Read the package contents description before hollering at your wife.
At first I was very unhappy, BUT, that was my fault for not reading the description of the parts when it arrived, the same day I ordered it. In the box, was the base, the lamp head, the plug, the remote, and the two pieces that go between the base and the lamp head. Both of those pieces, looked to me, to be solid metal pieces. I WAS WRONG. The top piece, though it looks to be a solid metal piece, is in fact, bendable and shapeable. Once I figured that out, I put the lamp together (very simple and easy assembly), clamped it to my desk, plugged it in, and turned it on. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH THIS LAMP. You will have to supply your own AAA batteries (2) for the remote. With this lamp I have several levels of brightness as well as several levels of color ( from about 3000K [warm light] to about 6000K [daylight] ). I personally like the whiter light (6000K). It also has a timer (1 hr., 2 hr. and 4 hr.), so if you forget to turn it off, it will shut itself off. My total cost for this lamp ,with coupon and Prime, was under $40.00. I am verry happy with this purchase.

Okay, it’s not super sturdy, but definitely sturdy enough if you don’t yank it around. I cut a little piece of a grip-it pad to go between metal disk on bottom of the clamp. It has rubber pad on top so it hangs on tightly.I set up workstation for my daughter when she’s home, but I will use it for artwork. This light is high enough for me to use a portable drafting board or easel with no problem. I love the easily adjustable light warmth a brightness, as well as the moving arms to direct light where I need it.Many people complain that the cord doesn’t fit the grooves along the sides of the gooseneck portion. Even with arthritis in my hands I found it very easy to tuck it in. There are no grooves on the lower portion. May add a couple of electrical ties there, but it really doesn’t bother me.I did feel a little of the heat some have complained about, but I turn off any light I’m not using, so again, no biggie.If you’re heavy handed and find it necessary to yank electrical devices around, maybe go for something stronger, but I find that this light is everything I was looking for!

Great for a three screen desk, lots of options.
I hardly ever give something a five star rating because “I love it!” seems a bit much. But since 4 stars is “I like it” and I really like it, I’ll give it 5. I have two big monitors and a laptop. This light attaches to the desk and arches up over the monitors. The arms can be moved horizontally to match the angle of the two bigger monitors and casts good light on the keyboard. The flexible goose neck is surprisingly sturdy and stable. I only bent it once to fit my rig, but it feels like it would handle frequent flexing pretty well. It’s pretty bright and you can adjust the brightness and cool/warm tones. It has a remote, which I thought was going to be useless (I mean the lamp controls are less than 2 feet from my hands) but I don’t have to reach my arm up in the middle of a call to adjust brightness and that’s actually nice. It has six presets for morning (warm bright light), reading (blended warm and cool), working at your desk (more like daylight), gaming (really bright), for getting up to feed a baby (dim and warm) and night (very dim and warm). I’m surprised how much I use those functions.

BIG. Nice Features but A Little Flimsy and Could be Brighter
My first reaction was “Wow, this is bigger than I expected”. Fully assembled and arms extended wide, it’s 24″ tall, 31″ wide, and 14″ deep. Five adjustable color temperatures, various brightness levels, a remote control (didn’t expect that) with a sleep timer. 1 hour, 2 hour, or 4 hour auto-shutoff. It also has a few preset color and brightness combinations, but you can’t set your own. The all white model is clean and slim. Very minimalistic. I like that.Room for improvement… (1) It’s a little flimsy at the joints. Nothing tightens the light head to the flexible gooseneck, it just sits loosely in a T-slot. The joint where the riser connects to the gooseneck is weak and loose, held only by a tiny screw. The screw isn’t designed to keep it tight, but only stop it from coming apart. Poor design. You definitely need to use both hands to adjust and be careful or you would break the joints. (2) The riser isn’t adjustable. I wish I could raise and lower it. The light bars sit 24″ high when assembled. (3) The light is a little dim, even on the highest setting. It’s usable, but I wish it would go a bit brighter. I’m keeping it because I don’t see myself adjusting it once the position is set. If I needed to adjust the position frequently, this would never hold up.
