Benefits & Use Cases
These carpet stair treads serve multiple purposes beyond mere decoration. By covering exposed wood, laminate, or tile, they prevent unsightly scratches, scuffs, and dents caused by regular foot traffic. The soft, cushioned surface adds comfort underfoot, reducing fatigue when climbing stairs—especially beneficial for families with children, elderly members, or individuals with joint sensitivity. The breathable linen material helps manage moisture, making it suitable for areas near entryways, bathrooms, or exterior steps where occasional splashes or humidity may occur.
The neutral linen color blends effortlessly with a wide range of design schemes, from minimalist modern to rustic farmhouse aesthetics. Its understated elegance allows it to enhance rather than overpower existing stair finishes. For renters, the non-permanent nature of the treads is a major advantage; they can be installed quickly without damaging walls, railings, or flooring underneath. When it’s time to move, the treads come off cleanly and leave no residue behind.
Beyond residential use, these treads also work well in small commercial spaces such as boutique offices, guest houses, or rental properties where quick upgrades and easy maintenance are priorities. Their lightweight design makes them portable and easy to store when not in use.
Installation & Maintenance Tips
To achieve optimal performance and longevity, prepare your stair surface before installation. Remove any dust, debris, or oils using a mild cleaner and allow the area to dry completely. If desired, you can secure the treads temporarily using double-sided mounting tape or non-marking fasteners—ideal for preventing slips without causing damage. Avoid using harsh adhesives that could discolor the treads or leave sticky residues upon removal.
For indoor use, place the treads centered on each step to ensure balanced coverage. On outdoor stairs, monitor weather conditions—prolonged exposure to heavy rain, snow, or intense sunlight may affect appearance over time. While the linen material is relatively resistant to mildew, always allow treads to dry thoroughly if exposed to excess moisture. Regular vacuuming or light brushing helps maintain cleanliness and preserves texture.
Important Notes
This product is sold as a bundle of 15 separate treads—no additional hardware or adhesive is included. Installation is intended to be low-impact and reversible. Not recommended for use on highly polished, extremely slippery, or uneven surfaces unless properly prepared with non-skid pads or grip enhancers. Always test one tread first to confirm compatibility with your specific stair type and environment.
Please refer to the provided product images for visual reference regarding size accuracy, color variation, and realistic installation examples. Actual results may vary slightly depending on lighting, stair curvature, and flooring material underneath.

No more slippery stair steps
The stair steps in our home are made of wood and can be very slippery at times, especially for our little dog. I got these mainly to help him overcome his fear of slipping while going up or down the stairs, so far, they work great. The stair treads are peel and stick, making them extremely easy to install. One point of advice before installing them, if you have wooden steps, especially if they have some sort of wax or polish on them, I would clean them really well to ensure the treads have a good surface to adhere to. I had no problem getting mine to stick and I even had to remove a couple and reposition them and they still stuck as needed. I think there is just enough of the sticky substance for them to adhere to the steps but not so much that it leaves a messy residue if you remove them. This may or may not be a good thing. If, by chance, you get these and they do not stick well, you can use some spray adhesive to help hold them down to your liking. While these treads aren’t very thick, they are comfortable, especially on bare feet. I think they are of the appropriate thickness for the purpose they were designed for. There are four choices of colors, and you can get a pack of 7 or 15, depending on the number of steps you have. Although our steps are oak and brownish in color, I decided to get the darker treads so there will be more contrast for our dog to see them better. He’s still somewhat timid with the stairs but he’s not had time to adjust to this new surface yet.Overall, these are a good choice if you have slippery steps or if you just want to add some style and comfort to your steps. And these could actually help to prevent slips and falls, a very big plus in my mind!

They are cheap for a reason
Ok purchased thesesJust to cover the pine stairs going into the basement until I could figure out a more permanent solution. On sale, 30 bucks not a bad idea. Here is why I gave them three star ratingâ¦â¦ I had to staple them down because the adhesive back is a joke. Take that into mind when buying. They donât look bad, but there is about 20 staples in each one holding them fast to the tread.

Sticks To
These stair treads do stick to the steps. I like them. The problem is the stair treads have a light beige color, but the edging is gray. Why would the company put the gray edging with the beige color is my question. Should have been a light beige or in the tan/brown family but please not that gray.

Easy to apply, soft, and gets the job done
These were easy to apply after peeling the backing off. The dark brown is a nice neutral color. It will either blend in with a darker floor color, or accent a lighter one.The surface of these treads are soft on the feet, and prevent slipping- we have extremely slick stairs and these help. The only thing that was a little off was the quantity for the price. There are only 7 that come in a pack, so unless you only have a few steps to cover in your home, you will need to buy more of these or a larger pack. I like mine but will be needing more.

When they work, they work
But half the package arrived with the sticky backing defective and only barely tacky at all. Those ones slide around and fall off the stairs and look terrible. It’s not a problem of the stairs being dirty, it’s that the sticky material was defective right from the moment the backing was removed. The ones that worked, worked okay tho.

Makes stairs non-slip
Wooden stair treads can be very dangerous to both adults and pets alike. I now have senior dogs and we are also getting older so we are making more choices to help improve safety around our home. These MNIGM stair tread mats are part of that plan. When we first moved to our new home, my dogs were slipping and sliding like crazy on the slick stair treads. After a couple of heart-dropping incidents, we knew we had to put something on those treads and these stair mats are working well. The color is pretty neutral and should work well with many home decors. They are pretty easy to install and are holding up pretty well after 2 months. They clean up nicely with a regular broom or hand vacuums, even with dog hair, especially compared with thicker carpet that never seems to release fur and hair. These stair mats thin, but seem durable, this means that things like high heel shoes don’t get caught up in them, which is also nice. We appreciate the fact that these have made our home safer and I feel they will last for a few years. When they do wear out, I would have no issue in choosing the stair tread mat option again.

Great stair treads – neutral decor and easy to install
These stair treads are functional and work with my decor. The design is quite neutral so I would think they would work for a lot of other homes as well. It took less than 10 min to put these down on my stairs so very easy install. The material feels soft against my bare feet and I think they’ll do the job of being anti-slip. I have two young children at home so slipping and falling down the stairs is always a concern. One of the stair treads came with a wrinkle (slight manufacturing defect), but not a major problem. I would recommend!

Nice stair tread mats
Very nice set of stair tread mats. I ordered the brown color and they matched my dark oak hardwood stair treads perfectly. To stick them down, you just remove the backing to uncover the sticky nano adhesive and stick them down on stair. When down, they don’t move at all.
