Whether installed in a living room, bedroom, kitchen, or covered patio, the fan delivers quiet, efficient airflow thanks to its advanced DC motor technology. The included RC400 hand-held remote provides intuitive control over speed, direction, and lighting, allowing you to adjust comfort settings from anywhere in the room. With a lifetime motor warranty and durable construction rated for wet environments, this ceiling fan is built to last while delivering year-round value and convenience.
Key Features
- Oil-Rubbed Bronze Finish & Three Matching Blades: The fan’s housing and blades are finished in a rich Oil-Rubbed Bronze, creating a cohesive, elegant look that enhances any space. The three-blade configuration ensures balanced air movement and visual symmetry.
- Reversible DC Motor: A high-efficiency six-speed DC motor operates quietly and enables reversible operation. In summer mode (counterclockwise), it creates a cooling breeze, while winter mode (clockwise) circulates warm air trapped near the ceiling, improving energy efficiency.
- Full-Range Dimming Remote Control: The included RC400 remote offers On/Off functionality, six speed settings, forward and reverse control, and full-range dimming—ideal for adjusting both fan speed and light brightness without leaving your seat.
- Custom LED Light Kit Ready: While no bulb or pre-installed light kit is included, the fan is compatible with the optional 20W K9787L LED light kit (sold separately), providing an energy-efficient lighting solution when desired.
- Durable, Wet-Rated Construction: Rated for use in damp or humid conditions, this fan is suitable for covered outdoor areas such as patios, porches, sunrooms, or screened-in decks exposed to moisture.
- Quiet Operation: Engineered for silent performance, the fan delivers strong airflow with minimal noise—making it ideal for bedrooms, home offices, or any space where quiet operation is essential.

Benefits & Use Cases
The Minka-Aire Simple 44″ Ceiling Fan excels in versatility, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications. In indoor settings, it enhances comfort in living rooms, bedrooms, and kitchens by providing consistent airflow and temperature regulation. Its quiet operation ensures it won’t disrupt daily activities or sleep, making it a great choice for residential spaces. For outdoor use, the wet-rated design allows installation in covered areas like patios, decks, or screened porches where exposure to humidity or occasional rain is possible—but direct sunlight and open weather should be avoided per safety standards.
One of the standout benefits of this fan is its reversible DC motor, which adapts to seasonal needs. During warmer months, running the fan counterclockwise creates a wind-chill effect, helping lower perceived temperatures and reduce reliance on air conditioning. In colder seasons, reversing the rotation helps distribute warm air rising near the ceiling, reducing the workload on heating systems and improving overall energy efficiency. This dual functionality supports year-round comfort and cost savings.
The inclusion of the RC400 remote adds significant convenience. Users can easily adjust fan speed and light intensity from across the room, eliminating the need to get up during movie nights or when reading in bed. The full-range dimming feature allows for soft ambient lighting without harsh glare, enhancing mood and functionality.
Though no light bulb is included, the fan’s compatibility with the K9787L LED kit gives users flexibility. Those who prefer a purely functional fan can skip the lighting entirely, while others can add energy-efficient illumination at their discretion. This modular approach keeps initial setup simple and cost-effective.
Additionally, the fan’s sleek, unobtrusive design ensures it blends seamlessly into existing decor. The Oil-Rubbed Bronze finish provides a timeless appeal that resists fading or tarnishing over time, maintaining its refined look for years.
Important Notes
- The fan does not include a light bulb or pre-installed LED light kit. The optional K9787L must be purchased separately if lighting functionality is desired.
- To enable voice control via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, you must purchase and install the Bond Hub BD-1000 (sold separately).
- An optional WC400 wall-mounted remote control is available for those who prefer fixed wall switches over handheld remotes.
- All necessary mounting hardware is included: one 6″ downrod, canopy, screws, and the RC400 remote.
- Users report that the fan operates silently, delivering effective airflow without noticeable noise—confirmed through real-world experience.
- While rated for wet locations, proper installation under covered structures is required to ensure longevity and safe operation.

Name says it all
The Minka Simple fan is just what it says, Simple. So many fans out there are, for lack of a better word, junky and old-fashioned looking, even when they try to be contemporary. This fan on the other hand is elegant and truly minimalist. This does not mean, however, it isn’t functional. This thing really moves air. I bought the 44″ blade size, installed it on a 9′ sloped ceiling, in a 12 x 12 room. Even Minka said get the 52″ for this size room, but I wanted less fan on my ceiling, so I got the smaller size. Was worried it wouldn’t move enough air. I worried for nothing. This thing moves a ton of air, even at medium speed. Having said this, if you’re in a super hot climate(I’m not), probably go 52″ for this size room. What else? The included 6″ downrod was perfect for my ceiling height. I like the white color, disappeared into the white ceiling. I like the remote control with 6 variable speeds. I like the reverse function on the remote control for counterclockwise motion. Despite what you may read in some other reviews, I think the DC motor is very quiet. Yes, there’s a little bit of “whoop whoop” at high speed due to the design of the fan blades, but it is still quiet in my opinion. I bought the WC400 wall control as well, didn’t really need it but it looks cool. Also bought the light kit: K9787 – WHF(this is the color code for a white fan). Didn’t need it for this fan, but planning on buying a couple more and will install light where necessary. Don’t forget the slope adapter: A245 – WHF(this is the color code for a white fan) if you have any kind of sloped ceiling.

what’s not to like
It’s sleek, modern, easy to clean, has multiple functions, quiet and a little goes a long way. It could connect to my Lutron lights if I wanted but haven’t gotten around to that yet. It’s simply fabulous.

Great fan!
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like this fan. It’s modern, attractive and quiet even at the highest setting. Nor does it shake. And it moves the air well. I would buy it again for sure.

Silent relief
This is a beautiful, simple, streamlined design and operates silently! It makes a small whirr on the highest setting but not a peep on levels 1-4.I had an electrician install it with no problem. The only thing that is surprisingly poorly designed is the remote. It’s usable but is possible the worst design I’ve come across in a remote.

Great Fan but installation not fun
The fans have been in for a week and are working fine: smooth, quiet, and moving air. The only complaint I have is about the installation instructions. The instructions are incomplete. There are parts that one must use but those parts are never mentioned anywhere in the installation instructions. Also, there are figures in the installation instructions that are never referenced in the text. Of greatest concern, however, is a rubber cover on one part that covers two holes and the instructions require you to attach another part to those holes. Do you cut holes in the rubber to accomplish the attachment or do you remove the rubber? Who knows? I contacted the manufacturer’s help line and, after 20 minutes wait, a person answered and apparently accidentally hung up on me. So I took photos of the issue and sent the photos and an explanation to them via email. As of this writing, I have not received any response. So I say, “WING IT”. I completely removed the rubber part and it all works fine for now.

Will NOT WORK with wall switch
Because of strange design/engineering flaw, this fan WILL NOT WORK with a wall switch. It will also NOT work with a wall light switch. This fan is designed to work ONLY with the provided remote. If you use smart WIFI wall fan switches (we use Treatlife, which are excellent), the fan WILL NOT WORK.They designed this fan with a separate, inline remote receiver box. Unlike other, similar designs, this box has BLK-WHT-Neutral input only, and eight or so propriety wires for output. The unfortunate consequences of this terrible engineering decision are:(1) Lights. The inline receiver box only has three wires (black, white, green). There is no light input wire (red). Lights can ONLY be controlled by the remote. No other way. If you have a smart WIFI fan/light switch, it will NOT control the light.(2) Fan. The inline receiver box can be connected to fan control wires (black, white) leading to a smart wall switch. HOWEVER, the inline receiver box does NOT “remember” its setting if it loses power. This means that when you turn the fan off at the smart WIFI wall switch, it goes off as intended. But when you flip the fan switch back on, the inline receiver defaults to the “off” position, and the fan does not start. In other words, “off” works fine, but “on” requires the remote control. I’ve tested this repeatedly, and verified every connection.Honestly, these are simply questionable – even poor – engineering decisions. Smart WIFI wall switches are gaining in popularity, and an increasing number of people have them in their whole house. As a result, we have wasted two days of effort, and will be returning $2400 worth of fans.Edit: If you are running into similar fan selection issues, what we finally did is watched installation videos on YT to see how the remote receiver was wired. If you see the same number of wires on both input/output, you are good. If you see MORE wires coming out than going in, then you may have trouble. Particularly if one of the wires is grey.

Very small scale!
This 44″ white fan was disapointing- it looks so small in my 11′ x 12′ room – perhaps it’s because the fan has such simple, clean lines? (but that’s why i bought it!) I do like that the white finish is matte and not shiny. We bought the light kit for this and the light is bright or you can dim it.

Great great fan
Bought this to put on our covered deck. We live in a very windy area. The fan is solid. No noise at all and it cools the deck down a lot. I was surprised that it produced so much air circulation considering the size. The remote is great and easy to use. We like the numerous speeds. It is the best fan we have ever had. I plan to buy another for my other deck.
