to prove I’m throwing it away. Then, I have to dispose of the defective one. DON’T buy this!
