ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS FOR MY PICKY DOG !!!
Rather than a mat to put under my dogs bowls, I bought a smaller size for my Malinois/GSD mix to use as a “plate” of sorts. He is very picky about his food and how it’s given to him. Despite all our methods to make him understand that he must eat when given food and served how it is in his bowl, it seems he’s rather starved and I found that he was losing far too much weight. One big thing I realized is that he refused to eat the food on the bottom edges of his rounded bowls. I’d have to scoop the food there into the middle of the bowl and he’d happily eat it. This sparked me to consider using a plate with a raised edge so that he wouldn’t make a mess. The issue was that I could only find these for cats and they were incredibly small, even the larger sizes. They were not large enough to hold my dogs 2 cups of food. So then I started looking at mats. This one was perfect, the right size to fit on his actually food and water mat (I use a small dog crate mat for it aha). It fits perfectly beside his water bowl. It’s very easy to clean after each meal and is perfect for the amount of food he eats. He gobbles up his food easily and has no more problems with food getting stuck in the bottom edges of his bowl! I smaller issue I had with his stainless steel bowl is how cold it was even when his food was warmed. He did not like his tongue pressing against the bowl especially when it was that cold. The flat silicone doesn’t get particularly cold and keeps his nose from pressing against anything. It’s exactly what we needed.

Dog Food Mat
It works great. It is a dog food mat but can be, and is, used as a cat food mat.What else can I say? It is a rubbery silicone that doesn’t slide around the floor, and has a small lip around the edge if you slosh the water dish. I could claim that even my mother likes it, but I don’t want to lie and she is dead and doesn’t care. The cat didn’t seem to notice that the cute little rug the wife had put down for him had been switched out. If he did, he never complained.

Perfect large mat for messy dogs
Bought for dog’s water and food bowl area because we have a dog who is very messy. This is a great size to catch all the food and water that my dog leaves in her food area. I like that it has a lip on it so water stays inside the mat area. It’s not too heavy, the weight is just right for when I need to pick up and clean it too. Happy with the quality of the mat.
