Benefits & Use Cases
This Prepac Entryway Shoe Cubbie Bench is especially valuable for busy families who want to streamline their daily routines and maintain order in high-traffic areas. Instead of letting shoes pile up by the door, this bench offers a designated, organized spot for all types of footwear—from casual sneakers to heavy-duty work boots or seasonal snow boots. The open cubbies allow for easy visibility and access, so you can quickly grab what you need without digging through stacks.
Beyond storage, the bench provides a functional seating option right at your entry point. Guests can comfortably sit to remove their shoes, and family members can use it during hectic mornings when every second counts. Its sturdy construction supports regular use, and the smooth surface resists scratches and stains, keeping it looking fresh over time.
The design is intentionally understated yet stylish, blending well with existing furniture. The Drifted Gray color works harmoniously with neutral tones, whites, grays, and even warmer wood finishes. Because it’s made from engineered wood rather than solid hardwood, it’s more resistant to warping and moisture damage—though it should remain indoors only, away from direct sunlight or damp environments like basements or garages.
For renters, college students, or anyone living in smaller spaces, this bench is a smart investment. It eliminates the need for separate shoe racks and additional seating, saving money and floor space. Multi-generational homes will appreciate the safety features and stability, while minimalist decorators will value its clean lines and clutter-free aesthetic.
Important Notes
- The product ships flat-packed and requires assembly using the provided instructional guide. No additional hardware is typically needed beyond basic hand tools.
- Constructed from engineered wood (laminated composite), not solid hardwood; best suited for indoor use only.
- Not rated for outdoor exposure or high-humidity environments such as bathrooms or unfinished basements.
- For maximum safety, especially near stairways or in homes with children, secure the anti-tip bracket to a wall stud using appropriate fasteners.
- While the bench is sturdy, avoid placing excessive weight on the cubbies themselves—use them primarily for shoes, not heavy boxes or luggage.

Beautiful color!
I love the color on this! It’s a beautiful, deep brown. It feels sturdy and high quality. It fits perfectly in the closet, and holds shoes nicely! It works best for flatter shoes – you would probably need something different for boots.Overall, I would recommend!

STYLISH, FUNCTIONAL….BUT…
This shoe storage cubbie looks great, and it serves the purpose needed. It easily fits an average sized pair of shoes in the cubbies, except my husband used one cubby per shoe for his size 11 Nike tennis shoes as they were a bit snugger of a fit. If he puts them ‘shoe box’ style, they can fit, but for ease of use, we just did one shoe per cubbie for that pair. His other size 11 shoes (mostly slip on shoes like Vans etc) fit fine with both shoes in one cubby space. We were able to assemble it with relative ease.. nothing too complicated, however once we put the cubby dividers in, we ran into trouble. The dividers are about a half inch shorter than the width of the unit, so we were able to jiggy them from left to right which made it seem unsturdy and cheap. We ended up putting a couple of shims in the back to secure the gaps between the dividers and the main unit, and fortunately it’s not visible once the back is nailed on, because the cubbies are dark inside.Overall, it’s relatively sturdy for a shoe storage unit, but I’m not sure it would hold up well with regular use as a bench. I allow my kids (they’re 18 months to age 6) to use is while putting on their shoes, because they’re lighter weight, but my husband and I don’t use it to sit on because I don’t think it would last long with adult weights on it.For the price and the look, I am very happy. I wasn’t able to find anything that was solid wood and affordable and that looked similar, so I went with this one. Time will tell how well it holds up, but right now, it looks a LOT better than our previous pile of messy shoes, and it holds a lot of shoes.

GREAT item and SUPER customer service
I have bought several shoe racks in the past few years, with none of them working out. This time I wanted to spend some extra money and get something I am hoping to last for years. I really wanted something made of solid wood that looked EXACTLY like this, but I cannot find anything like it on the market.I really wanted something to sit behind my sofa to catch all the shoes and put a basket on top to catch all the “pocket junk” from when my husband comes in the door and cleans his pocket. It always ends up on the counter, the bookshelf, etc. So far, adding a basket to catch all his pocket goods has been a blessing! I live in an apartment so I am going to add a table lamp to this as well since it sits just inside my front door to make it triple purpose! All you need to put this to get is a hammer and Philip’s screwdriver. I would also recommend wood glue, personally. Before nailing the backing onto the piece, put a very thin line of glue, put the backing in place, then nail. It just prevents people from pushing the backing through the nails. Although, the backing is actually really thick unlike more assembly-required furniture items so I do not foresee this being a problem but with boys I always take the precaution. As for the customer packaging and customer service. The original packaging likely needs more TLC and more rethinking. It would save the company money and customers would be happier. I suggest they switch shippers as well. It was shipped via UPS and specifically says that it needs team lift. There were actually 2 UPS stickers that said team lift required. However, there was only 1 man that delivered it to us. We live in an upstairs apartment in a gated community. He parked outside of our gated community and walked it in and up the stairs all on his own. It weighs 58 lbs not including any packaging according to Amazon. The box was damaged on the ends. Upon opening the box, 4 of the parts were considerably damaged, including the corner completely broken off the top piece. On the assembly instructions there is a Customer Service number to call for issues. I have to say, for those who are uppity about needing to press numbers and such, there is no need for that. I was directly connected with a sweet woman who asked me my name and was able to look up my order. She asked what pieces were damaged. She told me it would take a few days to process, but the pieces would be in the mail. I received them. 9 days later. The box was again damaged on the ends by UPS, but there was a LOT better packaging and the pieces were very secure in the box and surrounded by some vacuum sealed foam stuff. Everything was perfect and I assembled easily. Their Customer Service definitely deserves props. It is really hard to find a company, especially online companies with excellent customer service.

So easy to assemble and feels like a solid piece of furniture.
I have assembled (or, tried to) several pieces of furniture over the years. I prepped for this one by taking a Xanax and having a box of tissues (for my tears) nearby. WOW! Iâve never had it so easy. The directions are simple, the pieces fit together seamlessly, and I only needed help fitting the shoe cubbies into the actual piece. Theyâre bulky and have to go in perfectly straight. Still, not a problem to do. Itâs solid and looks terrific. Big plus: no Allen wrenches!

Looks Great, But There Are Issues
I must say this bench looks beautiful. It does not look like a cheap piece of furniture. It is sturdy and elegant, as far as shoe cubby benches go. There were a few issues, however. First, the bench arrived almost 2 weeks past it’s “anticipated” arrival date. Additionally, athough it was relatively easy to put together, putting the slats together for the shoe holder was EXTREMELY difficult. It was supposed to take “2 minutes” and it took almost an hour for that part alone. The slats were so tight, it was impossible to get them all the way to the edge. Therefore, they stick out of the back and I was unable to place the back cover on the bench. I tried everything, from a hammer to wiggling them back and forth (which seemed to help more than anything. Hopefully, we’ll find some way to get them into place. Also, there is glue on the front edges of the boards. Yet, this can be wiped off relatively easily. They do provide a marker, which can be used to cover any spots where the bench may chip in the future. Overall, it really is a beautiful piece. However, had I known about the issues I wouldn’t have paid as much for it (the shipping cost more than the bench itself).

I’ve had this for a couple years now. Still looks good, hold up well and helps with storage. As a bonus my 400lb+ friend sat on it without realizing it’s not really a bench. I panicked, but no damage. Product is stronger than I expected.

This is a really nice looking bench for the price. It is ridiculously easy to put together…especially if you have experience building furniture. I agree with other reviews and I feel that the cubby holes are too small…my sonâs size 7 Jordans donât fit…I had to put one shoe per cubby…not a big deal…just weird that the holes are so small. I am very happy with the quality and the overall look. Not 5 stars because the cubby holes are too small.

Was easy to assemble and I was pleased with the assembled product.

Easy to put together, and 4 months later is holding up nicely to the abuse a family of 6 can throw at it. With 18 storage slots, that’s storage for 3 pair of shoes each. So much better than tripping over a bunch of shoes laying around at the front door.Admittedly the cubbie holes could be a little bigger but I can fit a pair of men’s size 11 in them if I turn one sideways. Other reviews say they should be able to put them in side by side, but that would just mean you can put fewer pair of shoes in it.

Really happy with this shoe storage bench. Fits menâs size 10 shoes no problem, 15 spaces great for organizing family entryway, doubles as a seat to tie shoes
