Benefits & Use Cases
If your recliner has stopped working because the original pull handle broke, cracked, or became loose, this replacement offers an immediate fix that restores smooth operation instantly. Homeowners, apartment managers, and office furniture repair services frequently rely on this part to revive aging recliners without replacing entire units—saving both time and money. Unlike original equipment often made from brittle plastic, this all-metal version withstands daily wear far more effectively, reducing the likelihood of future failures. Users report not just a proper fit but often improved performance compared to stock handles, thanks to its sturdier build and precise engineering. Whether repairing a single family armchair or maintaining multiple recliners in a shared living space, this lever provides dependable, responsive action with minimal maintenance.
The universal nature of this design means you won’t need to search for model-specific parts—just confirm your handle size (3″ x 3.5″) and verify the barrel bolt at the cable end measures 6mm or smaller before installation. With clear dimensions provided and a straightforward mounting process, even DIY novices can complete repairs quickly and confidently. Many customers highlight how easy it was to install, how well the handle functions after replacement, and how much value they received relative to price. Some even note that their recliners now feel tighter and more responsive than when new—thanks in part to this upgraded component.
Important Notes
Before placing your order, carefully measure your existing handle’s width and height, as well as the diameter of the barrel connector on the attached cable. Only proceed if your measurements match the 3″ x 3.5″ face dimension and the cable end is 6mm or less. While this product includes the cable hook and assumes basic screwdriver access for installation, additional hardware (like screws) may be needed depending on your specific recliner’s mounting setup—though these are typically included with the original furniture. This item serves strictly as a functional replacement part and does not include springs, cables, or full recliner mechanisms. For questions about cross-brand compatibility beyond those listed, or if you’re unsure about measurement accuracy, reaching out directly to the manufacturer is recommended. Recommend!
Actually made of metal and seems of good quality and durable. It was easy to install and works like a charm! Time will tell but I really think it was well worth the extra couple of bucks to get a metal one instead of a plastic one. It was on my wife’s side of the sofa and she was so happy and gave me a smile and a wink when she tried it out so I’m sure it was a great buy!

Easy to install, sturdy metal
This came with the clip to lock the cable in. It was easy to install. I used the screws that came.out of the broken one I replaced. It is metal so it won’t break like those plastic ones. I was quite excited to find a metal one. My recliner is a no name brand and it fit in the hole with a little extra wiggle room but did not leave big gaps. You can’t tell it is an aftermarket replacement. It worked perfect with the first pull.

Fits my La-Z-boy with some differences
The best thing about the handle is that it’s metal and not plastic like the one that originally came on my La-Z-boy sofa. I tried finding one that was exactly like what I had. This was the closest I could find and decided to give it a try to see if I could make it work. First, on my old handle the cable attached in a different location. Second, the cable end was smaller than the hole in the new handle. The outer cable jacket looked the same and it did fit in the new location. I made a sleeve out of an electrical crimp connector for the cable end that fit nicely in the new handle. The cable was just long enough to reach the top of the handle when it was installed in the sofa. I could have flipped it over 180 degrees, but you would have then been pushing down instead of pulling up on the handle to operate the recliner. It is working where it is, so I’m not going to worry about it. The attached pictures show what I am talking about a little better. The first shows both new and old handles together. The next three show the old handle cable mounting points and how the old handle style looks on the opposite side of the sofa. The next two pictures show the cable installed in the new handle and the sleeve I made before I crimped it on the end of the cable. The last two pictures show the new handle installed. It operates very smoothly, better than the original.

Works.. but not a perfect match
“End User” nailed it on their review, I had the exact same problem on my (2014?) lazy boy recliner couch. In short, the handle works but I had to install it upside down, meaning instead of pulling up I’m not pushing downward on the lever part with my thumb. Why? As the photo shows, and as end user shared In their review – the cable comes out the top of this aftermarket handle (compared to the other photo which shows the original being flat on top) feeding the cable up toward the wood of the inside of the couch. You’d think from the picture that this is working, but the handle can’t be inserted all the way into couch bc the cable hits the top, thus you have to rotate it 180 degrees so the cable exits from the bottom allowing room for handle to be installed into couch correctly. I could have figured something out like “end user” to crimp and make it work.. but it’s 10.30pm and whatever, I’ll open it reverse and be done with it.I wish it would be the same as the original, but at the end of the day, there’s bigger things to waste time on. The operation (although backwards) is smooth and works fine so far. Very easy 2 screws (don’t over tighten and strip the wood when you put them back in!).Product doesn’t include instructions, the weird metal clip is for securing the cable in place, I had to use pliers to get it on all the way.Entire job took 3 minutes, and I now have an upside down, but working handle. 5 stars for better quality than original -3 stars for it not being the same as OEM and needing to be upsidedown +1 for price and ease +1 for it functioning without additional work. Leaves me at 4 stars overall.

Perfect Fit
I was relieved to find out that replacements were available. This even seems better than the original, being metal instead of plastic. Easy to install. In about ten minutes my loveseat was fixed!

Made of steel, fits perfectly and is easy to install.
Made of steel! My couch had a cheap plastic handle – no wonder it broke. This part fits perfect and is easy to install.

Th plastic ones that came with the sofa had broken. Decided to get something that would last more than a couple of months. They fit perfect and are well made. Waited a few weeks to get them but it was worth the wait.

I’ve replaced the handles on my recliner twice already, this all metal handle looks like it will outlast the recliner, it’s very sturdy and the release action is smooth.
