Nice stools, directions could be better
I got 4 for my island I the kitchen. They are great, solid stools. The directions could use some tweaking. You can assemble them that way but the swivel base is tough to put on the seat. After fighting the first one their way, I did the last three my way and it was a lot smoother assembly. First mount the swivel to the seat. Then mount the legs to the swivel, finger tight so they have minor play. Be sure to put the #4 legs and #5 legs diagonal from each. Put in the cross braces with wood glue and provided screws. Now tighten up the legs making sure they are even with the swivel base. A 1/4â ratchet with a 4mm Allen socket helps too, just donât overnighted and spit wood.

Sturdy Chairs
Update more than 1 year later. We still love these chairs. They are very sturdy and stand up well to my 3 year old bumping into them and climbing up them to eat at the counter. I would recommend these chairs. They are the perfect height and sturdy. My 2yo daughter has claimed the end one and she can climb up easily. The chair is sturdy and well balanced. No concern for it tipping on her. The colors look great in my kitchen, too. I did not love putting them together. Hey, who loves putting things together? They were not difficult and the instructions were okay to follow. I spent a lot of time on the first one to make sure I was assembling correctly. The next 3 were easy. I looked at a lot of counter-height chairs. I definitely found the best ones! Get these!

Assembly and required, but higher quality than anticipated
I have been looking for affordable counter height barstools for over a year. I was hopeful when I saw this set. Design matches well with my kitchen. Assembly took a hour or so but the parts are all labeled well and pre drilled holes in legs was helpful. Standard counter height as shown in pictures. Very sturdy but will probably buy pads to make more comfortable for sitting on as well as felt pads for bottom of legs. Both swivel with ease. Pleased with purchase overall.

Read this before you read the other reviews
Some of the reviews I read are so funny. The ones about a dent in the chair, and the one about the slit that they tried to cover with paint. These are farmhouse stools and those marks are INTENTIONAL. They did not try and hide something with black paint, nor are they really “dents”. Farmhouse wood is distressed by nature, and this is a design that is trying to keep with that look. If you don’t like that aspect, don’t buy them. We like it.On to the stools themselves: They are very nice looking stools that went together relatively easily. My suggestion is to build the bottom half without the actual seat, then set them on the floor so that all legs are touching the ground and then tighten everything up. If you don’t, things are likely not to be level and no one likes a wobbly stool.The weakest part of these stools is where the back meets the seat and that part comes pre-assembled. One of mine was done poorly and the back was not flush with the seat. It cracked on the first use. I returned it. I checked the others and tightened the screws on all of them to make sure that the back would be flush and then we have had no more trouble. That part is the only part I don’t like about these stools. Hopefully they will hold up over time, but I would have designed them a bit differently.Hope that helps.

I have been looking for counter top chairs for months since we updated our kitchen. Some of the chairs on line or so expensive!I finally came across these chairs. The description said white, but I am happy to report they are not a bright white, more like an antique white- which was perfect for us. The reviews online say that the chairs are difficult to put together. My husband said it took him no more than 15 per chair (we ordered 4 chairs total). The chairs look great, and have a wide enough base for a bigger person to sit on. They swivel nicely and appear to be really easy to clean. The only thing I was surprised about was the height of the back of the chair. I am used to the backs being much taller. But the more I looked at them, the more I liked them. They tuck underneath the countertop perfectly.I took a lot of pics to show the height.Overall, highly recommend for a reasonably priced chair!!
