Inspired by the natural flow of ocean waves, its distinctive blade architecture creates a sculptural focal point while delivering powerful, consistent airflow across medium to large rooms. Engineered with a quiet, reversible motor and integrated dimmable LED lighting, this fan supports year-round comfort—cooling in summer and circulating warm air in winter to reduce heating costs. The included hand-held remote and wall control offer flexible operation, making adjustments effortless no matter where you are in the room. Finished in rich Distressed Koa wood tones, the fan complements modern, transitional, and coastal-inspired interiors, adding warmth and visual depth. Whether installed in a living area, master bedroom, or sunroom, the Light Wave fan enhances both form and function without sacrificing reliability.

Key Features

  • Unique Wave-Inspired Blade Design: Each of the three blades mimics the elegant, tubular curves of ocean waves, offering a one-of-a-kind look that transforms your ceiling into a dynamic architectural element.

  • Reversible Quiet Motor: The three-speed reversible motor operates smoothly and quietly, enabling forward mode for cooling during warmer months and reverse mode to push warm air down in colder seasons, improving circulation and reducing energy use.

Benefits & Use Cases

The Minka-Aire Light Wave ceiling fan excels in both performance and style, making it a versatile choice for contemporary homes. Its quiet operation ensures it won’t disrupt sleep or conversation, making it especially well-suited for bedrooms, home offices, or reading nooks. The reversible motor enhances comfort all year long—by circulating cool air on hot days and pushing stagnant warm air down during winter months, helping maintain even temperatures without overworking your HVAC system. This contributes to noticeable energy savings over time.

The integrated dimmable LED light offers practical benefits beyond basic lighting. It provides ample illumination for activities like reading or cooking while using significantly less energy than traditional bulbs. Because it’s built into the fan, it eliminates the need for additional fixtures and reduces clutter on your ceiling. The white opal glass diffuser softens the light output, creating a pleasant ambiance ideal for relaxing evenings or entertaining guests.

Control flexibility sets this model apart. The included wall control allows easy adjustment when seated at a desk or dining table, while the handheld remote lets you fine-tune speed and lighting from the couch or bed. Many users appreciate this dual-control setup, which adds convenience without complicating the interface. Installation is straightforward for those with basic electrical knowledge, though professional help is recommended for optimal safety, particularly when working with ceiling wiring and mounting hardware.

The Distressed Koa finish brings natural warmth and texture to any space. Koa wood has long been prized for its rich grain patterns and golden hues, and the distressed treatment enhances its rustic-chic appeal. This finish pairs beautifully with neutral palettes, mid-century modern decor, and coastal themes, adding visual interest without overwhelming the room. The wave-shaped blades further elevate the design, creating movement and flow even when the fan isn’t running—making it a true statement piece.

Important Notes

  • Smart Home Integration: To enable voice control via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, you must purchase the separate Bond hub BD-1000. The fan itself does not include this accessory.
  • Additional Wall Controls: While one WCS213 wall control is included, extra units can be purchased separately if needed for multiple entry points or shared spaces.
  • Installation Recommendation: Though DIY installation is possible, hiring a licensed electrician is advised to ensure proper wiring, secure mounting, and compliance with local codes.
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty: All Minka-Aire fans come with a lifetime motor warranty, covering defects and wear under normal use—giving customers confidence in long-term durability and performance.
  • Energy-Efficient Lighting: The integrated LED kit is designed for extended use, minimizing the need for frequent bulb replacements and reducing overall maintenance.

    Quietest Fan I Never Heard
I ordered two of these units for a fairly large 900 sq ft room in our home with 15 ft ceilings.Great looking fans…. They came with both wall mounted controllers, and hand held remotes as well. I also used a separate 24″ Textured Black down rod for my installation. Hanging from the beams above, this lowered the fans to a height of roughly 10 ft off the floor.I’ve installed more ceiling fans than I care to count, but these were a little more difficult than expected. After messing with the first one, the second one was a piece of cake. The problem was getting the remote receiver properly installed. This is usually done last, but with this one it had to be wired in first. Of course, if your not using a wireless remote, then it’s an easy, straight forward installation. These fans are QUIET…. I hear nothing on the Low or Medium speeds, and when set to high speed, the only sound heard is that of the wind! They efficiently move a lot of air as well. I am more than pleased with these fans!My only complaint would be the fact that both fans currently operate on the same frequency, so one controller operates both fans. Sounds like no big deal, until you hit a button on the controller and only “one” of the fans picks up the signal. Now your fans are operating out of sync!!!You can separate them though, so that they each operate on a different frequency. Usually this is just a case of flipping a few switches on the remote and the corresponding receiver above, but not with these fans… the receiver has no switches, they have to “Learn” a frequency change. This is very convenient if your fans are operating on separate circuits, but mine are both in the same room, powered off the same breaker. Which means I have to disconnect one fan from the power source, in order to change the operating frequency of the other…. this means one of the fans must be completely disassembled and taken down to access the power wire above… Why… because the receiver installation was #1 on the priority list during installation, remember.Farg’n pain in the…Great fans overall… I have ne regrets. I would certainly by them again.I would like to get my hands on the responsible engineer though…LOL

    Quite, classy
Pros:* Whisper quite. On the fastest speed all you hear the wind moving. Not sure how they do it.* Zero wobble.* Included both remote and wall control.* I think it is classy looking. Far better than the typical fanLess than Pros:* Integration with Alexa requires another device – but works well when installed. – but you cannot control the brightness of the light, just on and off.* If you are going from two switch fan to this, it takes a bit to figure it out. But if you are comfortable with changing light switches and can look up on YouTube, then you can do it.* I opted to put in the 12″ drop which helps with airflow, but with the light centered on the bottom of the fan the light is not great in the edges of the room. But it is a bedroom and I do believe it would have been much better if I had used the default 6″ drop.Bottom line: My wife likes it.

Great looking fan, moves a lot of air
We bought three of these for adjacent rooms to replace some preexisting older fans. The assembly was relatively easy. I was impressed by the quiet operation. Two things took some time to figure out due to instructions.Because we had several fans close by, we had to change the broadcast channel for the remote and receiver so they wouldn’t interfere with each other. You don’t need to change anything on the fan assembly, just adjust switches on the back of the remote and follow the instructions on how to pair the remote and fan.The light has a dimmer built in. You need to hold down the main buttons on the remote to adjust the dim. If you just press the buttons, it works as an on/off switch.

    Nice modern fan
Bought this for my primary bedroom and also got a 12″ down rod for my 9′ ceilings. Install was fairly easy, I watched a Youtube video since the directions were not the best. I cut the wires to size since it can accommodate a very long down rod. Wedging the remote receiver into the slot was honestly the hardest part. I really like the modern styling. I have a Thuma bed frame, and the color is a bit darker than the frame but is complementing. It does push a lot of air on high, but isn’t a tornado. I sorta wished it did spin faster, but then any papers in a room would go flying. The only noise on high is a little cha-cha-cha sound from the cutting of the air, not the fan itself. The remote’s light switch is wonky, where if you press to dim it will get dimmer and dimmer but once at the lowest light setting it then starts to get brighter, making it hard to pin point on the lowest light setting.

    Puts out a great breeze
Puts out great volumes of air but extremely sensitive to vibrations or even heavy footsteps as the glass light dome tends to reverberate /clink.Consider putting some type of thin bushing/cushion between glass and housing to act as a damper. Looks beautiful in our master bedroom and is otherwise pretty quiet.

    Quiet, beautiful, great value
Gorgeous, clean look. Remote easy to use. This fan comes with a wired in remote for your wall as well as the wireless remote. There are other fans for purchase here (I’ve bought as well) that only come with wireless remote. If you have double l.j ight switches, this wired remote wont fit per my electrician, thus I have it still in the package, trying to figure out what to do with it.These fans are smart and require a hub (?) By bond. I havent set up that yet, so no opinion. Just know you cant use voice control without more equipment.Very happy with these fans. Great product. Great price. Low noise. Beautiful. Peace to all.
