Great fan – Quiet and efficient
Bought this fan for guest bedroom – the 44 inch fan was perfect for the small size of the bedroom. Very attractive and quiet for sleeping. Performs well – has 3 speeds – moves air well and is very quiet on all speeds. Used low speed for sleeping and it kept the room nice and cool. Great remote. The light is bright, and has the ability to dim down to a soft light. Installation was a little difficult but not bad. Highly recommend this fan – very attractive design.

Just What I Wanted
Aesthetically, it looks great with my bedroom decor/colors. I would say the faux wood finish is not great, but not bad. I was hesitant to order another Minka fan because the last one is down to one speed and it would be more expensive to order a replacement part and have it repaired (which may be the idea). So far, I have only used the low speed at night. It’s been perfect for southern CA weather. The sound is a bit louder at medium speed, and it freaked me out a little because it sounded like it might come apart. It was professionally installed by a trusted electrician, so maybe I’m expecting too much. But the remote works great and if there is a problem at higher speeds, I will revise my rating.

Trouble from the get go!
Love the looks of this fan and I have a similar Minka in another room that works fine. This one has been a pain ever since it was installed. I’ve contacted the company in the past and got a response but what I was told to do didn’t solve my problem, which at the time was either the light or the fan randomly coming on at any hour of the day. I’m only leaving a review now, nearing a year since purchasing, because I’m sitting in my office listening to the annoying noise it’s making. It was installed by a qualified electrician and I’ve had it looked at since the installation. Maybe spending another one or two hundred to have him come back will solve the problem but I seriously doubt it. You’ve been warned!

Definitely worth the extra cost! Well constructed and runs very quite.
Recently purchased this fan in a different color (distressed koa) for a bedroom. Installation was easy and the fan worked so well that we purchased a second fan in white for the office. Fans are beautiful and we get multiple compliments on them. We have 3 Minka-Aire fans in total. Remotes can be programmed on different frequencies so they do not interfere with each other. Fan blades come weighed and balanced so the fans are extremely quite even on higher speeds. LED light is bright and lights the room well. LED light is also dimmable and adjusts to your preference. Happy with the purchase. Would purchase again.

Great fan but the light will limit the life of the fan
I really like the fan. It looks amazing and works well. My only problems are with the LED lighting.First, the light is built in and so if it dies you have to replace the entire fan. Let’s hope it lasts. Secondly, I was kind of disappointed to find out you can’t change the color temperature (Kelvin rating) on the light. This is a very simple thing with LED lights and is one of their great advantages over incandescent and fluorescent lighting. I have LED bulbs that cost just a few dollars each that have a simple switch on them to change the color temperature. Why can’t this lamp do this? The cost would be next to nothing for Minka. I’d rather just provide my own bulb so I don’t have to replace the entire lamp when the light eventually fails.Contrary to some other reviewers, the lamp DOES have a dimmer. Just hold down on one of the light buttons and it’ll cycle thru the range of brightness. Not sure why there are two buttons. They appear to do the exact same thing.

Beautiful Fan
Bought this for our newly remodeled four season porch. It is just the right size and just a touch of modern. Love the remote control. Have never liked chains or wires hanging down from ceiling fixtures to turn off and on. It has several needs and is soundless. A beautiful addition. Highly recommend.

Great fan. Well constructed
This fan dies seem to make a humming sound using the short rod. The other one we have makes no noise but had longer rod . We love the look of the fan and they have held up well and this is the 3rd one we have purchased to keep adding around our house

Looks nice, but several frustrations
The good:1. The fan’s looks are as advertised.2. The remote works well3. It moves a reasonable amount of air. I’m in a fairly small 10×10 room and the low setting is a very gentle breeze that I can just barely feel. The high setting is a bit ridiculous, but low is perfect.The bad:1. Installation instructions are pretty much useless. I’ve installed a fair number of fans so I eventually just ignored the instructions and improvised, which worked…but if you’re relying on the instructions, be prepared to be frustrated. Note: I gave it 1 star for ease of installation not because the installation was particularly difficult, but because the instructions were so useless.2. The light is horrible. It isn’t very bright and since it’s integral to the fan (vs. using normal, replaceable bulbs), there’s nothing you can do about it. Also, the light pretty much all goes straight down. The old fan that this one replaced had four bulbs which pointed down and out about 45-degrees. The result was more light and light that resulted in the light being more even across the room. With this fan the room is much darker and there are lots of shadows because what light there is all pretty much comes from one place.3. It’s loud. I bought this to replace an old fan with an AC motor because the bearings were starting to get loud. This brand new DC fan makes more noise than the old AC fan with bad bearings. The noise is from the motor…it’s an annoying hum at about 60hertz. The manual does say to give it 24 hours to break in. I will update my review after 24 hours to report if it has improved.Update: No reduction in hum after 24 hours.Overall a disappointment.

We had an electrician install the fan – it was done perfectly and works really well. The size is perfect for our bedroom which has a low ceiling – the joys of an older home – the bigger version would have been too big. While the fan made a âticking â noise in the beginning it has now settled down and the fan runs very quietly. Highly recommend this fan.

We had previously bought a Minka-Aire fan and love it. Bought a second one for another room. It arrived safely but won’t work. It is FAULTY. I am trying to get the company to communicate with me as I don’t feel I should have to pay the return shipping. I have emailed twice, two weeks later….no response. I was going to reorder the fan, but with the lack of communication from the company I definitely won’t !!
