Key Features
- Embroidery Design: A subtle embroidered edge detail adds artisanal sophistication, elevating the overall look while maintaining a clean, generous appearance. This thoughtful touch ensures the set feels intentional and polished without being overly ornate.
- Deep Pocket Fitted Sheet: With a generous 14-inch depth and elastic banding around the entire perimeter, the fitted sheet securely fits most standard king-size mattresses. This prevents shifting and slipping during sleep, ensuring a snug fit night after night.
- Side Open Pillowcases: Unlike traditional flap closures, these pillowcases feature a convenient side-opening design, making it easier to insert and remove pillows. This streamlined approach simplifies bed-making and daily routine, especially for those who frequently change pillowcases or use decorative pillow covers.
- Breathable Washed Fabric: Pre-washed for enhanced softness and reduced initial wrinkling, the linen offers a relaxed, lived-in feel right out of the package. Its natural moisture-wicking properties promote airflow, helping you stay cool and comfortable—ideal for warmer climates or restless sleepers.
- Solid Color & Natural Hue: The solid natural French flax shade brings warmth and understated texture to your bedding ensemble. Its versatile tone complements farmhouse, rustic, coastal, and modern interiors alike, offering effortless coordination with throws, cushions, and rugs.

Benefits & Use Cases
This linen sheet set is perfect for anyone seeking a balance between classic craftsmanship and modern simplicity. The slightly textured surface of the natural linen adds visual interest to your bedding layout, making it an excellent foundation for layered looks with quilts, duvets, or shams. It’s especially well-suited for farmhouse, rustic, or coastal-inspired interiors, where authenticity and comfort are prioritized.
The breathable nature of linen makes it a great choice for hot sleepers or humid climates, as it allows air to circulate freely and wicks away moisture to keep you dry through the night. The 14-inch fitted sheet accommodates thicker mattresses, including memory foam and hybrid models, while the elasticized corners ensure a secure, no-shift fit.
The side-open pillowcases streamline daily routines, reducing frustration when inserting or removing pillows. Whether you’re making the bed in the morning or changing linens weekly, this practical detail saves time and effort. Over time, the 100% linen fabric develops a softer hand and more luxurious drape with each wash, enhancing its natural beauty.
The neutral solid color ensures easy integration with existing decor, allowing you to mix and match with patterned or textured accent pieces. Because it’s made from all-natural fibers, the set ages gracefully, becoming more supple and refined with use—never losing its integrity.
Important Notes
This set does not include a duvet cover or additional pillowcases beyond the two provided. To maintain the fabric’s longevity and softness, machine wash on a gentle cycle using cold water and mild detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners, which can degrade the linen fibers over time. Tumble dry on low heat or air dry to minimize shrinkage and preserve the sheet’s drape. While linen is naturally prone to slight wrinkling, many appreciate this authentic characteristic as part of its organic charm—though ironing may occasionally be needed for a crisp finish.

Overall good quality, minor flaws with fabric, good price for linen
A couple years ago i switched to linen bedding, i was skeptical at first but i made the decision to spend the money on a set of linen sheets. Since that day i haven’t looked back and i only use linen bedding. I’ve tested multiple brands but was looking for a more affordable option so i decided to give this brand a try. Here is my initial reaction:Overall they seem like good quality, there was a couple minor flaws on one pillowcase where some threads had come loose, these were part of the duvet set and not part of the sheet set but this is the reason for 4 stars. This is depicted in the photos. I trimmed the threads back and will see if any issues arise but i think it will be ok.In terms of softness, out of the box they are soft but you will definitely want to wash them before putting on your bed. I noticed the lint trap was not as full as other brands i used before so these did not shed the fibers as much, i think this means they will hold up over time really well. These will get softer with each wash which will only make them better. If you’re new to linen, you have to be ok with them being a little wrinkled. I think this adds to the comfort, the fabric feels more natural and gives it a cozy look.Linen also feels different on the skin than traditional percale sheets. I like to tell people it’s soft like flannel but breathes very well. There’s a bit of texture to linen, it’s soft but i wouldn’t say it feels smooth like traditional sheets. I sleep naked and i like the way it feels on my skin. Whenever i get back home from a trip it’s always my favorite thing to climb into my linen bedding and i sleep so good!when you wash and dry them, it’s better to dry them on low heat and take them out before they are completely dry. Linen will air dry quickly and they will last much longer if you do this.I think these are good quality for a good price, especially if you’re looking for a starter set to try out linen, these would be good for you. Just make sure you give it a fair shot and understand it may take a little adjustment period. If you take care of them they should last a very long time and get better and better.

Update: 4 and 1/2 years later – bottom sheet in shreds – NOT summer weight
Update Nov 27, 2020: Lowering to 4 stars for (lack of) durability.Bought these in late April 2016 and have been using them every 4th week – or less – rotating with other pairs. Today I woke up to find the bottom sheet in shreds near where the shoulders or the lower legs/feet would be. The sheets have gotten very very soft, the part where it is torn/shredded is extremely soft. I still like S&O linen sheets a lot and have bought from this brand 3 different pairs (two ‘natural’ color with cutout embroidery – they have a totally different texture than these).I like S&O sheets for another reason too: they are cut less generous (narrower) than other brands, which for me is a good thing as I have a low bed and all other brand linen sheets reach the floor, but the S&O don’t.================================================Original review from spring/summer 2016:Ordered them after a few reviewers characterized them as warmer weather sheets. ‘Internal heat’ had me looking into linen sheets. Bought these expecting lighter sheets. But they are NOT LIGHT WEIGHT. That said, they are wonderful! I never sleep on new sheets before washing them first. Broke my habit because I couldn’t wait to sleep on these! And slept, I did. Very soundly, on my soft and crinkly sheets. And loved them! Then I washed them and loved them even more. Did they get softer? How much softer can they get? (everyone says they can get a lot softer). They are wonderful. And for the price, you get to enjoy some ultra luxury for a fraction of what would otherwise cost. That said, if you are looking for a light weight linen sheet, this is not it. These feel more like medium/light weight, somewhere between 5.3 and 6 oz. (150 to 170 gr.) Light weight sheets should be 4.2 oz per square meter or 119 gr. I felt that to-die-for linen with my hands when I recently visited Gray Line Linens in NYC the store dedicated to linen. I am now looking for 4.2 oz linen sheets for the summer. On the other end of the spectrum, there is the suggestion of Tricia Rose of Rough Linens who proposes a really heavy weight top sheet for the summer, a heavy weight linen sheet and nothing else. She is building on the European position of no top sheet, but only bottom and duvet cover. Nice suggestion, but I’d rather keep my top sheet.2 Years later: I just bought a new pair of Simple&Opulence linen sheets in ‘natural linen’ color. They feel thicker and rougher than the first pair. The ‘natural’ color linen has not undergone any coloring process, which usually softens the fabric. Have that in mind when ordering. They are not soft yet (after first wash), but they feel very sturdy. I bought the ‘hollowed out’ design and they look gorgeous. I am in the process of ‘aging/softening’ them (helping to break down the flax fibers) using hard dryer balls in the fluff dryer cycle after the sheets air dry.

I really like these sheets!
I am no expert on linen but I have purchased 2 other sets, one from Pottery Barn for twice the price and another set on Amazon from different seller. The Pottery Barn were the nicer of the two but ripped in less than a year. These Simple Opulence are the best quality of the three. The weight is nice and they were quite smooth out of the package for being new linen. The design is so pretty and after washing them I noticed that the edges didn’t curl up as much as the others I purchased after drying and I really like that. I did wash them in laundry soap and baking soda and also did a light iron but they would be fine without the ironing. Linen is supposed to be casual with a slight wrinkle but I suggest taking them out of the dryer slightly damp and that works the best for me. I also use large washer bags to wash them so they have less chance of getting tangled in the washer and causing ripping over time.Overall I am very happy with this purchase. Only time will tell if they hold up to repeated washings but the quality looks very good and I would definitely recommend them at this point. The last photo is after washing.

Be aware that linen sheets shed.
UPDATE: these shed a LOT of tiny fibers that collect along the baseboards… I do believe it is aggravating my asthma. Be aware! I’ve read it is not uncommon for linen sheets to shed, but I had no idea it would create so much fluff/breathing hazards. These are my first linen sheets, so I’ve nothing to compare them to: but I am very pleased with the quality and feel! I was concerned they would take time getting used to due to the texture, but I’ve had no issues. They feel cool and comfortable, and I feel better knowing I’m sleeping in bedding with natural fibers. I love the color I chose (embroidery purple). Would highly recommend, for linen at a more affordable price!
