Benefits & Use Cases

This microwave is ideal for anyone living or traveling in an RV, motorhome, campervan, or tiny home where space, weight, and power consumption are critical considerations. Its 1.1 cubic foot interior provides ample room for plates, bowls, casseroles, and even small roasts—making it suitable for families or groups. The inclusion of convection and grilling functions means you can bake muffins, roast vegetables, or sear meats without bringing along bulky secondary appliances like portable griddles or toaster ovens.

For RVers who enjoy cooking fresh meals instead of relying solely on pre-packaged options, this microwave supports healthier eating habits with greater flavor and texture control. The multi-stage cooking feature simplifies tasks like defrosting frozen pizza dough before baking or browning a dish after initial warming—ideal for travelers who want restaurant-quality results with minimal effort.

Additionally, the express cooking modes make it easy to quickly warm leftovers, boil water for coffee, or pop snacks—all without navigating complex menus. Whether you’re parked at a scenic campsite or settled into long-term boondocking, this microwave adds practicality and comfort to daily routines.

Important Notes

While many users praise the RecPro microwave for its value and expanded cooking capabilities compared to standard RV microwaves, some have reported concerns about build quality, particularly regarding the door mechanism and included mounting screws. These issues appear inconsistently across units, suggesting variability in manufacturing batches. As such, buyers may want to inspect received items carefully and verify all components before final installation.

Always confirm that your RV’s electrical system supplies stable 120V power before operating this appliance. No specific warranty information is confirmed in available documentation, so customers should check retailer policies or manufacturer support channels for coverage details.

No accessories—such as turntables, racks, or user manuals—are explicitly listed as included; however, standard mounting hardware is typically provided for cabinet or countertop installation. For best performance, refer to recommended usage guidelines and avoid overloading the interior beyond safe capacity limits.

    Extremely quiet, surprised!
Works like a charm, extremely quiet. Only con was with the frame piece, the four short screws to mount it to the oven were missing from the bag. However, the bag did contain the six screws needed to secure it to the cabinet. Easy to install.

    VERY INACCURATE DESCRIPTION
The description for this unit is nowhere close to being accurate. First, it is not a “RecPro” brand (whatever that is) but instead is a High Pointe clearly marked on the front (that MAY be a plus, who knows, but the unit pictured in the listing bears no resemblance whatsoever to the unit we received) Compare the pictures with those of the listing.More aggravating though, was discovering that NO, it is by no means a DIRECT replacement for RV High Pointe units as promised in the headlines. We were so excited when we went to install the unit, only to find that it is wider, taller, AND deeper than the opening for the original unit in our Winnebago 2108DS (2021 model). Therefore, we had to cut the wood in the opening of our brand new trailer for the unit to slide in.The most frustrating part though, was finding that the entire unit is about 1 ” DEEPER than the available space in our cabinet, meaning the trim piece would have been protruding from the cabinet face by the same amount. Having committed ourselves with a gaping larger hole in the cabinet, we were committed to making this work. We decided the only solution was to move the outer trim piece/installation panel further in on the unit by the missing inch of depth required. This took several hours, as we had to:1. Remove the upper and lower metal plenums on the unit and trim 1 inch of each2. carefully cut the upper row of louvers at the bottom of the trim panel to allow clearance for the actual base of the unit3. Reposition the trim panel on the unit and re-drill mounting holesWhen all is said and done, the unit’s installation looked pretty neat.. from eye height you don’t notice the cutout in the lower trim (but visible in one of the photos). And the additional protrusion of the door wouldn’t seem out of place to a casual observer. There is scarcely 1/2″ of additional room in the cabinet to accommodate the trim piece side-to-side (see pictures again). This is a project NOT for the faint of heart, and will require some tools to accomplish (at minimum, a jig saw to cut the wooden opening, an angle grinder to trim the top/bottom plenums, and metal snips to carefully remove one row of louvers underneath the unit.Once the misery was over (and I DO mean misery.. couped up with my buddy in an unpowered/no-A/C unit with Texas sun beating down for a good 3 hours or so), the larger interior size of this unit will definitely be a plus, as we expect we’ll likely never use the cumbersome, manual-light propane oven that came with the trailer.I did run an extension cord out and plugged in the unit. It seemed to go through the basic paces during a quick test, but of course we won’t know if we got a lemon or not until the first time we take our trailer back out on the road and put it through its paces. Our low rating is based, primarily, on the grossly inaccurate description, which is likely going to cause some grief for other unsuspecting buyers, and in hopes that the seller takes heed and corrects the listing details, at which time I’ll be happy to revise my rating.OH, finally no attachment screws were included for the trim–to-unit install (I had to cannibalize from the old unit) and the screws for the outer trim panel were shiny metal rather than subtle dark colored ones as used with our original same-brand unitVery frustrating

    Couldbebetter
So far the oven works as expected. I would rate it higher if it wasn’t due to the first one shipped was defective. The door opening mechanism would not open the door. The packaging was also damaged. It looked like one that had been returned and just shipped out again.

    RV microwave
Great compact microwave put in our living quarters horse trailer. Microwave heats evenly! The look is ver sleek and ours is black in color. Very easy to install. We just had to unscrew 2 pieces of wood to remove the old one and replace with the new one, plug it in and replace the 2 wood panels.

    Love it
I replaced the basic microwave in my camper with this item. My stove never cooked properly but on our last trip, we were able to bake numerous items (cookies, cinnamon rolls, etc.)without any issue. The size on the website was a little off or I didn’t understand it right, but with a slight modification to my cabinet, it was no problem. Package came in an overwrap box and was in perfect shape.

    Won’t cook popcorn
We got this unit to replace a Sharp that’s no longer made for our 2002 Airstream MH. The screw holes on the shroud didn’t line up — to be expected since this is not an exact replacement — but we improvised and got the unit in. It looks good! We’ve used it for a couple of outings. We’ve prepared meals in it.Our biggest disappointment is popcorn — the 2nd most important thing a microwave can do (leftovers is #1). It has a setting for 3.0 and 3.3 oz bags of microwave popcorn, but it pops them incompletely. Even if we just run the unit wide open, the popcorn is slow to pop, and we get maybe 20% unpopped before we have to stop to keep from ruining what we already have. Even so, the kernals are undersized and chewy. We tried Kroger and Costco corn from the same box that pops great on our two home units (Sears). We’ve seen this kind of behavior before — in hotels in small, underpowered microwaves in the 700 watt range. We thought at first our problem might be low voltage, but we put a smart-surge on the line, and we stayed above 118 volts while cooking. This was surprising since this unit is rated at 1100 watts output on a 1500-watt draw which is in the home-kitchen category, but it does not cook that well. We did find that raising the popcorn bag on an upside-down paper bowl helped, but not enough. We suspect the watt rating is based on having the “oven” element running — or — we got 700-watt guts in an 1100-watt oven. We’ll keep it because we’re in the RV season, but we hoped for better for $300. When we’re flush, we’ll look for something else.
