Great Product! A bit difficult to assemble
Love it now that it is assembled. Holds quite a bit of stuff and can support an adult sitting on it. However, I had difficulty assembling this solo. It un-assembled itself twice before I could get all of the pieces together to a point where it was a rigid structure. Might need two people!

Sturdy But May Require Some Skill or a Second Hand
I bought this apprehensively, getting the 2 yr warranty with this in case it turned out to be cheap as other commenters mentioned. Instead, it worked as advertised.Upon arrival, I was slightly displeased at some of the scratching on a couple of the smaller boards, but it was apparent that was from shipping. Be gentle when you handle your package to minimize this (I bought a second, which turned out a bit better). The scratches aren’t noticeable once you put it all together, especially considering mine were inner boards anyway.The pieces that come with this I found to be overwhelming, but I set aside time to put this shelf together (took me less than 2 hrs) and I remembered one of the reviews that helpfully encouraged that I could do this. The instructions are a little confusing,but I find most instructions confusing. However, be sure to follow to a T and double check which direction you’re putting each board. I made the mistake of putting one of the exterior side boards the wrong direction. The shelf still works, but I’ll have to do a modification to utilize it fully–lets just say the shelf adjustment holes are facing toward the outside instead of inwardly.Once you nail in the back board, it is a point of no return in terms of fixing any mistakes. The nails really do hold in the shelf.Also, the dowels make putting this together a PITA since most of the dowels are pretty loose when inserting into the boards, typically going in more than halfway and being a big wiggly when inserted. There is absolutely no precision in the holes made for the dowels and a numbet of the dowels are poorly constructed. As a result, the interior boards are a delicate function to put together. The dowels aren’t pointless since they are place holders and are part of the “point of no return” since even if you somehow manage to take out certain nails (good luck with that) as I considered doing to fix the one external board, the dowels were still in place, preventing the board from simply sliding out of the back board (which would have made my fix possible without taking apart the entire shelf). The dowels are a part of keeping the structure together, even when though they don’t sit in their slots sturdily while putting this together.The company notably included one extra of each hardware piece. For example, there is an extra dowel and extra nail included–more than is needed to out the shelf together. However, be sure to count and make sure all your pieces are there before the 30 day Amazon return period is over.I do have training in carpentry, but that was from 20 yrs ago. However, I found myself needing those skills when I hammered nails in the back of this. The picture shows to use a mallet; a mallet did not work. Nailing is the last step. Before doing that, you are putting the boards together with the dowels, then screwing the exterior boards to the inner boards (I had to have the unit against a wall to do this–a second person would have made this process easier). The principles of screw tightening come into place and are essential to get a secure fit and set up the foundation for the back board that gets nailed in. BEFORE you nail in the backboard, make sure each board is facing the correct direction. You can easily take out the screws, but the nails won’t come out or will likely damage the structure in doing so. It is a little confusing which side is the top and which is the bottom. Be careful which direction the holes on the side shelves are pointing before nailing the backboard in. Careful when hammering the nails in the edges. I took out a chunk on my first corner nail. Fortunately, the damage was not enough to affect the structure nor was visible once the shelf was done and against my wall. I’m 130 lbs and stood on the shelf fine once done putting it together. A relative of mine who weighs 360 lbs felt comfortable sitting on it and ended up buying two of these for themselves as well. However, they have a DIYer that lives with them who put the shelves together.If you are worried about the install, there is an option through Amazon to have someone do it, but the cost is the same as the shelf, so you would up paying double. Perhaps the better option is to have a handy person or mechanically minded individual help you? It’s important to put this together right. I suspect those who had issues simply didn’t put it together correctly.

Good looking, functional space
Needed this to squeeze into a narrow hall way space and for my teen daughter’s growing collection of Doc Martens. The four large spaces on either end of the bench provide plenty of area for the combat-style boots and the six smaller slots handle the loafers perfectly. Love how she can see her overall collection at a glance and select the shoes she wants to wear that day. Easy to assemble (took two of us).

Not bad but the quality is just so so for the price.
The wood is particle board and a little cheap. It works OK but a little pricey for the material used.
