Product Overview

Learning Resources Rainbow Bean Bags are a vibrant set of six soft, lightweight sensory toys designed to support early childhood development in fun and engaging ways. Perfectly sized for small hands, each bean bag measures 4 inches and comes in bright rainbow colors—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. These colorful bags are ideal for children ages 3 and up (PreK+) and serve as both playful tools and educational aids. Whether used at home, in preschool classrooms, or during therapy sessions, the bean bags encourage active play that strengthens physical abilities while introducing foundational concepts like counting, sorting, and color recognition.

Key Features

  • Six Brightly Colored Bean Bags: Each of the six bean bags is crafted in a distinct hue from the rainbow spectrum, making them visually appealing and easy for young children to identify. The vivid colors not only attract attention but also support color-matching and sorting activities during structured learning time.
  • Supports Gross Motor Skills & Hand-Eye Coordination: Through tossing, catching, and throwing exercises, these bean bags help children develop essential motor skills. Repetitive movements required during games enhance coordination, balance, and core strength—all critical components of physical development in early learners.
  • Educational Value in Every Bag: Beyond physical activity, the bean bags double as effective teaching tools. They can be used to reinforce lessons on counting by having children count aloud as they pick up each bag, or to practice sorting by color or size. Teachers often integrate them into body part identification games—children may hold up the red bag when asked about the heart or point to the blue one when naming the sky—making abstract concepts tangible through play.
  • Includes Activity Suggestions: To help parents, caregivers, and educators get started, this set comes with suggested activities that guide users in creating structured games and learning moments. These ideas range from simple target tosses to more complex relay races, ensuring there’s always something new and stimulating for kids to explore.

Benefits & Use Cases

The Learning Resources Rainbow Bean Bags are incredibly versatile, suitable for a wide range of environments and purposes. In homes, they make an excellent addition to playtime routines, offering hours of interactive fun between siblings or parent-child bonding. Parents can use them to create quick games during quiet time or incorporate them into morning energizers to get kids moving.

In classroom settings, teachers leverage the bean bags for group activities that promote teamwork and focus. For example, a teacher might call out a color, and students must race to retrieve the corresponding bag—turning a basic skill like color recognition into an energetic game. Similarly, using the bags for counting practice helps reinforce number sense in a dynamic way; students might be asked to line up five bean bags and then count them together as a class.

Therapists and early childhood specialists also find value in these bean bags due to their sensory-friendly design and ability to support bilateral coordination—the simultaneous use of both sides of the body. Activities such as passing a bag from left hand to right while hopping or balancing on one foot challenge coordination in a playful context, which is especially beneficial for children working on developmental milestones.

Moreover, the compact size and light weight make transportation easy, allowing for use in various locations—whether it’s a daycare center, outdoor playground, or even a family picnic. Their durability (with proper care) ensures long-term usability, though supervision is recommended during play to prevent misuse.

Important Notes

While many users praise the accurate colors and educational benefits of these bean bags, feedback indicates some concerns regarding material quality. Some customers have noted that the fabric may feel thin and could degrade if exposed to moisture or rough handling. It’s advised to keep the bean bags dry and avoid submerging them in water. Additionally, adult supervision during play is encouraged, particularly with younger children, to ensure safe and appropriate use.

Despite these considerations, the overall consensus highlights the product’s value in supporting active learning and motor development. When used as intended and cared for properly, the Learning Resources Rainbow Bean Bags offer a reliable, colorful, and developmentally beneficial toy that grows with your child’s abilities over time.

    Great tool for homeschool
I added these to my homeschool items to use for learning games for my boys and they love them. It not as filled as I have used other brands but they have lasted which I’m surprised since boys can be on the rougher side when playing. It’s a great add on!

Works great for my seeing and cutting table
I use these to anchor fabrics and piles on my cutting table. They anchor well without being too heavy.

Fun to toss and learn colors with!
Vibrant colors! I worry about them lasting, however, because the material feels thin and like it may tear when being tossed around by my one year old son.. We shall see

Not as sturdy as they were before
I had a set of these before from the same company for my therapy practice with children, and they were made of a thicker, more durable canvas. I wish I had not given them away. So I re-ordered the same ones, or so I thought. These are made with a thinner material of less weight. I’m disappointed that the quality has gone down. I will still use them for games with my child, but they don’t make them like they did before.

    Really Handy!
I use these to prop up my GPS, when I put it in front of the instrument cluster in my Jeep. One on each side, one in the back…the GPS is held high enough so the cord goes from the bottom of the GPS to the accessory hole to be charged while I am driving, without being pinched.

    Enjoy them for a week!
These are really low quality. They started coming apart after about a week of use. The fabric is low quality and shows significant wear quickly.

    Bean bag toss!
I bought these for my son’s first birthday party. The kids used these for a bean bag toss and they were perfect! Nice bright colors; red, yellow, orange, blue, green, and purple. Everyone was asking where I got them. Yay for amazon!

Las costuras son muy muy débiles. Llegaron ya descosidos y con semillas fuera.
